TIPP CITY, OHIO -- I had sent a payment to Time Warner on June 14th (my account was closed for a couple months) that was supposed to go to Verizon Wireless (my mistake). I then called Time Warner on the 20th of June to get a refund, was told it would be 3-5 weeks for a check. After 5 weeks I called back and was told the first representative filled out the form wrong and it would be here by July 30th!
Well on July 30th no check! So I called back and was told I needed to fax a proof of payment form from the bank so I went the following day to the bank and faxed the forms and the bank manager called Time Warner. He talked to Aaron in billing employee number SWOABUSBY and was told the money would be direct deposited in 3-5 business days and it never come!
Well I called back today the 6th of August and was told the check is being mailed and it will be 3-5 weeks again! Nothing but SCUM!

ROCHESTER, NEW YORK -- Ohhhhh my gosh, I worked for Time Warner 5 years ago in Rochester, NY. They did nothing but drill into me the importance of good customer service. Well today's experience was horrifying, not only was I on the phone for 2 hours taking care of a payment that was messed up, I was transferred to department after department, placed on hold, hung up on.Talked to people in Buffalo and Texas, yet I live in Rochester, NY. They were EXTREMELY RUDE. 3 hours later my cable still isn't on. Every time I asked for a supervisor I was hung up on.

The sad thing is cable is no longer a luxury, it is a necessity and Time Warner knows this, so they treat their customers like crap.

DALLAS, TEXAS -- I canceled my subscription with Time Warner Cable over a month ago and was told I had a small credit for the period I had paid for. The fact that I had 6 outages in the space of 3 months coupled with terrible customer service is not the main reason for the 1 star. The main reason is the fraudulent adding of equipment to my account 3 weeks after I canceled my service. I am being held responsible for a TV cable box when I only had an internet connection and no cable TV and I am also being held responsible for a modem that ceased to work and meant I had to purchase my own modem.

The adding of equipment to my account is nothing short of fraudulent and I have now had at least 6 phone calls with this company in 4 of which I have been told they are going to escalate the problem.
My advice, do not go near this company - if you try to get out of the contract they obviously have no qualms about extracting more money from you by whatever means possible. I am disgusted.

DAYTON, OHIO -- Never again will we deal with Time Warner. I signed up on line for cable & internet for the house I would be moving into in a few weeks. They stated I would NOT be charged until the actual hook-up time; instead, Time Warner hit my checking account immediately and withdrew the full amount plus an installation charge (that was waived in the 'sign-up' deal). I canceled the contract, only to find out that they would not return the first month's fee (plus the installation fee) until 4-6 weeks! I called the T-W office three times, but each person I talk with said it could not be done any faster. I said, "so you can take out my money within one day but you can't return it without 4 weeks going by?" Never again. Never deal with Time Warner.Add reply

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- TW Cable Los Angeles insisted on charging me a gouging $4.99 "downgrade fee" when I had to cancel my subscription to HBO due to financial difficulties. The customer service representative was rude and arrogant and could not care less about taking advantage of someone who was experiencing hardship. I asked to have the fee waived and she absolutely refused. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she rudely said, "everything costs! and a supervisor won't tell you any different!" Everything costs? Are you kidding? DROPPING A SERVICE COSTS MONEY?
