Dish Network - Horrible Ethics!!!!

Lack of Support for Their Reps. - Complaint

CUMMING -- Today I called to cancel my service because the last time I called I was told I didn't have a contract with them. I know it's my responsibility to know if I have a contract but I moved last year and I signed something that the installation guy brought with him, I thought it was just saying he did the installation.

Well it turns out I signed a contract that I had no idea I needed. Because I moved? They say I was told by their representative that I had to renew my contract for two years. No one told me that I had to renew. I have a big problem with the fact that they do not support what their reps tell the customers. I called and talked to a representative who told me I had no contract. But they still want to charge me a cancellation fee.

I will pay the fee but I think they have no ethics!! Don't even use them!!!!!

As you say, you signed a contract. That's all they need to charge you an ETF, and you know that's what these companies will do if they can.

With respect, the responsibility should be yours to read what you sign.

Were you charged otherwise to pay for the move?

When you moved did you also change equipment? Just a move and only a move does not renew the commitment but upgrading the equipment when moves is different

With respect, it is up to anyone signing anything to read what they're signing.

Did you pay anything when you had this said 'move' take place?

Hi bsdn99, my name is Cheri Torres and I work on the Social Media Team at DISH. I can definitely understand your frustration with this. Normally when we setup a DISH Mover we do not require that you sign a 24 month commitment. The only time that we do require a commitment is when we are upgrading equipment as well. I'd be happy to review your account and see why you were given a commitment. Can you please send me a PM or email me directly at Cheri.Torres@Dish.com? I look forward to assisting you.
