We have had our mortgage with Freedom for three years now and have had two issues with our escrow for taxes. The first year, the wrong amount was being held back so we didn't have enough saved to pay the taxes - the extra money we paid went to principal which was OK but we were not able to plan accordingly to pay our full tax bill. It took a month to work through customer service to resolve the issue.

The second issue came two years later after they refinanced us. They sent the tax escrow check to the wrong address so we were not reimbursed for the over $3000 we paid the county in taxes over a month ago. They finally are getting their check back but won't send us the money we are due for another 3 weeks while they run an escrow analysis (hopefully). Overall, their customer service is easy to get a hold of but doesn't call back when they say they will and tell you mistaken information.

MOUNT LAUREL, NEW JERSEY -- Incompetent customer service reps. They have a pulse. They keep a seat warm. I can say nothing positive about my experience with Freedom Mortgage. Though my bank clearly shows payment to FM. Though I showed FM documents to back it up. Though I produced check images. Though I verified correct address. Freedom Mortgage refused to help resolve. If you're looking for tons of junk and spam mail, Freedom Mortgage is your top choice. If you're looking for intelligent knowledgeable conversation, you're better off talking to a door.

1262 WHITEHORSE-HAMILTON SQUARE ROAD BUILDING A, S, NEW JERSEY -- Freedom Mortgage will not produce a payoff quote. Website link does not work, calling Freedom an official request was made. No quote was ever issued. Called today Freedom Mortgage claims they sent a quote (never did) but that it is now expired. Predatory tactics to make it impossible to refinance with another mortgage company. My new mortgage company request for a payoff quote, they have been repeatedly ignored.

USA, MICHIGAN -- Freedom mortgage is currently holding onto thousands of dollars owed to my daughter and her husband for six months now. They sold their house and paid freedom mortgage off. There is a balance due to my daughter and her husband. This company will not let them talk to only representatives and will not even issue them their own notes on their account. They are committing fraud and stealing from consumers. Btw this was a veterans loan.

MT LAUREL, NEW JERSEY -- I don't need to write my whole story. Just judge for yourself - rewiews on sites that collect real reviews versus reviews on sites that have some association with Freedom. Real sites 2 out of 5. Sites with a business association 4.5 out of 5.

Now that's something to consider.

Veterans beware of this company. I was mailed a statement that gave my new monthly impound as being a little lower. I paid this amount without noticing it was next month. Freedom counts this 3 percent difference as a missed payment and lowered my credit by 100 points. When I called to explain what happened they wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor. Veterans don't make a one cent mistake on your payment with this company - they don't care about you or your ability to get another loan.

DALLAS, TEXAS -- I was given misinformation about how to submit a payment. I was misinformed so I called to get the situation handled. When I called the representative told me she apologized, but could not refund to my account, instead she could only apply to the principal. What kind of mess is that? You take it out of my account, but can't put it back. All other mortgage companies are able to simply credit your bank account. I'm looking to find another mortgage co. Asap. If they lack in that capacity, then what else are they behind on??? No, thanks.

Don't waste your time. Every department at Freedom has zero knowledge

COCOA, FLORIDA -- Gave Freedom Mortgage a bad review, on my part, in error. I acted a little too hasty And was more or less made to eat crow, so to speak. I found out that it was an error On my part, by lack of communication. So sorry Freedom. The refi turned out as It should have and went smoothly, even following by mistake. Would highly recommend Freedom Mortgage.
