CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- Like most of the other reviews, my experience with Platinum Auto Finance has been a headache. They call when I do and don't owe money. They don't care about your issues or what's going on even though they ask you that. My mother was in the hospital with cancer, and I had to go back and forth to visit her. They even held on to my card number which they're not suppose to do. They authorized more than one payment on that, even after telling me it would not be on file, that's theft!!! Which makes me wonder what else they'll do that you don't know about. They claim there's no way to verify what was said, but all calls are recorded.
DON'T GO THROUGH THESE PEOPLE!!! I fell behind once and they were ready to repo my car, I mean what the hell. The managers are absolutely rude. THEY ARE OUT FOR YOUR MONEY AND WILL LEAVE YOU IN THE DUST!! PLEASE, PLEASE BEWARE! They work with dealerships to sell who work with people who have bad credit only to screw when something happens. They don't care about you or helping your credit rise. They act like they do but they don't.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I look at the other reviews and I think mine is no different from them. Sadly, after such a big struggle with health, no income, being considered "homeless" for a couple of months, we, as many other families have tried to catch up with our financial situation and health as well.
This said, after getting a raise in our rent it became impossible to pay our car. We tried to collect the money asked in order to help us maintain a good credit score but unfortunately, we had to decide between house rent, food and health. This is something that didn't matter to the rude lady that called my husband, yesterday, Wednesday 8/30. Her words, the tone on her voice, very upsetting. On the other hand, one of the gentleman that tried to contact us seemed to be more understanding and even though nothing can be done at this point, I really appreciate the way he treated my husband. It is a shame having to deal with people like this lady.
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I thank God that this company was willing to give me a car loan even though my credit wasn't all that great. The members of that company in the Charlotte location are amazing. Byron, John, Kathy are super. I ran into a situation where I needed to change payment due date and I call Kathy and told her the situation and she told me that she would have to talk to her manager and she called me back in 1 hour and told that it was approved. She is great for going to bat for little old me. Thank you.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I am behind on my car payments. I take responsibility for that, and I am aware that I may lose my car if I can't catch up. I am grown up about my situation; however, I make arrangements with Platinum that are forced upon me and I have gotten called three times in one day after I have made an arrangement on the first phone call!!!
How many of the employees do I have to tell the same thing to in a day? I talked to James, Jose and Tisha all within 2 hours. That's harassment! And Tisha ** had the nerve to tell me "Well if you weren't in deferment, you wouldn't have to worry about these calls." How professional is that to be with a client? I can't wait til I am blessed out of their company.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I could not pay for my care due to unforeseen circumstances. It probably would have been repossessed. I was very very lucky to have a couple of friends step up for me so I wouldn't lose my car. And what happens... This organization stole money from my account and two friends accounts who were trying to help me make payments. That is three (3) people's accounts whom they had no authorization to deduct payments. Two of whom aren't even their customers!!!
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I'm going to be straight with you about this auto lender. I was in a bad financial situation because of a terrible car dealer that sold me a car (A&M Auto). A&M screwed me over. They took my paid off car as a trade in, showed me a perfect inspection report on the car I was buying, swore up and down nothing was wrong with it, etc etc... The car broke down 3 days after I purchased it. I cannot explain enough about the terrible stress that this dealer caused me.
They said I broke the car, everything was my fault, and ignored all the issues I was having. I almost lost my job and had to pay out the ** for a rental car more than once. The situation spiraled out of control and I had a break down of my own. I was scared, hopeless, and the last phone call I was going to take was my auto lender, Platinum Auto Finance... But I had no choice.
The voice on the other end was **/Manager for Platinum. I spilled my guts and told him everything. After a short time, I had to stop and ask if he was still there? He was. ** was listening. He wasn't just hearing me, he was understanding my situation and clearly comprehending the stress I had been feeling. Not once did he interrupt. The real proof of the character of Platinum was crystal clear in their actions. I wasn't asking for some ridiculous favor or a miracle; I just told the truth and they were the ones that helped me!
So for all of you out there that want to blame the lender for your unfortunate situation, let me be the first to tell you just how wrong you are. They are on your side. Platinum Auto Finance is a lender. We do not sell vehicles. Your complaint should be against the dealer that sold you then vehicle, not the finance company
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I purchased a car from Platinum Auto Finance in Clearwater FL (Harn Blvd. and U.S. 19) about 3 years ago and recently traded the vehicle I purchase through them, just to get away from their nonsense. Their finance department has the rudest staff I've ever conducted business with.
I would have instances where I called them to pay my car note early, and I was given an attitude where I was bothering them. Not to mention, their warranties/vehicles are bogus. They say a warranty covers x, y, z repairs, but when it's time to repair whatever is broken, they can't because of "legal limitations." They also like to put you on an auto-pay plan, and take money from you, whenever they feel (not when your car note is due).
I implore anyone that's reading this; PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE OR ANY PRODUCTS FROM THEM. Yes, they're readily available to extend credit to those that are credit challenged, but at what cost??? Thanks, but no thanks. Don't buy anything from them.
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA -- Have always had good experience with the office even when I have been late. I was in the hospital for several weeks and my truck was not taken back. For all the bad reviews there might be more to the story. For the bad reviews on the cars, the finance the cars not sell them. I do not have perfect credit that is why I use them. Check the car out before you buy it.
CHARLOTTE NC, NORTH CAROLINA -- Worse place ever. Do not finance your car with them. I bought a car from a used car lot, the car had several issues. I spent $3000 down and $4000 out of pocket. The car dealership and the finance company work together to take your money. Their cars do not last long and the finance company knows it. :-) It's all a gimmick. Be aware. Go to your bank or anything bank that can inspect your car before buying it. Glad they repoed that **. It was a BURDEN FINANCIALLY AND STRESSFUL PIECE OF CRAP CAR!
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- My 1st car I got through them lasted 2 weeks and the engine blew. Then they slid me in to a PT CRUISE that cost 6000 more. I was in hospital for 2 weeks and the payment was 17 days late when they report it saying I hadn't contacted them, when in fact I had talked to ** about 4 times. He told me if I wanted my car back, call his cell because the corporate lines don't work and he never gets his messages. Then whoever drove my car ran up toll charges that I had to pay... and ** said "so what he wasn't paying them, it's not his problem" even though he had the car.... They have a D- on the BBB rating.
