MINNESOTA -- In 2014 bought a 9 foot Jeldwen French patio door from Menards in Virginia, Mn. 3 months later on a -25 degree night the wind was blowing thru it like it was open. Contacted customer service a technician showed up in mid January 2015 and said my house was out of level and plumb??? Checked door and it was warped on both french doors an inch in the middle, he ordered two new doors had them shipped to my home they were warped right out of the box.

He then ordered a total new door and said it would arrive when they got time to build it, it arrived in July of 2015. Had new door installed by contractor. Now in January 2020 door is again warped and leaking air at the top middle and bottom, contacted customer service and was told door only had a two year warranty and was not covered anymore. DO NOT BUY JELDWEN PRODUCTS. Lesson learned the very hard way. 4500 bucks on two doors that didn't make it 5 years.

I have a Jeld-Wen front door. I wanted to change from brass hinges to brushed stainless. I called Jeld-Wen, got voice mail, left a number for a callback - suppose to be a 30 min wait. Two hours later no call back. I called again, asked for another callback. No call back. Next day I started all over again trying multiple times to get a person and a callback. Sent an email to customer care. Finally got a callback and they said they can't sell to me. I should contact the person that sold me the door. That can't happen since it went out of business.

So I was told to go to Home Depot, they could order it for me. I went to Home Depot and Home Depot sold me a set of EverBrite hinges. They didn't have any Jeld-Wen hinges that looked/matched the ones on my door. Lesson learned. Don't bother with Jeld-Wen doors/windows/whatever they might sell.

WISCONSIN -- We ordered 15 double hung windows through a small business from our home town in Green Bay. We paid our contractor April 25 2018. Finally got word from our contractor that the windows were in town on October 12, 2018. It took 6 months 6 months!!!!!!!! to get 15 windows in????? Our contractor finally installed them December 13 2018. But..... he only had 6 of the 15!!!!! according to him someone only read the first page of the window orders! And then a window was broken. So he told us they are on order...... so here we sit with 5 windows half way done.... he didn't want to wrap the windows until all of them were installed. Finally May 29, 2019 we got word he got the windows. another 5 months to produce 10 windows?????!!!!!!! He finally came to install Sept 4 2019...... he installed 6 of the 10..... they are the wrong windows!!!!!! I don't know whos mistake it is this time!!!!!! Looking at the windows that are installed there are 2 of them with glue/caulk smeared over the glass. What kind of company are you sending that crap to customers. you would think you would want your best looking product going out the doors so you get good ratings!!!!!!!! then there is a window that doesn't latch.... my husband looked at it.... professionals put a right hinge on the left side of the window. what kind of professional window builders are you!!!!!!!!!! Now we will have to sit through the winter with the house half done AGAIN!!!!!!!! how many months this time??????? It takes less time to make a human then it does to make windows. WOW don't waist your money on ordering from this company!!!!!

Jeld-Wen Window Warranty and Product

CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE -- I purchased $50k worth of Jeld-Wen windows and doors for a new whole house construction. Got the ones with a so called "life time warranty"... Smoke and mirrors is correct. It's been 2.5 years now, no one will come. Their company will make the process seem like a gauntlet... And still not come. I've owned Pella previously for 20 years and their process is user friendly and they show up and deliver results.

Jeld-Wen warranty is fake, with obvious tactics to avoid and service and or help. Even stopped a Jeld-Wen service truck on the road, and they simply gave me a service number which is where the games begin, that's the short story, their process is worthy of a Saturday night live skit, it's a complete joke. "Lifetime" means it will take you a lifetime to get actual service and or any kind of results out of the company. 👎🏻Not even one star.

Patio Door

ILLINOIS -- Had a patio door from Jeld-Wen put in 2015. Come January 26 of 2019 we had what they called a polar vortex, temperatures got down to 28 below zero. Had frost on the inside of the glass of the sliding door and the stationary door. Also the channel from which the sliding door slides. Contacted the warranty department, was told to sent pictures which I did then they wanted the receipt sent that then they wanted the whole order. Sent everything to them. Which was about 3 weeks or more. Finally, someone contacted me to tell me that the warranty to see if it defective is longer covered and will I have to pay someone to come out to see if it is. Ask if they had a representative in the area, they said no. Why would you sell a product and have no representation in the area. This is the Chicago area.

NORTH CAROLINA -- Put on hold for over 45 minutes whilst calling Customer Service and all they are playing a message telling me how important my call is and how wonderful their products are. Despite my having emailed the information they requested, as well as a sketch with dimensions showing the misalignment, a week earlier I had to go through the whole process again. Set of patio doors and the dead bolt and latch didn't line up with the cut outs in the passive door. Then they want to know whether it was the lock holes or the passive door cut outs that were in the wrong position. Sorry but I didn't have a set of manufacturing prints on me. Terrible terrible customer service.

Sadly Agree With All the Negative Reviews

We spent almost $10,000 to install Jeld-Wen doors as the Gateway to our home. They came defective so that a team of experts had to come and fix the way they slide. We ordered Sage Brown, which is more like a Sage Purple, and were told by Jen-Wen "customer service" that it's "not a warranty problem." The two women I spoke with at "customer service" were so snooty and condescending it seemed like they would rather be filing their nails somewhere than talking to a customer, much less make them happy. How can a company have SOO MANY bad reviews? We wish we would have seen them before believing that they were a special company. LET THE BUYER BEWARE.

Purchase Impact Windows, Experienced Poor Quality & Worse Customer Support

MELBOURNE BEACH, FLORIDA -- Do not buy Jeld Wen products. Lots of negative reviews on multiple sites, with a 65% negative rating on BBB as of August 2018, particularly for being unresponsive.

Spent $14,700 at Home Depot for products that fail. I have numerous case numbers for the interior solid wood doors, a failed impact window right out of the box and now an impact sliding window that leaked causing collateral damage to my wood floors and surrounding areas.

Jeld Wen has denied my claim stating it is outside of the TWO-year labor warranty even refusing to send parts I requested even with the slider under a supposed lifetime warranty. Very UNRESPONSIVE, good luck getting them to call you back. It takes repeated follow up to get support and yields no satisfactory results.

About their interior doors, simply put, they warp! Bought 5 interior pre-hung doors three years ago, two of them warped within the first year and one warped after two years.

Before you buy, do yourself a favor by conducting more research. You will learn that an overwhelming majority of web reviews are NEGATIVE.

The worst thing about Jeld Wen is not their product, it's their unresponsive and ineffective customer support! For such a big company, they fall well short of reasonable expectations.

Jeld Wen sells volume, not quality.

I filed a complaint with the BBB August 28, 2018 and to date September 11, 2018, there has been no response from Jeld-Wen. No Surprise!

Horrible Customer Service and Poor Product Quality

CHAROLETTE, OKLAHOMA -- We purchased Jeld-Wen windows for our house and in less than a year they started leaking. We had an account representative come out with the building supply company who provided them and after 6 months of trying to get them fixed they leaked again. The next time someone actually came to look at the issues it was about 6 months, and so on.

After 3 years I still have a leaking window due to poor construction of the window and the seal. When I called customer service we were told the warranty expired. Due to poor customer service and delays by their account representative they were able to not follow thru and make us pay for their poor products to replace. I do not recommend their products, this is the 5th window of theirs that had issues and they are no help.

BLUE DIAMOND, NEVADA -- I bought two pocket doors at HD and installed them. However, one of the doors had the hardware removed. I did not think this was a big deal as Jeld-Wen is a large and I thought reliable company. I called Jeld-Wen to get replacement hardware. They would not speak with me, even to confirm whether I could get the hardware or not, without sending them my receipt. Of course, that had been thrown out a couple of weeks ago. Finally located a copy and now they are unable to locate the hardware. The doors had been sitting at HD since 2011 (now 2018). Apparently they no longer make the parts. Most unhappy with Jeld-Wen.
