THIBODAUX, LOUISIANA -- Got DirecTV through AT&T. Paid my bills through AT&T. Had continuous trouble with the service. Calling customer service takes much too long, 30 min to an hour each time. A guy came out and told me he fixed the problem. The same problems continued. Another time customer service acted as if I should troubleshoot their system. I did what I could but couldn't finish because I didn't and DON'T have the time to deal with them.

I canceled my service through AT&T who told me they would waive any cancellation fees. Then I start receiving cancellation bills from DirecTV. This was the 1st correspondence I received that wasn't through AT&T. I called AT&T and they act as if they have no control over DirecTV. Calling DirecTV is even worse. There's always someone I can barely understand on the other end. They want their money and that's all they know. Never mind that I paid bills and often didn't have services. This has been a nightmare from the beginning. Never dealing with AT&T or DirecTV again.

STAUNTON, VIRGINIA -- They are liars. Taught to lie. I was given a confirmation number for a credit to be received at the end of the free promotional 3 month period. They just psychobabble around the issue. More lying more psychobabble. No refund. Do not use DirecTV. AT&T is crooked. I will cancel as have many others. Corporate America is screwing us royal. Bend over everyone.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA -- I wouldn't refer DirecTV to anyone. Their promotions, packages and prices are a gimmick. They've forgotten to bill me twice and then double up on the payments. They don't remove promotions when requested and continue to charge you. Their customer service is wack! They don't return calls, rude and straight-liars. My experience with them has been horrible. I recommend you get a Fire Stick, and kiss these jokers good bye. They will give you a good deal then after 60 months it increases.

VAN ZANDT, TEXAS -- This morning my husband spent approx. 3 hours on the phone with DirecTV/AT&T and MasterCard. There was an extra charge on the DirecTV account for $90. We have had auto pay for a year now and have had zero issues until today. After contacting both companies, the records show that we have paid our bills every single month yet somehow 5 of the 6 DirecTV representatives would not admit to seeing the posted payment. The charge “mysteriously” appeared on our bill. DirecTV initially told him we were not enrolled in auto pay, that was a lie. They told him we did not pay our March bill and AT&T paid it, that was a lie. They told him we were dual enrolled with AT&T services, that was a lie. After several hours talking with 7 different “specialists” 1 representative admitted DirecTV was at fault. First of all, this shows terrible customer relations. Secondly, they tried scamming us for an extra payment for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Lastly, one representative said they chose to precharge us for the month of June when that has not been the case for the past 11 months, which made the bill close to $200. Luckily, we are moving and can cancel our services with DirecTV for good. DirecTV claims to have great customer service and safe secure auto payment but they are mistaken. I've heard nothing but negative comments about this company and I can finally see why. Yeah, they can be affordable but when there's a problem, and there will be, expect many hours of hell and absolutely no help from their end.
Shame on you DIRECTV. Shame on you.

CALIFORNIA -- DIRECTV SUCKS after 11 yrs with them. They are blood suckers of the earth. Do not sign up with them as they will try to suck you in to a contract that was made for them.

MONTICELLO, NEW YORK -- After being a DirecTV customer since 2002 I've watched my bill escalate to a whopping $150 a month. I've called over the years and have gotten small discounts but nothing really money saving. This past year I decided I was no longer going to keep paying the ridiculous bill so I called to cancel. The woman I spoke to said she could give me an offer of $55 a month including Showtime for the next year so I decided that was a good deal and kept my account. With life changes and more bills I decided that I didn't need the TV and could still watch TV through my Netflix account for only $7.99 a month so I cancelled my account in March.

I asked how much I owed on the last bill and offered to pay it and was told that it would be prorated and I would receive a bill in the mail. I sent back all the equipment as directed and got my last bill of $17.26. Went online to pay it and could not get in my account. I then received an email of another bill a week later for the amount of $187. When I called to discuss the bill I was told that $110 early termination fee plus a late fee had been added to the account. When I asked if they could possibly remove it or lower it, they said no and that I had a agreed to those terms. I asked for a supervisor and was told there was no supervisor to talk to.

I said I don't remember anything about an early termination fee when they discounted the bill and was told that it was recorded and it was mandatory that I was told. When I argued the point, they just kept talking over me and reading from the script they have in front of them. I cancelled the account because I couldn't afford the service and because they are a big company that you can't argue with you have to pay more money just to get rid of them. It's a joke. I will never have DirecTV ever again nor will I buy any type of AT&T product.

WEST HILS -- Worst customer service EVER. The actual TV quality is good, DVR is OK and remote is difficult to navigate. On Demand selection marginal at best. Beware of your billing!!! They will wait 3 months to bill you correctly, you will have to call THEM to ask for your bill so you can pay, then you will be charged late fees because they didn't sent you a bill. Then you will pay your bill only to receive a higher bill the following month. Because they are "combining" their services.

Also, you get 3 months free movie channels but if you wait 3 months to cancel them you will be charged for one month and have to wait for a credit. Or you cancel them at 2.5 months therefore not getting the full 3 months free. Also, beware of where they place the Satellite Dish. Good luck people.

MISSOULA, MONTANTA -- The bill is always wrong, they never transfer to the right dept (ever), they don't communicate (tell you it's taken care of but then don't follow through), the technicians are late or don't show up, and every single person who has worked there from the town I live in has hated it. Super high turnover with staff.

This co is what should be used in business classes of everything you can do wrong with employees and with customers. I own a business. I have for two decades and I can't believe this co hasn't tried to change their approach after so many years of complete failure to change how they work with people. Unhappy staff = I don't care about this job = bad customer service? Who knows what the cause is but stories from this place are always negative and have never changed.

I hope management reads this stuff and chooses to restructure it. Cable is becoming obsolete and I'd hate to see any business fail but I can't see them continuing on like this indefinitely. Especially if other companies begin offering service or people decide to drop cable altogether. What a strange company overall.

PENSACOLA, FLORIDA -- Had an appointment on Thurs April 19th for service to be moved to my new home. Technician arrived in afternoon 15 minutes informed me he could not complete job; someone would be out on Monday between noon and 4 pm to complete. It is now 5 pm and after 3 calls, I was told they could reschedule me for next Thurs. So... It takes 7 days for DirecTV to complete a simple service move! Cancelled my service after 17 years with DirecTV. AT&T taking over DirecTV is a customer service nightmare. I used to brag about DirecTV service and how good it was. Never again. You can get better TV and better service elsewhere.
