LAKELAND, FLORIDA -- This complaint is being written to you in regard to substandard customer service and inferior professional knowledge in regard to one of your pharmacy technicians. The store in question is located at 6985 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland, FL 33811. The pharmacy technicians name is ** and the floater Pharmacist on duty the night of my problem was an individual named **.

The main issue that I have with your staff and particularly ** is that I was recently placed on a medication that is required to be injected through the subcutaneous route. The first time I had the prescription filled I made it all the way home only to find out that the medication was not dispensed in prefilled syringes€™ but a vial that would need the use of a proper needle and syringe to administer. So I had to go back to the store and after searching for what seemed like ages your pharmacy staff was able to find a 3 CC SQ 26 G 5/8€ needle and syringe. The individual who I dealt with on my initial filling of the prescription was **.

The following month when I went to refill the prescription I was offered insulin syringes which do not even measure in CC increment so how I was supposed to measure 1 cc in an insulin syringe was beyond me. After struggling with your staff one more time I was finally offered the correct syringe. Now the third time I go by the pharmacy and ** again waited on me. She could not find the correct needle/syringe for a SQ injection and even tried to sell me a 20 g 1 ½ inch needle and syringe that is used for an intramuscular injection.

I explained what I needed but she seemed to struggle with the concept of different sized needle and syringes and even that this may be different then an insulin syringe. During this encounter she was extremely rude and impatient with my concerns and when I asked for a response from her she just stared at me without one. When I asked for her supervisor's name she told me his name was **. I then told her "am I supposed to write a letter addressed to **?", to where she again displayed facial discomfort and rudeness but then said his name was **.

Needless to say I have been extremely frustrated by the professionalism displayed by ** and only wonder what would have happened if I wasn'€™t knowledgeable regarding different sized needles and syringes.

This is to inform you that I will no longer be utilizing any services provided by Walgreens to include all products sold through your stores or through the internet. Each month of the first three month of the therapy your insert told me that my insurance had saved me over $4000.00. With an additional 8 month of therapy needed as well as other prescriptions filled at you pharmacy I only wonder how much a profit margin that ** has caused your company in regard to her unprofessional knowledge and demeanor. Please realize that I have dealt with her on many occasions and her demeanor never changes.

Each time that I have had an encounter with her over the last year it is always the same, a sour puss on her face, no eye contact, no greeting, nothing but disdain for the customer and the appearance that she doesn'€™t even want to be there.

I suggest that she be retrained or even fired for her lack of knowledge in regard to different size needles and syringes and realize that you can'€™t just find the medication in the bins, take the money from the customer and go on your merry way. Again, if I was going to save $32,000 over the course of my treatment I wonder how much of a profit margin ** has caused your company.

Politics of "The pharmacy America trust since,1901"

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA -- I am a 32 year old vet (Iraq). Here was my experience at the pharmacy in New Orleans, La. This is the complaint I filled out for their website. This is for the pharmacy at the 4110 General Degaulle drive. New orleans, la. Store. This is the second time I've had this problem. 1st time at this pharmacy, and the reason I stopped and will never do business with Walgreens again. I called while in the parking lot and asked if they had my meds (suboxone 8mg) in stock. (I had to, b/k they done this to me before) a female on the phone said yes.

I told her my prescription was for 180 of them. It is a legit prescription, prescribed by a medical doctor. She said,"yes we have 100 in stock," after checking for me. I got out of my vehicle and went in the store. Went to the pharmacy and they took my prescription. ** comes back to me with an attitude, saying I quote-: "I don't have this many, all I can give you is 30" and he was shaking his head. I said "I just called and yall said yall had 100." (I filled them at Walgreens in the past and got my whole 150 at the time before)

So he replied, "Well (with a series of stuttering and not able to look at me but around me, obviously he was lying.) I can't hold them, I, I, I just can't hold them," implying that he just sold 70 suboxone 8 mg to another customer. No people in line but me and no one walking out, at 10:30 pm. So I said "I will take a partial refill." He acted like he was surprised. So he filled it.

When they called my name a female rang me up and I paid her. I also used my insurance, b/k the meds are expensive. I asked the female clerk for his name and she told me. And I also found out who was. The pharmacy manager who would not be back in until tomorrow. You do have surveillance in the building. Utilize it. You may not be able to hear but you can see the body language and his gestures he used.

I am a very dissatisfied customer. I went to Walgreens tonight b/c I got off work late and my pharmacy was closed. (Chateau drugs. Inc) They would not be my pharmacy if Walgreens didn't do this a first time. It's pretty sad, that"the pharmacy that America trust, since 1901" would give these problems to customers that they value so much. I am going to post this complaint all over the internet, tell every person I know about my experience there, and I might
even be able to get a local reporter interested in this story.

How do you people keep your customers? Even if you don't make a certain amount of money from customers for certain meds, don't mean that I the customer should have to deal with the politics of your pharmacy. I don't care what the problem was. He lied! If you would like to know why I take this medicine, to make a long story short. I served in Iraq, was wounded, prescribed pain killers, got addicted to them, and as a result decided to better my self and take suboxone, which is recommended for me from my doctor. This was a legit prescription and I am a 32 year old vet.

You should really change your logo, the pharmacy America trust, since 1901. to "the pharmacy that people only come to as a late night emergency because we're open 24 hrs". I used to go buy products (food, drinks) from your store. Now I will never set foot in
Walgreens again.

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO -- The Walgreens in Albuquerque, New Mexico seems to have a problem with the pharmacy department. And when you call them on their mistake they just stop helping you and begin to screw with your prescriptions... The worst part is they do it looking right at you. Please do not go to the pharmacy at Harbor and Ventura in Albuquerque, NM if you want to live.

PARMA, OHIO -- I'm a pharmacy tech at Walgreens. My question is did you talk to the same pharmacist? Or were they two different pharmacists? you should take it up with corporate or a district manager or even the pharmacy manager.

Don't get prescriptions from them (overcharging)

I went to Walgreens after going to the doctors and finding my blood pressure to be really high. The pills that I received for the blood pressure were $15.95 for 100 tablets which I thought was a great price. I did have to purchase a membership into their prescription savings club for $20 to get this price. After going back to the doctors in 30 days my blood pressure was still high so I received another prescription and took it to Walgreens and was really surprised to hear that that prescription would cost me $95. I am unemployed and am not receiving any help and that floored me.

I called back the doctor's office and told them about the price. And they told me to check around at other stores and if still to high to call them back and they will see if there is another drug that will do the same. I did belong to Sam's Club and went to the one by my house. I handed over the prescription and maybe thought that they might be a little bit cheaper and when the person behind the counter told me that the prescription was going to cost me $14.99 (yes $14.99 $80 cheaper) I was really angry that Walgreens was going to overcharge me for the same prescription.

I called Walgreens to talk to someone about this matter and I got the response that Sam's Club is losing money on the drug that I needed. (Did you know that you can go into any Sam's Club or Costco without a card and get a prescription filled?) I am now trying to get a refund for $20 that I paid for the prescription card at Walgreens. They tell me I have passed the 30 day trial period by two days and will submit it. And after two weeks I called back and they have no record of me calling them (sounds like they don't care about customers and delete the ones that complain to them.) So I recommend that if you need to get prescriptions filled and are near a Sam's Club or Costco go there.

The Pharmacy America Should Not Trust

DALLAS FORT WORTH, TEXAS -- In all my years of frequenting various businesses, I have never seen a business fall so far, so fast in regards to the abysmal treatment of their employees. Of particular note, the Dallas Fort Worth region of Walgreens is particularly spiteful with their employees ranging from store directors with many years of service to high-school aged cashiers with only a few months of service.

Transferring low-level assistant managers seems a favorite way of spiting both employees and customers. Eliminating rebate programs and replacing them with register coupons that expire in a matter of days rather than the month-long rebate program is another. Bringing in alcohol sales--against the wishes of almost every neighborhood group they serve--epitomizes the arrogance of this company.

I would suspect that the founder and his family of this once proud company are spinning in their graves. And even more interesting according to a Drudge Report article earlier in the year is that one of the Walgreens scions, Kevin Walgreens, abruptly resigned as a corporate vice president in protest of how the company was mistreating both new employees and longtime employees. Mr. Walgreens inferred he did not want his name associated with what the company has become.

Walgreens is frantically and arrogantly working to nickel and dime customers to death. Incessant prescription savings programs, endless sales pitches on the telephone and at the register for everything from candy bars to ice tea to throw-away cameras, and then topping it all off with using high pressure tactics on the young sales clerks and cashiers to "sell" donations to various charities.

Charities are fine and good, but to buy a simple soft drink or package of paper towels or cold medicine and then get hammered to join a savings club. Then try a new candy bar or beverage, and then finally to fork over another one dollar or five dollars for charity is simply too much. Walgreens has cut the pay of their assistant managers, yet boasts of record sales and "strategic realignment." A three-year, degreed assistant manager at Walgreens is now on par to earn approximately what a first-year non-degreed assistant manager at McDonalds makes.

One flips burgers; the other helps fill your prescriptions. On a positive note, Walgreens has shown me why it is now more important than ever to patronize my locally owned and operated businesses rather than the ravenous Wal-Mart of chain drug stores.

Walgreens Pharmacy Sucks!

COVINGTON, KENTUCKY -- My mother is on several prescription meds and used to rely on Walgreens for them... Not anymore. Here's why: Mom was having a tough time remembering to get all her meds filled during the month, so Walgreens sold her on their "Prescription Reminder" service. Pretty simple concept... You give them the names of all your meds and they automatically refill them every month and then call you to remind you to pick them up. Pretty simple.

This goes on for a few months and the service seemed to be working fine until mom noticed that she had not been getting a medication refilled that she needed. So she calls the pharmacy to ask them about it and they said that the medication was not on her list of refillable meds. So she says OK and asks them to print out the list of meds that she gave them so she could go over it and add any meds that may need to be. Sure with the amount of pills she takes it's possible she forgot one. No biggie right?

Wrong. The med she had not been getting was clearly on the list. She then called the pharmacy again and informed them that the med was indeed on the list and that she had not received it for approximately three months to which the pharmacist replied sarcastically, "Well, if you haven't had it in three months you don't need it." And mom was like, "I don't need it? The doctor prescribed these pills for me so I wouldn't feel so tired during the day. And it's no wonder I've felt like ** for the last three months!"

So mother took her business to a local privately owned pharmacy and hasn't had a problem since. They even deliver them to her door so she need not go to Walgreens to pick them up. A shame really since Walgreens is literally right next door to her apartment building... the parking lots meet at the edges. LOL.

Walgreens Shorted My Child W/ Autism On His Meds & Treated My Father With Cancer Like A Junkie

MARINETTE, WISCONSIN -- My little guys liquid medicine is risperidone, not liquid morphine and yet, every month we got the run around getting it refilled on time, and always got told it was too early, then we "always " run out, and then Dr increased med 3 different times in separate months, and yet we were told the bottle still should have lasted the entire month on the original amount in it, even with the dose increase.. huh?! But the topper was making him go w/o any of it for 9 days because we must not know how it measure or something, and it's way too early to refill, sorry. He has non verbal regressive autism w/ very aggressive violent episodes & is put on this medication to stop them.

How the hell is that OK or medically acceptable to put a child into withdrawals like that, and they didn't give one ** about it, thought I was selling it or something. I could have reached through that window & went all postal on that witchy (little) chick that is always the one giving me a hard time. The day they denied my father his medication, he just got released from the UW Madison hospital after 27 days, he had 3/4 of his tongue removed, a neck dissection, and a record size tumor that grew from his side of the neck into the floor of his mouth removed. He needed pain meds ASAP.

Had trachea & feeding tube, also on liquid meds like my son, dad needed liquid perc 15mg... not liquid oxycotin geez, and they were rude as hell, said "sorry we don't have this here, it'll be like 3 days, good luck trying to fill this around here too." Walgreens, you lost people in your community who stayed from the beginning, and who know a lot of ways to bad mouth you & well deserving, messing with disabled children & terminal cancer patients meds is a serious ** up thing to pull!!!!!
