This TV is such a nightmare. Can no longer watch it in HD, have to mute sound due to high pitch noise, won't turn off or on, we have to keep unplugging it and replugging it to get it to come on, now we just leave it on all the time. Remote won't work. Every now and then we get a little blue colored box floating around the screen. TV is no longer under any warranty, we are out about $1100! We were told by repair shop that these were actually computer monitors that were passed off as televisions.
ALABAMA -- This TV has been nothing but trouble and it is only seven months old. Now the DVD won't read the disc. Wal-mart says I have to send it to the manufacturer because they only warranty 90 days. You could not give me another Polaroid TV or anything else.
GREENVILLE -- My husband and I decided to splurge and buy that nice looking Polaroid LCDs. Well here we are only 17 months later, and we too have an expensive piece of crap. There is no picture on the screen and the DVD player stopping working months ago! As far as extended warranties go... When you spend that much on an item, you expect it to be high quality materials. Not some slapped together piece of ** that was probably assembled in some dark third world basement! You people should really be ashamed of yourselves.
MARIETTA, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I bought this TV new, and we have had it about 18 months. We started having problems with a black box appearing on the screen which would only go away after you turned it off and back on again. Now we can't even get the TV to turn on! And the repairs are not worth the cost because I can buy another TV of the same size cheaper! Many of other people have reported this same problem. I see a class action suit in Polaroid's future!
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND -- I wish I had read other reviews before spending so much money for a TV that was operational for 1 year. They should be so ashamed to have this product on the market. Everyone has the same problem with the control box - and service. All retail stores should pull this product from their shelves as the associated problems only infuriate consumers with the retail outlet. Instead of buying Polaroid stuff the $1000.00 or so in your garbage disposal. Same effect.
Just over 14 months ago I purchased a Polaroid LCD TV which is now an expensive piece of junk. I contacted Polaroid and all they say is they're sorry the control box (which cost nearly as much as the TV) is bad but the 12 month warranty is up. Tv's I've owned prior have lasted beyond my keeping them and were far less expensive than this LCD. I notice others with the same problem so if purchasing an LCD TV stay away from Polaroid.
GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN -- Purchased a Polaroid 19" LCD TV. It worked for 11 months. IT STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. Returned TV to Polaroid with everything it came with (remote, cables, instructions, duplicate receipts, copy of emailed warranty card). Received a non-working scratched screen and body in horrible shape, no cables, no remote, no owner's manual. Thanks Polaroid.
