CHARLOTTE NC THEN CLEARWATER FLA, FLORIDA -- Ok let me preface this review by stating, my initial experience with Platinum from 10/2016 with the Charlotte, NC location was phenomenal especially Ms. Debbie. She was awesome & I only called to make a payment (which was never late nor missed). I received an email from Platinum Finance (Melissa **) on 7/16/18 stating this is new contact info. (Florida location). I was like oh ok.
Fast forward to 10/8/18. I'm in an accident, car deemed total loss by State Farm. My car payment was due on 10/12, State Farm sends me correspondence stating it's a total loss. No payment was made. State Farm called to obtain pay off. 10/22 check mailed to Platinum, they were aware that vehicle was being a loss but I was still receiving “Friendly reminders” to pay. I spoke to multiple reps advising there's an active claim and that a check should be received and to prevent a late payment being reported to my credit because I'd never been late or missed a payment.
I was placed on an extensive hold and told check not received. State Farm provided me copy of cancelled check. I emailed the individual mentioned above re: new contact person etc. Initial response was in a timely manner. The subsequent emails were not responded too & I was advised the claim for gap insurance was going to be filed on 10/5 but I called SafeGuard today & there was no claim on file. She did say they received check on 10/30, I knew that hence “copy of cancelled check”.
Now I've been calling all morning attempting to obtain documents needed for gap claim and no one is liters answering. It keeps going to a “Fernando” voicemail when you select option 4 for customer service. Yes I'm writing this extensive review because CarMax won't finance a vehicle because the totaled vehicle still shows on my credit as if I still have it in my possession.
Beyond frustrated, I'm pissed!!! Insert EVERY expletive and derogatory word imaginable. Can you imagine doing everything that needed to be done in a timely manner to ensure no delays in processing only to find out the one thing you depended on someone to do, wasn't done. So you take the initiative to do so and you can't reach the dept to obtain info needed so the claim to be reviewed by another adjuster. And you're in a new city alone with no transportation & no access to public transportation in your immediate area and you're utilizing Uber when you literally trust no one because the world so messed up.
Yeah they suck and this is dealing with this particular office since 10/18/18. The local Charlotte office were kind, knowledgeable, busy but still retained the sense of customer service in spite of, they were respectful and remembered your name. Most of all you felt APPRECIATED!!!
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I must say when Charlotte NC had the loans I thank them for allowing me to get a loan with their company and I will say that it was a big mistake when they gave all the accounts to Clearwater Florida because they are rude and demand for your personal information such as medical papers. I am trying my best to get another car and go thru someone else cause they are rude as hell and it makes no sense because if we as people have all the money in the world we would not need a FINANCE company. We can go pay cash off the car lots and I mean the big car lots. They don't want to work with you unless you get someone else from there that's nice.
CLEARWATER/FLORIDA, FLORIDA -- Worst customer service by two different associates, I was confused regarding my payments. First I spoke to a guy at 11:29 am 10/8/18 and my call got disconnected due to the service and when I was trying to call back he kept hanging up the phone for 4 times in a row. Finally I spoke to a lady and she got upset because I was confused and told me I have to get to Google to see how things work. I got upset and I answered blandly too due to my frustration. I come from customer service and honestly never been this rude to anyone.
Honestly can't wait to pay off my car to get rid of you guys. Never had an issue on the past. Every time I call I always have someone generous and cool, the lady who I spoke was at 11:36 am 10/08/18 for 5 minutes too. I hope they can learn how to treat customers because honestly customers doesn't go by. Yes a lady treated me bad. No they go by. Platinum Finance doesn't treat fair their customers. Have a nice day.
CLEAR WATER, FLORIDA -- Spoke to a Mel Fitz ** a very disrespectful rude lady. My husband called asking some questions about our options on possibly having to return our vehicle and she went full blown crazy on him literally demanding that we continue payments immediately or they WILL find another way to get that money from us. She referred to him as "dude". I asked to speak to a manager and she refused to put one on, I said, “I have all day and will continue to call back and ask for one” and her reply was "well I get paid by the hour and will be here till 7 so I have all day too". Completely condescending and laughing while I spoke. Terrible services.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I have found in dealing with Platinum Auto Finance the rule is simply give them people their ** and you won't have no problems. I have not experienced any one being rude to me. I only received good customer service. They answer the phone is quick and the people are always nice at the other end. I feel sorry for the people here who cannot pay their bill and got room service as a result. I hope that I'm able to finish my car payments without having such problems. I just wanted to put a good rating up here because they really are not all that bad and some of the ratings are really really bad and the bad ones are from people who can't pay the bill.
They are running a business and so of course they are going to want money and they are not going to take everybody's problems as personally as they would their own but most likely if someone was being rude it was because the person was asking them to do something that was not possible for them to do over and over again. I think Platinum Auto Finance is a good company to work with. Thank you for reading to the end.
CLEARWATER, INDIANA -- This is a very heartless company. My father died and had paid off a loan with Platinum a few years earlier. There is a lien still on the car and the Indiana BMV requires a simple letter from the company stating that the loan was paid off. They completely refused. These people would not take 2 minutes out of their day to help. They are worried about some sort of legal repercussion. THIS IS A HEARTLESS COMPANY. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- Like most of the other reviews, my experience with Platinum Auto Finance has been a headache. They call when I do and don't owe money. They don't care about your issues or what's going on even though they ask you that. My mother was in the hospital with cancer, and I had to go back and forth to visit her. They even held on to my card number which they're not suppose to do. They authorized more than one payment on that, even after telling me it would not be on file, that's theft!!! Which makes me wonder what else they'll do that you don't know about. They claim there's no way to verify what was said, but all calls are recorded.
DON'T GO THROUGH THESE PEOPLE!!! I fell behind once and they were ready to repo my car, I mean what the hell. The managers are absolutely rude. THEY ARE OUT FOR YOUR MONEY AND WILL LEAVE YOU IN THE DUST!! PLEASE, PLEASE BEWARE! They work with dealerships to sell who work with people who have bad credit only to screw when something happens. They don't care about you or helping your credit rise. They act like they do but they don't.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I look at the other reviews and I think mine is no different from them. Sadly, after such a big struggle with health, no income, being considered "homeless" for a couple of months, we, as many other families have tried to catch up with our financial situation and health as well.
This said, after getting a raise in our rent it became impossible to pay our car. We tried to collect the money asked in order to help us maintain a good credit score but unfortunately, we had to decide between house rent, food and health. This is something that didn't matter to the rude lady that called my husband, yesterday, Wednesday 8/30. Her words, the tone on her voice, very upsetting. On the other hand, one of the gentleman that tried to contact us seemed to be more understanding and even though nothing can be done at this point, I really appreciate the way he treated my husband. It is a shame having to deal with people like this lady.
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I thank God that this company was willing to give me a car loan even though my credit wasn't all that great. The members of that company in the Charlotte location are amazing. Byron, John, Kathy are super. I ran into a situation where I needed to change payment due date and I call Kathy and told her the situation and she told me that she would have to talk to her manager and she called me back in 1 hour and told that it was approved. She is great for going to bat for little old me. Thank you.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I am behind on my car payments. I take responsibility for that, and I am aware that I may lose my car if I can't catch up. I am grown up about my situation; however, I make arrangements with Platinum that are forced upon me and I have gotten called three times in one day after I have made an arrangement on the first phone call!!!
How many of the employees do I have to tell the same thing to in a day? I talked to James, Jose and Tisha all within 2 hours. That's harassment! And Tisha ** had the nerve to tell me "Well if you weren't in deferment, you wouldn't have to worry about these calls." How professional is that to be with a client? I can't wait til I am blessed out of their company.
