I happened to notice that there are similar complaints regarding this TV. After approximately 18-20 months, the power comes on but NO picture. "Black out" on the screen.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to how I may resolve this issue?(Other then calling it quits and buying new.)email: email@example.com
I too made a call to the Polaroid Company. They actually attempted to sell me an extended warranty. After respectfully declining their offer I was told that maybe I could buy a replacement part that may or may not work. Yup...You guessed it....Not much help!
So if you're shopping for a new TV. STAY CLEAR OF THE POLAROID NAME!
TEXAS -- We have bought 4 same units of Polaroid TV (1511-TLXB) on 06-27-07 for $865.96 including sale Tax. First unit stopped working by Nov of 2007. We have shipped back for repair and, it took almost 4 months to received it back, after 6 months later, it gave up again. Second unit broke down on 12-15-2008, and third unit just broke down last week which was 01-31-2009. I still have one left is working. So tell me, are you going to buy this model of Polaroid TVs?Add reply

I purchased this in Feb of 07. I did purchase the extended two-year warranty - had to use it once after the TV was just short of a year old and yesterday the piece of crap went out again. The volume was going up and down on its own - blue screen. We shut it off and it turned itself back on and now there is just a black screen. And the warranty is up!

I truly expected this TV to last longer than 3.5 years. Fooled once - not again!
32 Inch Polaroid TV and DVD Combo Flat Screen sold at Wal-Mart is a very bad engineered product, the built in DVD player only worked correctly about three times, then after using the TV about two weeks it started making a funny noise after just turning it on, the noise was a winding sound coming from the built in DVD, and it will do this winding noise then stop and then start again for about five times before it stops. This will happen every time the TV is turned on and there is no DVD disk installed. Also now the built in DVD will not work at all when trying to play a DVD disk, just makes the aforementioned noise each time the TV is turned on. The TV itself works as a TV very well, its just the DVD that failed when the TV was less then a month old, and was told having it shipped back after being repaired, they would not guarantee something else might be broken in shipment. My personal option of this model of Polaroid TV is not worth the price. Add reply

I too have been taken by polaroid. got mine at circuit city, as well. and to date it sits on top of my dresser. collecting dust. I had bought the combo. t. v and DVD player. well the DVD, and sound went. repair shop say's Polaroid does not respond. $100.00 and no repair's later, and here it sits. I did but a pair of external speakers that I hooked up through the headphone jack, so I can get volume. but it's original purpose of watching a movie in bed is just a dream!
if there is class action suit, sign me up!
This TV has been nothing but trouble and it is only seven months old. Now the DVD won't read the disc.
Walmart says I have to send it to the manufacturer because they only warranty 90 days. You could not give me another Polaroid TV or anything else.

Just over 14 months ago I purchased a Polaroid LCD TV which is now an expensive piece of junk. I contacted Polaroid and all they say is there sorry the control box (which cost nearly as much as the TV)is bad but the 12 month warranty is up. Tv's I've owned prior have lasted beyond my keeping them and were far less expensive than this LCD.

I notice others with the same problem so if purchasing an LCD TV stay away from Polaroid.
Had this TV for over 5 years and its still running great. I know people who play thousands for Sony visio or other "high end" brands that don't last as long.. and the picture quality isn't nearly as good.. I have seen a lot of bad reviews for Polaroid TVs but I am more than happy. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 01/01/2014Add reply
