STUART, FLORIDA -- Logged onto Papa John's website to order a pizza online. Upon submitting my address a message told me that I had an 'invalid address'. The location I submitted was for a building that is 39 years old. That's older than this inefficient pizza company has been in business. So I called, ordered a pizza only to have it not delivered. I called after 1.5 hours to find out where it was. I was told that I did not answer my door and that the delivery moron had talked to my neighbor. I only have one and they drew a blank expression when I asked if this occurred. No such conversation occurred.

CINCINNATI, OHIO -- I order a pizza from the online website. I usually order the meat toppers, but this time I wanted to try something new. When it arrived it looked burned, all my ingredients were not on the pizza. I called the store that made the pizza and what he said is that he measured out the ingredients on the pizza and he put exactly what was ordered. In actuality there is no way that this pizza should look and taste as it does, and all the ingredients were not put on my pizza. I need to be compensated for the mess that they brought to me. I will be real hesitant to order from Papa John's pizza again!! What a waste. I do believe that it has a different management working there, because I have never had this problem in the past.

Customer Is Always Right but Not at Papa John's

STATE COLLEGE, PENNSYLVANIA -- My recent visit to Papa Johns on North Atherton Street in State College PA was less than good. The woman that rang up my order overcharged me for my pizza and wings and when I informed her that the bill was too high she blamed the computer and showed me the monitor screen which was still wrong. This would not have been too bad if she would have just fixed my order but that she knew the amount was wrong when she tried to overcharge me.

When I informed the manager that his employee knowingly overcharged me and only fixed it because I pointed it out to her, he told me that she didn't. I again told him that she did and he still did not care to hear it. At approximately 4:20 pm today 3/24/12 I informed the manager that I could not give him my business and asked for my money to be returned.

What manager would not even question an employee that was accused of trying to cheat a customer? Maybe he just didn't care. It is expensive enough to try to get something special for me and my son without getting ripped off by dishonest people.

Condiments

SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA -- I find it so insulting that I only receive 1 container of garlic butter along with 1 banana pepper per pizza. Now, my family and myself ordered "The Works" extra large pizza which has tons of toppings along with an additional extra large pizza. I was very insulted to find out we were only receiving 1 of each condiment for this. We spent over $30+ on this order and any extra condiments we were charged for.

I think if you want to keep customers, if a customer has a large order such as this, these condiments should come automatically at no extra charge. It's a shame that we would receive the same amount of condiments for 2 extra large pizzas as we would a small pizza. Something needs to be evaluated. This policy needs to be re-evaluated.

PITTSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA -- Last Saturday I decided to stop into Papa Johns and give them a try. It was about 2 pm, so I figured I would not have to wait long. When I walked in, there was one lady ahead of me, but nobody at the counter. I figured they were getting her pizza. After about 2-4 minutes, someone finally started walking to the front. He was in no rush that two people were at the counter. He stopped to talk to a few people on the way. Then this guy seemed clueless on how to enter the lady's order into the computer. After waiting another 3-4 minutes, I walked out.

I drove to Domino's and ordered a great pizza. It was awesome!!! After getting home, I went onto the Papa Johns website to complain. I promptly received an email saying that they forwarded my complaint to the owners/managers of that store. After one week, the owners/managers have not contacted me. Now I see why their employees do not care about customers, because the owners/managers do not care. I would stay away from Papa Johns. Why give you hard earned money to people that don't care about you. Stick with Elizabeth's or Domino's.

Terrible Terrible Service!!!

CHARLES TOWN, WEST VIRGINIA -- Ordered pizza from Papa John's in Charles Town WV today. I had it delivered for convenience, because I thought that was why they had that service. When the delivery man came we tried to pay him with 100.00 dollar bill, he said he could not accept it, that was all fine and dandy, so we went to the local 7-11 to break the 100 and proceeded to the store to pay for our now cold pizza.

They gave us our total with the delivery fee, however we didn't feel we should pay the delivery fee considering we did not receive our pizza at our residence and had to go to the store to pick up. When we told the manager we weren't paying the delivery fee he said he could not take it off. We said "OK!!! Well congratulation you are the proud owner of two large pizzas." I will not be doing business with them ever again! BUT IT'S OK. I WAS IN THE MOOD FOR KINGS PIZZA ANY WAYS...

Quality has really deteriorated

CHANDLER, ARIZONA -- We had always found Papa John's Pizza to be the best of the chain pizza stores, in the sense it was acceptable. No more! The last pizza we had had pastry which was real doughy, floppy, but call it what you want, it was downright unappetizing. The toppings were fine but that is no excuse for such poor and soggy crust. Either they have changed their recipe or cook to where most frozen pizzas are better, but we will try them again in a year or so and if they have not improved will strike them off our list. On a more positive note we still found their staff to be friendly and helpful - too bad they have to deal with poor quality.

A Starving Pregnant Woman Is Not a Very Happy Woman

ALGONQUIN, ILLINOIS -- Tonight I decided to order Papa John's for supper. Since I ordered online, I received an email confirmation with an estimated delivery time of 35-45 minutes. When an hour passed, I wasn't surprised. After all, it's Sunday, there's a lot of football games on, and pizza and football seem to go together like milk and cookies. But, when 90 minutes had passed, I was getting irritated (not to mention hungry).

I called the restaurant and was told that it would be delivered shortly. Ten minutes later, the doorbell rang and the delivery guy handed me a pizza without so much as a hello or have a nice day (yeah, enjoy your tip, jerk). I open up the pizza and immediately notice two things wrong. First, it's stone cold! I HATE stone cold pizza unless it's coming out of my fridge. Second, it's the wrong pizza. I look on the side of the box and notice it's addressed to a different house! THIS IS NOT MY PIZZA! Oh, you know it's on then.

I call up and speak to the manager who blames it on the driver, saying it's been going on all night. Riiiiiight. She offers to comp my order and give me a free pizza for the next time. I tell her that I want my correct pizza. She tells me that she can do that but it'll be at least 45 minutes to an hour. WTF?! You have a hungry pregnant woman who just might be the first to accomplish a transphone strangling and you're going to make her wait an hour for her food?! As of right now, we are 15 minutes post phone call. That pizza had better be here in 45 minutes or there's no telling what me and my raging hormones will do!

Rude Employees at Papa John's Gaithersburg

GAITHERSBURG, MARYLAND -- I had a really bad experience at Papa Johns Gaithersburg. I ordered online for the first time and when I went to pick it up, there were all sorts of toppings on my pizza. When I told them that, they told me very rudely that they put what ever I ordered over the internet. They read out the list of toppings without even properly looking at the pizza still insisting that the order was right. There were clearly pineapple and other stuff on the pizza which I didn't want.

Finally one employee asked me to wait for another 20 minutes if I wanted another pizza. I said no thanks and wanted a refund, and they couldn't give me that also since I paid via their website. So I walked across the street and got a pizza from Pizza Hut. Now I have to check my bank account to make sure that the money for the pizza is refunded. People do make mistakes but some people hate to admit that and try to act like they own the business. This place is certainly not recommended to have a happy pizza. Instead try the hand toss pizza at Pizza Hut across the street which tastes great and have better people serving them.

Contaminated Pizza/Poor Response
By -

IRVING, TEXAS -- I ordered a veggie pizza and while eating found a piece of meat. Not good. For a vegetarian like me it ruins your appetite. Just to let the store know about it so that they can be careful I called them. The store's response to the incident is what I find more objectionable. All I got "it is Friday night and it happens". No sorry, no apology, no assurance that they will be more careful and try this does not happen again. Just "it happens and we can replace your pizza". This is no way to treat your customers and is not the right way to run any business. Just shows how much the store manager cares about the customer.
