Pancakes Almost An Inch Thick

DICKSON, TENNESSEE -- With Mama's Pancake Breakfast you get 3 pancakes, one egg any style and bacon or sausage. This review is concerning the pancakes only as the eggs and bacon were perfect. I've eaten this same meal at different locations and at this particular location several times. The pancakes are always delicious. Tonight, they were almost an inch thick and were not fully cooked in the center. In the past the pancakes are always about 3/8's of an inch thick, golden brown and some of the best I've ever eaten. Not tonight. Not kidding...the plate came out and it looked like there was a stack of 10 pancakes. Ridiculous.

Why would anyone make such a stupid change to something that has been good for such a long time? Very disappointed. I will remember to check with the server next time I order to see if they have gone back to the tried and true version.

MILFORD, CONNECTICUT -- I love Cracker Barrel, love the food and store. Also most of the servers are real good and most helpful. But last night was disappointed. Strings had bad taste, fries and string beans very cold. Had the haddock which is always good, and I never had complained. But this has happened in the past, potatoes and veggies cold. Just thought I would bring your attention to it. Because it's a special place and I do like it. Thank you so much. In future if send me any coupons or anything printable. I don't have printer on my computer. Shouldn't be a problem cause you don't send things to print. Get so mad cause so many do and no printer.

Right or Wrong to Switch to All Non-Smoking

JOPLIN, MISSOURI -- Well as a frequent visitor to JOPLIN, MO. Store, they recently went all non-smoking, and I must say I DON'T AGREE with it, and understand that it's a company wide decision.. I'm not a smoker myself but I do believe in individualism and being able to make decisions to one's own body.... Granted that their smoking section is open but it's not fair decision to guests or employees. Then a few days ago I learn the employees can't even smoke no where on the premises nor will they allow them to clock out or take ten minutes to go gather their nerves....

I'm in the customer service field myself like majority of the hard-working people all over the U.S. We all have our own type of "stress ball" relief and only thinking about your guests.... Your employees are what runs your business... you have to give respect to get respect.

Out Again!
By -

FOLEY, ALABAMA -- The restaurant in Foley, Al has left a "bad taste in my mouth again". We have been to this place many times and this is the third time this year we have spent time trying to decide what to order only to hear "Oh we are out of that tonight". We have complained to the manager twice before about this problem and how to simply solve it. Just be sure the waitresses inform the guests of what they are out of when they first greet them at their table. Our waitresses have made us feel it should be no big deal for us to choose something else other than what our taste buds had wanted. I'm losing faith in Cracker Barrel.

Service

CHESAPEAKE, VIRGINIA -- My family and I went to Cracker Barrel this evening to have dinner. My husband and I arrived first and asked for a table for eight. We were told that we would have to wait until all of our party had arrived. My husband and I travel in a motor coach and have never had this experience at any Cracker Barrel. To make the experience worse when we all did arrive, we were told that we would have to wait for another five minutes to be seated because they had to prepare a table. We have always had good service at Cracker Barrel but I am greatly disappointed at the service we had tonight. This was not a busy night in the restaurant. We will not be returning to that Cracker Barrel.

Saying MERRY CHRISTMAS

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE -- Was checking out after a family meal, as we were leaving several of my family members said to the cashier, "Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS, the girl said "sorry we can't say that, we have to say Happy Holidays". I have always thought of CB as a Christian restaurant, but after the Duck Dynasty incident and now this non Christian response to Christmas. My family will NOT be back.

By the way Jesus Christ IS the reason for CHRISTMAS. WITHOUT CHRIST there is no holiday. Sorry, you had pretty good food, but so do a lot of Christian places.

No Way is Poster Accurate
By -

Saw where someone from SC posted that Cracker Barrel was using pre-cooked, frozen products. Said that the dumplings and roast beef gravy were coming in frozen... that's just not accurate. The chicken and dumplings are made fresh daily... dumplings are rolled and cut by hand. The buttermilk biscuits are also made by hand fresh daily, as is the sawmill gravy and grits. Cracker Barrel has held true to their standards since 1969 and I don't see that changing anytime soon... just so you've got the "other" side of the story.

Maple Syrup
By -

NORTH CAROLINA -- I was shocked to realize this morning that CB has substituted the real maple syrup, for a blend of maple and cane (55%/45%). How about offering the real thing for an extra charge? And yes, how sneaky to keep the same bottle. Very disappointing.

People Pleasing?
By -

Yes, the syrup is Fake so is the "People Pleasing." It all comes down to the dollar. If you see a manager that has been with the company over 6-10 years that is a rare find. You see like the syrup, the price is too high so they are eliminated.I know of many, many this has happened to. So continue the "fast track" program, Cracker Barrel and you will get what you pay for. A not so pleased "People."

Sneaky Switch From "Pure Maple Syrup" to "Pure Natural Syrup"
By -

CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE -- Sneaky! Suddenly, Cracker Barrel substituted "100% Pure Natural Syrup" for their "100% Pure Maple Syrup". I understand costs, value, etc., but to sneak it in like that, and even make a deliberate attempt to deceive (the label is designed to appear the same and trick the reader into thinking it's 100% maple) means I will NOT be patronizing Cracker Barrel.
