SAGINAW, MICHIGAN -- I just bought a new house & of course I was excited to get new furniture. I bought a full house of furniture plus paid for extra warranty. Well 2 weeks after my daughter bed was delivered the frame fell apart. I called service/repair and they told me they could come out but could not promise a set time. Well my husband & I work day shift. I asked if we could be scheduled for evening appointment. They said it would be requested but no guarantee & if they show up with no one home I'll have to pay a service charge.

Well it's not my fault the bed fell apart. I had no idea I was buying low quality furniture. It's only been 2 weeks. This shouldn't be happening. Well they called today to confirm service/repair time & yup it was for 12-3pm. I'm like, “I told you I don't get home until after 3.” They basically said, “Oh well.” So I have to call off work just to get my daughter bed fixed. I don't recommend them to no one & this is not first issue. They also have bad delivery service. We had missing furniture missing pieces etc.

I bought a red pleather 2 piece sectional from Art Van. It hasn't even been a full two years since the purchase and the material has rubbed off so bad on head and seating areas that we will need to replace the entire sectional. I called Art Van to see what they would do and they said I had not purchased a warranty so it was nothing they could do. I said I was willing to pay out of my pocket and to send me to their servicing department for me to set up an appointment. To my dismay I was informed that there is no fix for the sectional (Glad I didn't waste my money on that warranty after all). I have looked into just reupholstering but that will cost more than the purchase price. Don't buy anything from Art Van.

WATERFORD, MICHIGAN -- My experience with art van has always been excellent. The delivery person we had today was exceptional. I will not hesitate to go to art van for all my furniture needs.

MICHIGAN, MICHIGAN -- I purchased a new mattress in January 2019. Within days the mattress was bunching up on the top. I called and had to wait for a
service call to come out and deem it defective. Took 3 months to get a new mattress. I had to return the old one and pick up the new one. Now 6 months later the top is bunching up and the side is collapsing. They refuse to give me a refund unless I jump through hoops again. I'm not taking another day off for their defective products. They are a rip-off.

Gold Protection Plan Purchase

WARREN, MICHIGAN -- I purchased Furniture and purchased the Gold Protection Plan which is the Most expensive and they said it covered everything. Well I got rips and my dog dug into a cushion. The Protection plan stated it covers Rips, Cuts, Punctures. But when I called to make the claim on the cushions they claimed it was misused and would not cover it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY in purchasing any of their protection plans.

HOLLAND, MICHIGAN -- The showroom has what I believe to be made special for showroom. They feel way better. Maybe they did the switch. The salesman said there's a return plan I'd have to purchase if something was wrong. Pick up fee. I should have left at that point. I believe the showroom bed will be the same as what came to me. That's why we try them right? I will never do business with them anymore. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

MR., MICHIGAN -- I have bought a full house of furniture from Art Van in the past 2 years. Since then every piece has broken and falling apart. We have called for service and it is always the same excuses. Parts are not covered. Or the material is just substandard. Will not be returning to Art Van anytime in the future! If I could give Art Van a zero rating I would.

WESTLAND, MICHIGAN -- They sold me a outdoor patio set for full price 1399 plus tax. Little over 6 months after it had metal tears, finish peeling and bubbles on chairs. I want my money back but they are forcing me to spend that money on exchange or store credit for something else. I don't want to buy their garbage furniture anymore so I want my money back. Don't ever buy from Art Van. They are the worst company out there.

ANN ARBOR AND WARREN, MICHIGAN -- Not warranty related and I know your post is old HOWEVER, I now hate Art Van furniture. I purchased a bedroom set and a Bunkbed set. I asked the salesperson if I picked the Bunkbed set up, would they load it and tie it down for me. Oh sure, he said, they will take care of it for you. I get there on my scheduled day and there's a huge sign at the dock. They can help you load but they will not secure it for you and they will not provide any materials (in case you were lied to about them securing it) for you to secure it yourself. Fine whatever.

I wait my turn in line, and wait, and wait, and wait...I get out to see what's taking so long considering I was the first customer at the dock and I am told that my salesperson did not notify anyone in the warehouse that I would be picking up my set and so it was not ready. UGGGHHHH.

I cancelled the entire order. Then got over it and ordered everything all over again online. They don't invoice you right away, nor do they give you the sale price right away. Well, by the time they invoiced me, the sale was over and they would not honor the sale price. Omg, the hate is building. After about a month of waiting on a call about my delivery date, I called. I was told everything was in stock now and they would deliver it the following week. The guys came out, very nice btw, and delivered everything BUT THE BUNKBEDS!!! Mind you, I have already tossed out the old beds in preparation for the new beds.

I called customer service, get bounced around, voicemail multiple times, hang up. Called the home office in Warren, still voicemails and reps saying it's not their department... Anyway, I finally got someone and...They no longer carry the bunk beds and have dropped them from their inventory. But I guess no one felt the need to tell me this, or credit my charge card back. After raising holy heck (politely) at the local store in Ann Arbor, I was able to get a nicer set at the original price I was paying for the other set. But man, I had to fight to get customer service. It's like, once they have your order and money, they don't give a **!

NUMEROUS OUTLETS, MICHIGAN -- This furniture store runs perpetual advertising that features % off sales for furniture and home furnishing accessories including mattresses. The percent off discounts are fraudulent in that they are discounts off fictitious original prices which Art Van call "compare at prices". These prices have no validity by Art Van's own admission that they do not necessarily reflect any real price ever charged by anyone for the items.

Art Van inflates profits by selling "add-ons" such as extended warranties and cleaning/refurbishing products or protections. These items also do not have contents labels, which is illegal as they may cause illness or death if ingested.
