Waiting for a Table

INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA -- We arrived at the Red Lobster (Inglewood, CA) around 3:00 P.M. We were told that it would be a minute for us to get our table. We waited ten minutes and no one came to us and said anything else. There were empty tables and there was also two couples in front of us. I understand having to wait for a table if the restaurant was crowded but this wait was too long for the restaurant to be half empty. We ended up going to Lucille's BBQ in Culver City and there were less free tables but we were seated in less than 3 minutes. We should have been seated instead of told to wait.

BRIGETON, MISSOURI -- I took my mother out for a special occasion just because I love my mom and not saying everyone don't but we think you are going to get good service but it turns out to be a disaster. First I would like to say my mom is a diabetic. So we ask if they could put some of our order on the side. Apparently we never got I order like if they never sent it back. We waited a whole 1 1/2 waiting on our food. When ask for the manager they act like they didn't want to get the manager so when she finally came to the table she say that she was sorry as if she couldn't care less and tell us that our food was just sitting in the window.

OK, why didn't she address her workers? Apparently just as I thought, she didn't care and sorry wasn't good enough from someone who act like she don't care. Why because am a black customer! I don't want to cause any trouble, I just wanted a night out with my mom.

Where Did the Tail Go???

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA -- Up to about 8 years ago, when I moved south and away from my sister, we used to always celebrate our birthdays at Red Lobster. The rock lobster tail and Large frozen strawberry daiquiris were our traditional birthday dinners. Friday Aug 17, 2012, when my sister and I finally were able to see each other after all these years, decided to do our "traditional" birthday meal at Red Lobster once again.

Excitedly we ordered our Large Strawberry Daiquiris, which the only complaint we had was... What happened to the cute little lobster necklaces you used to get with them? They were cheap but an added little 'bonus' for drinking the big one!!! Oh well, she decided to go with the Surf and Turf. Me, I wanted and had been dreaming of the Super Rock lobster tail of years ago. I asked the server "Do you still have that big tail?" She said it was 9oz, which didn't mean anything to me... I ordered it.

My meal consisted of salad, mashed potatoes and a lobster tail that was slightly bigger than my sister's surf and turf lobster tail. 6 bites, truly, 6 bites and it was gone. The lobster tail I remember was so large it was almost too much to eat - not this little thing. Not only was I still hungry, but they had the ** to charge me $28.00 for the plate. Terrible value... Really? You are going to charge me $28.00 for a salad, mashed potatoes and a small tail? Really? Not again. I will definitely not recommend Red Lobster for their portions.

Who's in the Kitchen???

SPRING, TEXAS -- I, just this past Friday night (7-6-12) went to the Red Lobster on 1960 W, just west of I-45 in Houston TX, where I ordered Red Lobster, shrimp scampi and sea scallops along w/ a baked tater - NO cheese on the tater AND NO rice on my plate.

Well, the 1st TIME my plate came out even before the waiter set it down on the table, I saw cheese on my tater. I protested and away that plate went. By the time it appeared again, I was hungry. (Good reason to eat... I thought!!!) I ate the lobster (it was a bit tough). Then I saw it - RICE ON MY PLATE!!! There went my appetite...

Now, we have ALL seen those commercials where some dude says he is the "culinary guru" of the kitchen and is there to see that we all get quality food. I would like to know where he/she was last Friday night around 8:30 pm... I later ate at Denny's restaurant. My opinion - Red Lobster is resting/relying on its past reputation. Sorry, as in ANY service oriented business... EVERYDAY AND EVERY CUSTOMER is WHAT YOUR business needs to focus on, and if your kitchen staff does not comprehend English, well maybe you should consider employing people THAT DO!!!

WHAT A CRAPPY MEAL

ERIE BLVD., NEW YORK -- After attending a show in Syracuse, my family decided to go to the Erie Blvd. Red Lobster for lunch. We ordered the "broiled seafood platter" and some kind of lobster/shrimp linguine. The food was absolutely disgusting. It looked like leftovers microwaved from yesterday's specials. To go to a popular chain like this and receive that kind of food was just terrible. Not only was it terrible, but we spent almost 80.00 on lunch.

The service was also terrible. The waitress did not know if she was coming or going. Either she was still under the influence from the night before or she was hitting the crack pipe in the back room. We will never go there again. I don't even want a free coupon. I just want someone else to read this so they don't eat there.

Lobsterfest..This Darden Chain Restaurant Almost Got It Right
By -

Decided to give them a try after watching their mouth watering "Lobsterfest" commercials. Went on a Sunday night and was promptly seated in a booth. Ordered the seafood special appetizer for $10.95. Consisted up 4 small stuffed mushrooms with crab meat, 4 bacon wrapped scallops and clam strips. They got this right... served hot in under 10 minutes. Ordered the house Caesar salad, also good with fresh romaine and a generous amount of really good Caesar dressing.

Now the $30.00 dollar "Lobster Lovers Dream" dinner arrives. Both my wife and I ordered this. ($60.00) It consisted of a 4 oz cold water tail, a 5 oz rock lobster tail and pasta with shrimp in an Alfredo sauce. The 4 oz tail and shrimp with pasta was excellent. The 5 oz rock tail was tough and chewy. This ruined the meal.

The waitress explained that the rock tails are not as sweet and tender because they come from warm water. This can be identified by the spots on the tail. Why didn't she explain this when we ordered? Conclusion: We had a decent meal but it was not worth the $85.00 check. We tipped the waitress well. Next time we'll skip the lobster because it's not worth the money and order something else.

WAYNE, NEW JERSEY -- I went to the Red Lobster on Rte. 46 East in Wayne, NJ last night at 4 P.M. I had asked for a gin and tonic, the server brought me a martini. I had ordered the surf and turf dinner. I had asked for the steak to be medium, it was overdone and I couldn't cut it at all. The lobster was also overcooked. I had to ask for melted butter to go with the lobster, never got it. The waiter was horribly slow. It was 4, it was only my daughter and I in the place. I shouldn't have to wait almost 15 minutes for the server to take my money to pay. I don't ever think I am ever going to back to Red Lobster at all.

Terrible Service

HAMBURG, NEW YORK -- We dined at Red Lobster on McKinley Ave. last night. The service was especially slow considering we were seated at the table at 6:30 and didn't even receive biscuits and salad until after 7:00. My potato wasn't done and the meat was raw, which is disappointing considering the wait time. I was so angry and anxious to leave I forgot to use the coupon. I remembered however, didn't want to have the waitress take the $4.00 off because that would take even longer. It was ridiculously cold there. Like eating in the refrigerator!

Horrible experience to put it mildly. As it was we didn't get out of there until 8:00 pm. Complained to manager but he was as worthless as the waitress. Witnessed people coming in after us and having their salads and biscuits before we did. Manager just offered a lame apology. Totally unacceptable!!

DICKSON CITY, PENNSYLVANIA -- This was our first time to Red Lobster. My husband and I have 4 children between the two of us. Two are in college and so we have become quite frugal in some ways. Looking for coupons before going to a restaurant to be cost effective. For Valentine's weekend Red Lobster was running a special of dinner for two $29.99 which included a two salads, two entrees, either an appetizer or a dessert. We chose the dessert. The food was generous in portion, and very tasty. Since it was Valentine's weekend my husband and I chose to be alone instead of having our children join us.

We were interrupted by 3 different waiters at least 9 times during the course of our meal. It became disruptive after the 4th time. We were wrapping up our dinner with our dessert and 2 decaf coffees. We also had a $4.00 off two entree dinner coupon in the hopes of saving some more money.

We were very disappointed to see that Red Lobster charges $2.20 for a 8oz cup of coffee EACH! Honestly if it were dinner for two and dessert it should have been complimentary to throw in 2 cups of coffee. Overall the food was good. However, we did not appreciate the condescending attitude the waitress gave us when we questioned how much the coffee was because it was not listed on the menu of how much the coffee would be.

Salty!!!

CALGARY, ALBERTA CANADA, CALIFORNIA -- We went for dinner last night at the 36th Street Location (I don't think it matters on location.) We had Calamari, Escargo, and Stuffed Mushrooms. The Calamari looked like someone had been snacking on it (not many) and the others where grossly Salty!!! I had a shrimp combo dish with a baked potato, the baked potato was probably made way before it got my my plate! and the reheated pasta dish, dried out pasta was trying to be disguised by their horrible salty Alfredo sauce, oh and the baked potato only comes with a glob of sour cream (WT) Terri able!!

I will Never ever eat there AGAIN any of the it's such CRAP! We could have bought a whole bag of shrimp and used REAL Garlic and a lobster and crab legs for 8 people at the price we paid for that GARBAGE! Lesson Learned! Never Again !!!
