Intermittent service

223 MANHATTAN ,AVE. OAK RIDGE, TENNESSEE -- I have installed from the factory, unit 00180002 in a 2011 Mercury Mariner Hybrid, bought it new. It was initially set up by a sales representative at Ted Russell Ford in Knoxville, TN. After the free trial period, we were billed @ 129 bucks for a year's renewal. Twice since then, I have been back to the dealership to have it re-installed. When I call or the dealer calls this number 1-866-584-7474, you are talking to someone different every time and they aren't too smart. Mostly Canadians.

I paid for a years subscription and have enjoyed @ 2 months since my renewal. Check was cashed 4/25/2011. The car has not been worked on, nothing has changed electrically. I am completely dissatisfied with it. I refuse to continue the hassle. I am canceling out. You have a very poor system for modern day electronics.

Sirius Is the Worst Customer Service Ever
By -

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- They turned me over to a collection agency, because I emailed that I wasn't renewing the service on a car I was trading in. They said I had to "call" to cancel the service. But when you call, you are on hold for 30-60 minutes. When I got through, you are dealing with someone in Thailand or India, who you can barely understand. So they've outsourced American jobs, made it damn near impossible to cancel, and then they try to ruin your credit when you don't renew.

STAY AWAY FROM SIRIUS, UNLESS YOU WANT A LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION THAT YOU CAN NEVER CANCEL. It's like the mafia, once you're in, you're in. Customer service and customer rights are non-existent. Short the stock, because they cannot survive with this kind of customer service IMHO.

Horrible Customer Service!!!
By -

My new Ford Escape came with Sirius Radio for the first six months. I really didn't like most of the channels available, but did enjoy having access to MSNBC. However, it has gotten to the point that there are more commercials on Sirius than on standard commercial radio!!! So, I decided to contact customer service to complain. What a nightmare!!! I ended up complaining more about the customer service experience. Horribly ignorant, rude people.

I waited on hold for so long, my cordless landline battery expired. I told one representative that I was going to file a complaint with the BBB and she said, "Go ahead and make my day." Then I got connected to someone who sounded like an drunk version of Sam Elliot who was so disgusting it absolutely sealed my confidence in my decision to end this service. Don't waste your hard earned dollars on Sirius - what a waste!!!

How late is too late to make a business call
By -

The phone rang at 2052 last night. When I picked up the line, it was a customer service representative from Sirius wanting to know how I was enjoying my service and if I had any questions about the service. I asked her if she knew what time it was. She quoted me the time. I asked why she was making a business call at that hour. She told me it was a computer generated list and she could do nothing about the call except make it. I said if Sirius really wanted my opinion, they could call during normal business hours which are generally between 0900-1700.

Automatic payments

In December of 2009 I purchased gift cards for my daughter in law as a Christmas gift. She entered the info and had service for the year. However last month she was automatically renewed on her credit card which they also had on file. I also was automatically charged for her renewal in Dec. 2010.

When I called they told me that they had explained that I would automatically be renewed. I asked how they could do that on gift cards. They then wanted to know where the gift cards were. I stated she used them which they disagreed with. They finally agreed to cancel the charge to my account although they did charge for usage from the 23rd of Dec. 2010 until today Jan. 14 2011 because they said she had the service on which had nothing to do with me. To summarize, I was automatically charged a recurring fee for 180.00 worth of gift cards. She also was billed for the year on her credit card.

Billing department is TERRIBLE
By -

I paid in advanced for 6 months then when my service was up I didn't want to keep it. SO I called to cancel and they transferred me around and around until I got this lady who said she would cut the rate to 50 for 6 months. I agreed and sent it the 50. Well, they never had my bill straight from then on. After numerous calls, I finally gave up and just this week they cut off my service before the 6 months was up.

Funny thing is I work for Acura and they are in our cars. We have customers all the time with complaints and now I am one of them. I tell my customers never to give them your credit card. They charge people without them knowing and double dip them. I have another guy who bought a lifetime membership that only applies to the radio he has? Crazy! TERRIBLE!

As much as you like the idea of Satellite Radio

Having been a customer since the inception of Sirius Radio I am appalled at the lack of customer service. No one can speak anything but broken English. I had 3 accounts and could never make heads or tails out of which radio I was renewing, when I would call to try to confirm which I was renewing, I would be on hold for over an hour only to give up and just let the radio expire. Now they are sending me to COLLECTIONS for a subscription. Hmmm how is this possible? I will never ever deal with this company again, they are pathetic.

No longer what I paid for

Are they changing Escape to a Rock channel? The Beatles Sound of Silence? Eleanor Rigby? Playing hard driving beats like Chariots of Fire on Sunday morning? Martial music at all hours? That is NOT the "relaxing melodies" that they advertise in their commercials. This doesn't work for me. Neither does all the military music on every holiday, including religious holidays. Why play the National Anthem every hour on Thanksgiving, a holiday that is 150 years older than the United States. Playing the National Anthem like that is disrespectful anyway, you are supposed to stand and salute or put your hand over your heart when it is played.

And if they want to play "patriotic music" all day then please at least play music from good bands - Boston Pops, etc. - not military bands, over and over and over. This has been a great channel for many years, but is deteriorating badly. Even that stupid commercial telling me that commercials ruin my day. If that were true, nobody would run them. How do you think I learned about Satellite Radio? When they give benefits of a product I have to pay for (Satellite Radio's Escape Channel) that is pretty darn "commercial." The rock music is a deal breaker, and if they are going to continue with it I will have to cancel my subscription.

Siriusly Disgusted

Another DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER. I called to cancel one subscription service of a package subscription service I have. As everyone else pointed out, you cannot opt to cancel a service online. It is impossible. Then you call and I was on the phone for literally one hour for the customer service representative from India to tell me I had to be transferred to the cancellation department. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This company is a joke.

I purchased this service for Howard Stern. I listen to his show(s) about 80% of the time. This whole service was supposed to be advertisement free and I spend the other 20% of the time changing the channel so I don't have to listen to his commercials and/or repeats. What a joke. After he's done, I'm canceling for good. Perhaps I should call now because I will probably be placed on hold for the next six months anyway.

Be Warned

Once you are a Sirius customer and they have your money, they are basically done with you. Customer service is a joke. They will tell you that you can cancel at any time to stop charges, except you can't actually get a hold of anyone to cancel it. If they are already doing this to you, take my advice, don't even waste your time calling Sirius, just call your credit card company immediately and have them block the vendor. If you are like me and could not get a hold of Sirius in time to cancel and avoid charges, then dispute the charge. Sirius is a terrible company that sure knows how to make money on you.
