PORTLAND, MAINE -- While trying to add minutes I was on the phone for an hour before they hung up on me. The line was so noisy and the English was so bad I could not understand what was being said. I was sent from one person to another while the line was filled with noise called music. I am getting a new phone even though I have over 1000 minutes left.
WHERE EVER IT IS -- I have filled out an application online and sent in all my papers for the phone. They have sent me an application and I filled that out and sent all my information, and I still did not receive my phone. I'm on Medicare and on social security. I have called them and called them. They said I didn't qualify. I'm handicapped and live alone. They still did not give me a phone. I have wrote them a letter even, and still no phone.
Buying more time online. I had an updated credit card with new security code. Tracfone would not accept new security code. Tried several times. Ended up with 5 (five) charges on card and no minutes or time. Had to wait a very long time for support to answer. Was told by 2nd level support they would not deal with problem. I had to go through bank. I will use up minutes and go to another provider with hopefully better service. It is a useful product until you need help. Would not recommend to a friend.
LONGVIEW, TEXAS -- I purchased a prepaid 60 minutes card for Dollar General for twenty dollars. After I entered the pin number into my phone, the pin number was rejected. I went back into store and told the manager about the problem. First, I was told that there is no refund for these cards; then, she stated that she would try to resolve the problem on the following day. I told her that suppose I purchased a 200 dollar card, what then. I told her that I was going to talk to legal counsel.
I had a lot of trouble making my monthly payments with my old cellphone provider. For minutes and texts and web, I had to pay over one hundred dollars a month even when I barely used 'em. So, I decided to get a prepaid phone and TracFone was my first choice. No complaints, simply that I enjoy the freedom of no contracts and that I can pay as I deem fit, no ridiculous monthly payments. I'm pretty pleased thus far.
TradFone has the world's WORST customer service. Read all these reviews for all the proof you need. Unlike some of the reviews, I had no problems with the phone when the company wasn't dropping my minutes and air time. Trying to resolve an issue with this company is impossible. They do NOT have a customer service location in the United States and all of them speak very difficult to understand English.
MIAMI, FLORIDA -- I am still on hold as I write this complaint. I have been on hold since 4:17 pm and it is now 6:44 pm and all I wanted to know was where are my minutes are and all I get is every 5 or 6 minutes "can you please hold. I am working on your account now." I just automatically say "yeah I'll hold" and here comes the music. Now she just told me something to do and it was wrong. Wow. So she says I will be on hold for another 15 minutes. This is crazy....
So for me I was concerned about getting a phone that my kids could use at school. I was scared it was going to cost me a fortune to get both kids new phones. So I got them each a Samsung TracFone and it was great. I am paying like 50 dollars a month for both of them and I have never heard one problem from them about service or anything like that!
Tracfone advertised free calls to Canada, but after talking 4 times to a representative and e-mailing about our complaint, the issue was never resolved. WE NEVER WERE ABLE TO PHONE CANADA. If you are thinking of buying a Tracfone, just think twice. It was the most frustrating experience we ever had.
