BETHLEHEM, PENNSYLVANIA -- My husband, children, and I go out to eat at Ruby Tuesdays every Wednesday night as to that is our only night off together. On this particular night after dining in we went to leave and I informed my husband that I smelled something strange. He turned the corner to see two young men and he told me that they were smoking marijuana out of some sort of a pipe.

We drove past the side of the building they were on by the dumpsters and employee parking and sure enough there were two young men in black pants and black chef jackets smoking. I would have thought that Ruby Tuesdays would do better background checks on these so-called people they call employees. I guess we are going to have to find a new restaurant to dine at on our night off.

Not Professional

SHELBYVILLE, TENNESSEE -- I ate at the Shelbyville TN store last Saturday (May 9). I saw some guy smash a fan on the kitchen floor. It was a crazy thing to observe. It was very unprofessional and made me nervous. I asked the waitress if everything was OK. She told me that he was a regional manager. I was ready to leave after that, but since I had already order I just stayed. My food came out and I proceeded to eat. I started eating my baked potato and bit into something hard. It was a piece of white plastic from the fan that was smashed on the floor. I could still hear the guy being loud in the kitchen.

I find it hard to believe that someone like that is in a management position. He threw a fit like a two-year-old child and smashed a fan in the floor. Is this what you consider leadership in your company? Is this the example that the other employees are supposed to follow?

I was very offended by the entire experience. They should have respectful, mature, and educated people in management. Not aggressive people who cannot control their emotions and do physical damage. I can only imagine how that made the employees feel. I think it's safe to say that this company is headed in the wrong direction.

Employees Can Ruin a Meal

MOBILE, ALABAMA -- I went to the to-go at a Ruby Tuesday in Mobile, AL at Airport and Hillcrest and it was the worst experience. I will never eat at a Ruby Tuesday again nor will I allow my family. I will not pay for someone to be rude to me. First off I ordered chicken chili yet it had no chicken in it.

After waiting for 25 min. I called and asked where the food was. The lady on the phone was very rude to me telling me I was at the wrong Ruby Tuesday and when she realized I was there she yelled at me while walking up to the car telling me I was parked in the wrong spot. That is a shortened version but she was so rude that I will never go back, ever. And this is the first time I have ever written or stated a complaint.

A Compliment

PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA -- I just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed my visit at Ruby Tuesdays. My Server was named Juanita. She was very polite. She was always on time. She handled everyone promptly. She was very good at multitasking. I just wanted to tell you that she knew the menu well. I could ask her for anything. She let me make my substitutions. I loved my service and I will be coming back to see her. She's the best waitress I've ever had at any restaurant!!! My drinks stayed full. She the best and I love that she has a sense of humor. She deserves a pat on the back! Ruby Tuesday, Victory Crossing, Portsmouth Virginia 23701.

Bad Food, Service, and Charges

JASPER, ALABAMA -- This is the worst place I have ever eat at. First the food was awful. It tasted old on the shrimp and was way too much spices on them. Forget a kid eating there. The kid's food is as spicy as the adults. The restrooms stunk. Almost made me throw up just trying to wash my hands. Then they tried to charge us for a meal that we did not even order. It took 4 tries to get the point across that we did not order the plate. Then as we were getting up to leave the manager came over to the table by us and made it a point to ask them was there a problem with their meal because we had some complaints about it and looked straight at us.

Then they would not even let me have a survey card to fill out and send in. They said they were out but I saw them when I came in but seems to have left before we got done with our meal which was the worst we ever had. We will never eat at any Ruby Tuesday again...

Service and Food

GAINSVILE, FLORIDA -- July 30, 2008 we were in Gainsville Florida. Needed to eat lunch, went to Ruby Tuesday (always got good food and service but not today, the food was under cooked). We ordered our hamburgers well done, sent them back only to be told that they only cooked them to medium well (NOT WHAT WE ORDERED).

The service was slow. I think the waitress was actually trying to ignore us. Even the manager was rude if not a little bit of a smartass. He had a very bad manners. I will probably pass this story out by word of mouth for I am in the service industry also. Forgot to mention that we had no silverware or napkins at the table and had to ask for them. Was told by the waitress that it was supposed to be on the table before we sat down. Nothing like passing the buck.

Lack Of Service And Concern For Customers
By -

MOOSIC, PENNSYLVANIA -- On Thursday, July 10, 2008, we took our office staff to lunch at the Ruby Tuesdays at Montage Mountain in Moosic PA. We arrived at 12:15 and were promptly seated by the Hostess. That is the last we saw of anyone. We sat there for 20 minutes, until 12:35, and no one had come over to take our drink orders or food order. I attempted to waive down the waitress waiting on the neighboring table 3 times, only to be ignored completely by her. At 12:35 we decided to leave as we felt 20 minutes was long enough to wait for service. On the way out, I told the Hostess that we were leaving because no one had waited on us, and her response was "duh, oh ...OK".

The next day I contacted Ruby Tuesdays via their web-site and related this story. The same day I received an auto response from corporate saying someone would be in contact with me regarding this matter. It is now a week later, and guess what? I've never heard from Ruby Tuesdays. I guess I shouldn't be concerned by the restaurants lack of customer care or concern, as it would appear to be a part of the corporate culture to ignore customers and complaints. So, if you are thinking of going to the Ruby Tuesdays in Moosic at Montage, do yourself a favor and stay away! Pick another restaurant, any other restaurant!

Poor service on two occasions

GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA -- I have been to your Greensboro (Wendover Rd) restaurant twice and I will not be returning to your establishment again. Your service has been slow, your wait staff has been unconcerned and your food isn't worth the extra battle my husband and I have experienced trying to get some reasonable service.

On our first visit, we were not waited on for 5 minutes. Finally, we waved down a waiter who said he'd assist us, even though we weren't in his section. We understood that it was busy, but it wasn't too busy to receive service. The second visit was spurred by the receipt of a $5 off coupon. My husband and I sat at the bar and waited 5 minutes (again!) before my husband waved down the bartender, who was flirting with a customer at the bar. After the bartender took our order, we only saw him flirting w/ the woman at the bar. The manager had to bring our food & pour our refills. He even brought our bill. Needless to say, the bartender didn't get much of a tip.

I have been advised that other customers in this area have experienced similar service issues. Perhaps you do not have enough staff during busy hours or you have high turnover. Either way, I wanted to let you know why I would not be returning to your restaurant. Thank you for your time.

Resolution Update 03/07/2010:

Resolved, but not really.

Service Is Getting Worse and Worse
By -

HANOVER, PENNSYLVANIA -- The Ruby Tuesday in Hanover, PA used to be my favorite place. About a year ago the Shrimp Pasta starting being served with less and less sauce, then the food was not really cooked (for a while it was served on a nice square heated dish - then just thrown on a cold square plate) and the serving seemed to shrink. Last night I ordered this same meal to go, and asked for extra sauce knowing how things have been.

I received my order, drove home to find that: No extra sauce and minimal amount on food. Noodles were "cold" and almost hard. No bread. No napkins, knife, fork or spoon. I called the store and asked to speak to the manager, after being on hold for 15 min I just hung up and drove back to Ruby Tuesdays. Yes, I was upset. Manager said if I would have called her this could have been handled on the phone. That did it - I blew up at that point. Told her I called and was on hold for 15 min.

She offered to make a new meal - I declined (afraid of what they might do). I got my money back and went down the street to Red Lobster to find that they also have a similar (larger) serving, different pasta and many smaller shrimp. I ordered this to go, and also got fries, bread, napkins and knife, fork and spoon for $1.50 less and when I got home it was "hot", no cold, hard pasta. I am finished with the Hanover, PA Ruby Tuesday!!

Great Service/food

MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN -- I just wanted to compliment this particular restaurant in our area for superb service and food. My family normally dines out 3 times a week and we have always had perfect service at this restaurant. Drinks are always full, food comes out quickly, dirty dishes are always cleared away, floors always clean, and they are so good with my kids. The staff is very friendly-eye contact from everyone you have contact with. They genuinely care about the customers. Our area is saturated with restaurants and good service is rare these days. I just want to recommend these people as they deserve my business and will continue to keep me coming back.
