Top Quality Paint

NEWNAN, GEORGIA -- I took my car to Maaco in Newnan, GA because I saw a TV ad for a $249 paint job. I couldn't believe anybody could paint a car for that price. I priced the paint at the automotive paint store and it was $175 just for the paint. That didn't include the primer, clear or any material for prep. The salesman told me the TV ad didn't include prep, but they had a prep package on sale for $99. I got my whole car painted for $349 it looks awesome. I had gone to another body shop to get a quote and they told me it was going to cost $2500. I mean wholly cow Maaco did it for a fraction of what the other place quoted me. If you want a nice job for a great price go to Maaco.

Great Job -- People Educate Yourselves Before Saying Ignorant Comments

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL, FLORIDA -- I needed a paint job and went shopping around at many places since budget was very tight. Went to many places and most of the body shops charged me over 3000$. For a 2002 ford mustang surely not worth it. Visited a Maaco and gave me the price I was looking for. Decided to take a gamble with them and couldn't be happier. Not only did I pay 600 for a very good job, but the service was good and they surely understood my situation. for all the people putting Maaco down like that, if money is a problem for you and you need a paint job take it to Maaco but don't be expecting that your 1990 car is going to look like the way it used to 20 years ago.

You get what you pay for and to be honest their quality was not bad at all. Exceeded my expectations. The false advertising issue did make an impression on me but after being carefully educated by the sales representative I understood everything. They will do it for the price they advertise if requested. There ain't such thing as free lunch people! This is something we all know by heart!

Maaco Paint Job Omaha Ne
By -

I paid $1600.00 to have my car painted. This was to include body prep & sanding & buffing after the paint job. When I picked the car up it had buffing compound all over it, most of which was not even buffed. After I left it for another day to fix the problem, it still has dirt all over the car into the paint. It has several orange peel spots. When I asked Tyler one of the mgrs. what they were going to do about it, he told me all paint jobs have orange peels in them & that I could go next door to the new Chevy dealership & see the same thing on new cars.

Great customer service. You should have been there to see how nice he was when he took my $1600 dollars. No wonder this site is so full of pissed off people. I paid $1600 for a $700 paint job. I should have paid $3000 & had it done right the first time. I'm more pissed about the poor attitude of their mgr., than I am about the lousy paint job. That should tell you something.

Very Happy, and a Great Price
By -

STERLING, VIRGINIA -- I recently took my 1985 Celica convertible to MAACO of Sterling. A rare west coast car with no rust but badly faded red paint. Met with Steve the Owner who took his time looking at my car then explaining my options. I chose #3 out of 4 in paint job rank. Can't remember the name. Anyway they had a half price special on a cheaper paint job which Steve gave me the same deal on the better. I opted for the body prep, which included a lot of sanding of deep hips on the front $129.

Anyway total price with tax 444 Dollars. I could not believe it. That's four hundred forty four bucks. I was uneasy taking it in, and on a tight budget. The car looks like new, I mean perfect, lipstick Red, smooth and even paint job. He even painted my grill black which was grey upon request at no extra charge. A private body shop would not even talk to me for under 1500. My car turns heads. I could not be happier, a great paint job at a bargain price, I almost feel guilty. Could not be Happier.

Maaco Frazer Stole or Lost My Emblems
By -

FRAZER, PENNSYLVANIA -- Please be warned that upon pick up of vehicle we were missing all emblems. The company said nothing when the vehicle left the premises. The vehicle owner received the car and noticed immediately that all emblems were missing. Call was placed to Maaco Frazer and employees stated that the emblems should be in the vehicle "somewhere." Once the car was thoroughly searched, a call was placed once again to report the missing emblems. Employees checked the premises and subsequently stated that the vehicle had no emblems when it came in. We have a photo of this car showing at least one of the emblems and the vehicle owner is extremely observant.

Maaco Frazer reports having video surveillance to confirm that there were no emblems however refused to show it and called the vehicle owner a "liar." The Maaco Frazer owner said he would order new emblems, fire the accused employee and have this employee "come after me" for accusing him of stealing the emblems. Again, the owner refused to show the video when asked to produce. A very sleazy and shady operation.

Not All of Them Are Bad

MANASSAS, VIRGINIA -- I have a 1979 Corvette that I have been re- doing not for a show car but a driver. I did all the mechanical work as well as the interior, however wanted to get the car repainted because the old paint was shot. I started going around the area and was getting prices from $3,000 to $7,000 to jamb and paint the vehicle.

Well like I said I did not want a trailer queen. I want to drive this car but it does have to look good. That is when I went to the Maaco located in Manassas Virginia and spoke with the owner John. He was able to seal and prime the whole car as well as jamb the doors and hood and paint it in a metallic PPG paint with clear coat all for $1,200 and remember $400.00 of that price was to jamb the vehicle (Color Change). Well all I can say is the paint looks so good. I have actually put the vehicle into a local show and took a second place with it.

All I kept hearing from people at the show is who painted the car and when I told them they did not believe me. So to keep a long story short just remember look around but please give Maaco a try because they are not all the same and you just might be surprised what you find. Oh ya almost forgot I also got a 4 year warranty with the job.

Great Corporate Care - but Terrible Shop Work
By -

GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA -- Took our car to have repairs made on the front end and have the car completely painted. The first time we were called to come and pick up the car it was painted the wrong color. Owner, manager, said that the paint guy was mad and was going to quit so he did that on purpose. The second time we were called to come and pick up the car the trim had not been painted and a piece was still broke on the hood. Third time we went to pick up the car there was a run-in the paint and the new hood didn't center on the front where the headlights come up. They were supposed to fix the headlights and they didn't but the cost of repairs didn't come down either.

What started out to be a $1600 quote ended up costing over $2000. AND the hood flew up on us later and busted the windshield. Two other body shops and the insurance company stated that it was due to faulty workmanship. I am just stating facts - not my opinions above. We were getting this car fixed up for our 16 yr old daughter. She could have been seriously injured. In the month that they had our car they went through three painters. In my opinion... Stay away from the Gainesville GA Maaco. Plus the paint has already begun to bubble on the headlights (they are they type that open and close).

Do not give Maaco your money
By -

STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK -- I wanted to paint my Mustang the same color as there was some rust forming on the hood and thought I could trust MAACO on Staten Island, NY; boy was I wrong! Yes they fixed the dings & painted, but they 'unfixed' other things. I re-painted car the same color & opted for the superior job... the third one on the scale of four options. This was in March of 2007. Needless to say... they cracked my windshield but did not take responsibility; left tape covering exhaust pipe, gas tank & a few other places.

I still can't get tape off the back window; interior has black paint splotches; headlights, taillights & side windows have paint backsplash that will not come off; paint is too easily scratched (mind you it has been 6 months since service), paint fissures have appeared not too soon after getting car back & chips fall off should another uncaring driver hit car with door.... Let me see what else? Oh yes they made themselves at home listening to my car's radio.

Ladies & Gentlemen I basically could have poured my money down the drain b/c I ended up paying more for the repairs & car looks like I never had it painted, well except for the missing rust on roof & the new windshield I had to install...

Do Not Trust the Ads Ever!
By -

ANDERSON, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I have a 95 z28 that was mint but got scratched in a parking lot. I went to Maaco in Anderson SC. I chose the top of the line deal plus ALL the bells totaled over 600.00 to repaint it the original red (only the lower 2/3 of the car). When I went to get car it had noticeable flaws (paint drips, overspray, bubbles, and tiny scratches over the whole car). I told them I was not happy and they said they would fix it plus they said the scratches were from the compounding, ( this was offered to give a better finish) FOR 100.00 but ruined it

After 2 weeks I went again to get the car and surprise it was a mess new spots of damage drips, etc. not minor stuff very visible so I again refused it. Hey said they would fix it 4 weeks later same results it was a mess. By now I was truly not happy. I told them they needed to resand it and redo the job correctly... I was told, "No we redid it 2 times and we will not redo it again." I called corporate. They informed me it is up to the store the people at corporate cannot do anything about it.

Truly a bad experience for me. And to the flamers that may say you get what you pay for, well, at a normal paint shop it would have cost me about 1,000.00 not that different in price. I just trusted the advertising. After all this I feel like 4 monkeys with spray paint could do it better.

My Mother's Honda Civic
By -

5670 KEARNY VILLA, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- My mother and I just took her 1997 used Honda Civic. (She bought in 2004, but it was already showing Arizona sun, ding and dent damage, the paint was finally peeling from both bumpers, hairline cracks in the hood, dings from numerous other car doors. The hood had a major dent from shutting it too hard.)

We were treated above and beyond our expectations. The service was stellar and the car's finish outstanding! The paint job is immaculate and the service was impeccable! These people treated us like V.I.P.s. They helped us get home when we first dropped off the car and when it was done. They were so personable and professional. They take pride in what they do, and they should.
