COLUMBUS, OHIO -- I recently moved to the Columbus area in 2008 and needed to replace furniture that I left behind - I visited many furniture stores in the area - and found Bassett Furniture Direct in Columbus, Polaris Parkway area. The furniture here is wonderful and the sales people very knowledgeable - yes they told me 30-45 days delivery and it took more like 50 - but that is fine. I knew what I wanted and could not find it anywhere. At this store I could pretty much design what I wanted for the same cost I would pay at another store, pick my color, my style of chairs, seats included. It was so much fun. I received everything and it was just as I expected it.

I recently went back and spent 1400.00 on a great sofa (still waiting for delivery) and again could design it myself - size, color, legs everything. This is true a gem of a store and fun. Thank you Bassett...

TUPELO, MISSISSIPPI -- We found many many negative posts on Ashley Furniture so we decided not to purchase our furniture there as planned. After spending a whole day driving to several cities looking, we ended up at Bassett Furniture Direct in Tupelo, MS. I detest pushy sales reps and we were greeted by an outgoing, helpful, but too pushy sales woman. After looking for a little while we opened up that we were truly looking to purchase furniture. We ended up purchasing a bedroom suit for our daughter, a long dining room table/chairs and a nice coffee table/end tables for right at $4800 including the tax/$120 delivery charge.

Their website is ** and thus far I am very happy. Our furniture is supposed to be delivered in 2 weeks (02/16/08). I will post a follow-up as to whether we were pleased with the next phase of this major purchase. I really anticipate giving them an A+ but only time will tell. I am sure all the folks who bought at Ashley thought the same thing!! Who would buy expecting anything less. I will post with follow-up details, good or bad.

BRIDGEWATER, MASSACHUSETTS -- Do not buy furniture from them. I received a dining room table that was scratched beyond repair, and 4 out of the 6 chairs were wobbly (plus I had ordered 10 and only 6 came). The re-ordered everything for me, and then proceeded to delivery the wrong table!!! 6 months after my order was made, and after taking 2 vacation days to wait for a delivery, I still only have 1 scratched table that needs to be replaced, and 6 out of the 10 chairs. If you expect good customer service when you are spending $5K or more on furniture, do not go to Bassett!!!!

DELMAR, DELAWARE -- I bought a bedroom set, and it's smelling bad. Even after 3 months, it's bad. We have removed it from the bedroom, due to resp. problems. Store will not replace furniture, because they claim there is no defect. Does anyone else seem to have the same problem, and found a solution for it?
