OLEAN, NEW YORK -- Don't go with Dish. Been a customer for 7 years. Nothing but problems and every time they send someone out you get trapped in another 2 year contract. The customer service is the worst of the worst crappy service with expensive bill. Never again.

I had Dish for 3 years and I had NOTHING but problems from the start. When I called to set it up I was promised 250 channels for 2 years for $55 and also asked them to set up the refer a friend discount that they didn't do for 3 months. At the end of a year my bill went up to $100+ and I was furious. I called and they refused to give me back the price they promised. After some yelling on my part they got it lowered to $70 a month for another 6 months but told me to call back and they would set up something else with a lower price. When I called back before the 6 months was up they outright lied and said I was never promised anything.

They transferred me over to a higher office where that guy called me a liar and refused to give me what their manager had promised. I eventually gave in because I had about 14 months left in my contract and then I could tell them to shove it. After that my equipment started to go out and both of my remotes broke. They wanted to charge me $55 to get new remotes and then another $99 to send someone out to fix it. At the end I had enough. I told them to take their contract and shove it where the sun doesn't shine and I refused to pay my bill.

VIRGINIA -- This is the 1st time I've had satellite and switched after having cable in over 30 years. I wanted to try it since I saw that a lot of my neighbors had it on their houses and thought they must like it. Well after 2 weeks from today, I have contacted technical support 4 times and tonight would be the 5th but I gave up and hung up because I give up. I hate DISH and if I had known how difficult it would be with constantly freezing up on me I would never of signed a contract.

I had added an Internet Carrier when I signed on which is costing me an arm and a leg here in Virginia and I called them a few days ago and increased my coverage in Internet service to try to song of the freezing up issue with the satellite service. It is costing me $10 a month more so I will get better service on my Satellite TV. Hahaha what a laugh. Nothing is better. It's still freezing up!!! I sit down to relax after working all day.

I get maybe 10 minutes in to what I am watching when it freezes up and does not come back without the hopper turning off completely. This is ridiculous. I never had these issues with Infinity and I can't believe I switched over to satellite, if I had only known before signing a 2 year contract, don't sign a contract with DISH!!! Don't switch to satellite. Stay with cable or you will regret it for the rest of your life.

CORAL SPRINGS, FLORIDA -- Been a customer for about 4 yrs. Dish sent independent to install dish. He installed it wrong. Dish had to send another tech to fix. Then worked ok. Now 4 years later dish refuses to repair what their assigned technicians did not install properly. Regardless of who you speak to they tell you their pre-programmed responses and do not rectify the situation. Make you jump through hoops of fire to get system removed, caused damage to building removing their ladder, their tech told me DirecTV is most likely better to use. Promised to remove system and then canceled appointment without telling me. This goes on and on. Worst company.

COLLEGE GROVE, TENNESSEE -- I have been with Dish Network (HD) for about 20yrs. I purchased my own equipment. Dish decided that they would turn my receivers off because my equipment was outdated. They never informed me that they were doing that. They never even ask me. I had to find out what was going on from customer service. I was told that I would receive the hopper at no extra charge and my bill would stay the same. I had just got my bill down to the lowest flex 50 channels because they were raising it every 5 months seem like.

They have done this to me several times. I also got cable wires that wasn't installed outside correctly and you can actually see them plus the ones they cut and they are not covered up. The only problem I have with dish is they continue to lie about what they are going to do and do the opposite. They even took my purchased equipment and remotes after I knew they were mine and I was told I could keep them. I spoke with 3 different reps. about this and nothing has changed.

The only reason I am still with them is because they were and are the only company that is out our way right now and cable isn't available. I truly believe everything these other customers are saying in these reviews. I to wish I would have read them when I first started. I will never recommend them to anyone else because I would be afraid they would do them the same way. I pray that one day another satellite co. will take over and do better. It seem like you can't trust anyone anymore these days. The only reason I am still here is because no one else is here yet.

CULPEPER, VIRGINIA -- Dish service is very poor, I would recommend DirecTV any day. The only reason that I switched, was because DirecTV doesn't serve my area. I mailed my payment before the due date, but my services were interrupted immediately on the due date. My due date was on a Sunday and I am sure no one was processing mail on a Sunday.

DELTA, PENNSYLVANIA -- There was zero other options for cable when we relocated to Pa due to the hubby's job. I've heard horror stories about Dish... and for good reason. You know that running joke about losing your cable every time it rains? That wasn't a joke! It's true. True. True! TRUE!!!

Next, our parents had to move in after we have had cable for a year. To have cable in their rooms added on to our account it wasn't simply an add on charge. We were told that to add another receiver we had to agree to restart the contract for 24 months. We lost that year of time served and that's exactly what have Dish feels like. A prison sentence. Please people... Run, don't look back. Don't look directly at Dish. I think the possibility of you turning to stone is plausible.

I was with Dish for over 10 years. When I got a divorce and tried to cancel the said I could. However they charged me an extra month that I didn't use and said I had to pay. Even sent me to collections. I was loyal to them and this is how they treat me. I tried talking with them but they wouldn't listen. I will never give another dime to them. They are crooks and should be shut down. They have no class.

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA -- I am relocating due to my job. I called Dish to cancel service and they informed me I had a 2 year contract. The new complex I am moving to includes cable so I could not transfer service. Dish representative said was not their problem I am moving so responsible for 1 year of service. I said not very customer service friendly or accommodating or flexible but they did not care. Way to go Dish to add to stress of moving and expenses. Hope you enjoy my 1 year of service money for nothing! Will never, ever recommend you!!!

LA PINE, OREGON -- From the very first day they installed their equipment. Both of my receivers shut down and I have to wait for the whole start up before I can watch TV. This happens at least once a day and most of the time twice or more. This has been going on for more than 8 months, with no help from Dish. Dish is either too stupid or too cheap to fix it.
