Good Worker Doing a Very Good Job

HUMBLE, TEXAS -- At the CVS store on Atascosita, Humble, TX, I received exemplary service from the lady there, whose name was **, I believe. I had already stood in two lines to get various county and state documents as I prepared to renew my US passport with my new married name. When I went to CVS, the machine was already full, printing out many photos.

Ms. ** left her other work to bypass the program and allow my photos to be made and printed. She even fixed them to be brighter, because the Passport Service preferred them that way, she said. I was prepared to wait a long time or even have to come back later in the day, but she went the extra mile and got me done within 15 minutes. I appreciate her expertise and her willingness to help a tired lady in her quest.

WELLS, MAINE -- I went to the CVS in Wells, Maine to get film put on a CD. When I got the store, I went to the photo dept. There was no one in the photo dept. I ask for help, I was told I would have to go the checkout and get in line - there was 10 people in each of the 2 lines. I left, I was going to Kennbunk, ME. The same thing there - there was no one in the photo dept., but there was a short line.

When I went to get my CDs, she had the wrong name on them and put the CD's on a CVS CD. I want them on a Kodak CD. I went back to Wells CVS the next day to get the one hour photo at 10 AM. I was told they woud be done at 5PM...I was going to Sanford, Maine for the day. But when I got the Sanford store, I was the Lab was down and they did not know when it would be working.

I had one more film. When I got home, I went to the CVS in Worcester, MA and they lost my negatives. I will never use CVS for my photos again. I sent CVS an email and was told I would have to send to CVS photo. They could NOT pass it on. When I called the 800 number, I just got a runaround.

Photos Should Be Treated Equally!

BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA -- Today I had a weird and funny experience at CVS. I had bad experience with passport photos taken at places such as CVS/Walmart before (one time I had to have the pictures taken three times for a satisfactory result), so I asked a friend, who is a very good photographer, to take an ID photo for me, and he give me a digital photo to print out and cut myself. So I went to CVS, have it printed on Friday.

This morning, after two days, I went there to pick it up. First they couldn't find my pictures, so they had to print it again. Then they asked me $8.99 for it. I told them that I didn't have the picture taken there, I am just printing it like any other picture. The answer I got is that it is passport picture and they are developing it, and I should pay $8.99. What a funny logic.

CVS, you don't rip people's money like that. It costs no more ink (probably less than most other pictures), no more labor to develop those photos. In fact, if you could take the passport pictures well, I'd have been happy to let you do it and give you $8.99. But you can't ask money for other people's work.

MEDFORD, NEW JERSEY -- Today I used the CVS 1-hour photo service and picked up my order for CD copy only. When I got home I found out that I had been given the wrong CD. I had another family's photos. When I called it was explained to me that some other family had my disk but I could come in and they would make a new CD for me. So made another trip and got the new CD. When I got home AGAIN it was the same family's photo's on the new CD. I called again. Manager said "Third time is a charm". Rude and inefficient. I do not recommend using CVS photo services.

One-Hour Photo

WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND -- I dropped off pictures of my friend's new baby to be developed one hour so I would be able to bring her the pictures when I went to see her. That was Wednesday. I picked them up and had every picture had stripes down the middle. I walked back into the store and the women that developed them said, "yeah I noticed that". Then why sell them to me? So I was told to take the pictures, they would keep the negatives and redo them and I could pick them up the next day. So I went to pick them up on Thursday after they called to tell me they were ready and they still had stripes down every single picture.

Apparently they had been having problems with their machine and it was supposedly "fixed" and they couldn't figure out what the problem was. So then the photo cashier says, "if you wait 10 minutes I will make you a new set". I looked at them and saw no stripes, when I got to my friends house I realized they had only given me singles not the doubles I paid for! ARGH! Not only did I not get a refund on the one-hour photo price, I paid for doubles and only received singles!

WOODBRIDGE, VIRGINIA -- This was my first time ordering a picture from CVS. They got it printed off on time and the people were all very friendly. However, when I opened the picture envelope, there were black lines and dots on the picture!!! I am very disappointed, especially since it was for a friend's birthday. I will try to take it back later, but it won't be in time for her birthday. :(

Junk Film

NEW JERSEY -- I recently purchased a four pack of CVS 24 exposure 200 ASA film. Two out of the four rolls broke in my Nikon camera. The first roll broke when I got to the end of the roll. I lost all of the photos. The fourth roll apparently stuck in the camera after I took the second or third photo and kept re-exposing the same section of film. Obviously, the film did not come out of the film can. I lost some really nice photos. Thanks CVS-never again. What a waste!!!

One Hour Photo Printing

LOS ANGELES -- Tuesday afternoon I make a quick run to CVS to have my film scanned into a CD for my photography class due Friday. I told them I would pick it up the next day. I pick it up and pay my $5 or so, but as soon as I get home, I realize that the negatives weren't even mine! Not only that but the CD had only 7 pictures out of the 25 pictures I took! I'm sure I can't personally complain because I don't have my negatives to be reprinted. I had better have my money refunded.

Overcharging for photo processing
By -

LOMITA, CALIFORNIA -- I took my picture and my son's picture for our passports and I edited them both on my computer to make them into a standard size 4 X 6" photo. The CVS clerk said they will charge $7.99 each, even though they are just standard size 4 X 6", they should be 0.29 cents each. They are no different than any other pictures, so why am I being charged nearly 3000% more???
