CHARLOTTE NC, NORTH CAROLINA -- Worse place ever. Do not finance your car with them. I bought a car from a used car lot, the car had several issues. I spent $3000 down and $4000 out of pocket. The car dealership and the finance company work together to take your money. Their cars do not last long and the finance company knows it. :-) It's all a gimmick. Be aware. Go to your bank or anything bank that can inspect your car before buying it. Glad they repoed that **. It was a BURDEN FINANCIALLY AND STRESSFUL PIECE OF CRAP CAR!
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I'm going to be straight with you about this auto lender. I was in a bad financial situation because of a terrible car dealer that sold me a car (A&M Auto). A&M screwed me over. They took my paid off car as a trade in, showed me a perfect inspection report on the car I was buying, swore up and down nothing was wrong with it, etc etc... The car broke down 3 days after I purchased it. I cannot explain enough about the terrible stress that this dealer caused me.
They said I broke the car, everything was my fault, and ignored all the issues I was having. I almost lost my job and had to pay out the ** for a rental car more than once. The situation spiraled out of control and I had a break down of my own. I was scared, hopeless, and the last phone call I was going to take was my auto lender, Platinum Auto Finance... But I had no choice.
The voice on the other end was **/Manager for Platinum. I spilled my guts and told him everything. After a short time, I had to stop and ask if he was still there? He was. ** was listening. He wasn't just hearing me, he was understanding my situation and clearly comprehending the stress I had been feeling. Not once did he interrupt. The real proof of the character of Platinum was crystal clear in their actions. I wasn't asking for some ridiculous favor or a miracle; I just told the truth and they were the ones that helped me!
So for all of you out there that want to blame the lender for your unfortunate situation, let me be the first to tell you just how wrong you are. They are on your side. If you want to know more I'd be more than happy to elaborate. Leave a comment here with contact info and I will contact you. I stand by my word based on personal experience.
Platinum Auto Finance is a lender. We do not sell vehicles. Your complaint should be against the dealer that sold you then vehicle, not the finance company
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I purchased a car from Platinum Auto Finance in Clearwater FL (Harn Blvd. and U.S. 19) about 3 years ago and recently traded the vehicle I purchase through them, just to get away from their nonsense. Their finance department has the rudest staff I've ever conducted business with.
I would have instances where I called them to pay my car note early, and I was given an attitude where I was bothering them. Not to mention, their warranties/vehicles are bogus. They say a warranty covers x, y, z repairs, but when it's time to repair whatever is broken, they can't because of "legal limitations." They also like to put you on an auto-pay plan, and take money from you, whenever they feel (not when your car note is due).
I implore anyone that's reading this; PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE OR ANY PRODUCTS FROM THEM. Yes, they're readily available to extend credit to those that are credit challenged, but at what cost??? Thanks, but no thanks. Don't buy anything from them.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- My 1st car I got through them lasted 2 weeks and the engine blew. Then they slid me in to a PT CRUISE that cost 6000 more. I was in hospital for 2 weeks and the payment was 17 days late when they report it saying I hadn't contacted them, when in fact I had talked to ** about 4 times. He told me if I wanted my car back, call his cell because the corporate lines don't work and he never gets his messages. Then whoever drove my car ran up toll charges that I had to pay... and ** said "so what he wasn't paying them, it's not his problem" even though he had the car.... They have a D- on the BBB rating.
TAMPA, FLORIDA -- I just received a letter in the mail today from Platinum Auto Finance AKA Thrifty Car Sales that they would pay me $10 per positive review and even provided me the websites where I should write these reviews at. I believe that in its own has a lot to say for a company when they have to pay you to write positive things about them. I recently purchased a vehicle from them and have had nothing but issues since I bought the car.
Needless to say they have had my car in their shop for repairs longer than I have had my own vehicle since the purchase date. The salesman/ manager has no customer skills whatsoever and Thrifty's only concern is to sell cars at whatever cost. Once the car is out the door they couldn't care less what happens to it or the customer. They refuse to help or make any situation better and even have caller id so they only answer calls to whom they choose to.
If I had the chance to do it all over again I would have saved my down payment and used it on bus fair before buying a car at thrifty. Please people be aware and do not buy from these people. They do their own financing and will finance to anyone no matter how bad their credit is which may seem like a relief to people like myself who are in financial distress. But believe me it is more of a hassle and there are options out there better than this company who does not value nor appreciate their customers. BE INFORMED PEOPLE!!!!!
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- Buying our truck through Platinum Auto Finance (Thrifty) was so much easier than I would have ever imagined! We have less than perfect credit, to say the least, and I was actually expecting them to turn us down, or offer us a really old car.Neither! We found a truck that we wanted, took it for a test drive, and loved it! They really worked with us and our bad credit. It has been a year now since we bought the truck and we have made all of our payments on time. Soon, I will go in to see if they will refinance... Hopefully they will be able to fulfill that promise also. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our truck and our experience with Thrifty/Platinum!
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I am having nothing but problems with the vehicle I got from Tampa Bay Auto Finance. I was financed through Platinum Auto Finance and neither of them care about you or the car once the deal is finished. The vehicle has had to be repaired twice since February of this year that is only 3 months ago. They want their payments and that's it. Horrible place and won't do it again.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I disagree with the other review. I applied for financing at a dealership, that turns out the vehicle had lot of issues not worth the price they were asking. Called another dealer that I deal with, they also worked with Platinum, and was able to get my deal! They work with more than one dealer, as this originally started in Pasco County, and ended up with another dealer in Seffner! I strongly recommend you check into them if you're in need of credit with a poor score.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- The representative I dealt with, **, appears to have done his apprenticeship with the mafia. A simple application to borrow $7000 to buy $9000 car from a different dealer, with me putting down $2000 deposit and paying all other costs in cash turned into a loan that would have cost $18000+ over 4 years. Warning - Platinum Finance are only interested in selling cars from Thrifty Car Sales. They have no interest in financing a car purchase from a different dealer. Avoid.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- A little over a year ago I was looked to buy a used car. I searched the web and found Platinum Auto, also known as Thrifty Car Sales. I knew what range I wanted the payments to be between and they made the payments even less for me. They call every few months to make sure everything is going okay. The icing on the cake was when I saw scratches on the car they repainted it for me. They have great customer service!
