Paid Extra for Expedited Shipping. Product Not Shipped After 9 Days! This Is Wrong Amazon!
By -

This is my first post to complain about my recent experience at Amazon.com. I will continue to post comments till I am tired of posting. I will contact a lawyer to discuss the legality of charging for expedited shipping and then not assuring the order is shipped expeditiously. I will pursue all remedies. The longer it takes for me to receive even a confirmation of shipment, the more it fuels my fervor over how amazon.com has handled this case. I have appealed for amazon.com to do the right thing and cancel an order because of an unresponsive seller. They won't. I asked them to contact the seller and learn of their intentions. They wouldn't. All I get is that I have to wait. Amazing!!

Another day and no word concerning the disposition of my order. This is ridiculous. I can't even get a return response after 3 attempts. This has really put me in a tight spot. Thanks for screwing with my plans by not fulfilling your end of the transaction. And to Amazon, you have lost a customer for life. Your customer advocacy in this issue was non-existent. You both deserve each other. Sorry excuse for a ....! I am stuck in a position where I don't know if the textbook has been shipped or not. What's the point in "paying extra money for expedited shipping".

I have till Monday to decide if I will continue to wait, buy another textbook, or both. In the later case I will be stuck with two books if the other is in fact going to ship. All of this because I decided to type amazon.com in my browser. Out of all of the places I could have gone, I go to www.amazon.com. WOW! It is wrong to charge for expedited shipping and then not ship expeditiously. And then you tell me I did business with a third party seller! Once again, I put amazon.com in my browser, not thirdpartyseller.com. Something should be done about this. If there are any attorneys here please contact me if you think the complaint has merit.

Amazon shipping issues

I pre-ordered an Archos 7 home tablet from Amazon.com on May 15th. This was an exclusive pre-order through Amazon only. I was given an original delivery estimate of May the 21st. I thought to myself "self, that's awesome we can get it so fast". Two days later the delivery estimate is gone and Amazon wants me to approve a delay showing arrival between May 25 and June 17th. I approve it and select to upgrade the shipping the 2day. I also called Amazon customer service and they had no explanation for the huge discrepancy in shipping dates.

Now, let it be known the tablet PC wasn't the only thing I ordered on May 15th. I also ordered a mini sd and a neoprene case for the tablet. The neoprene case came in on the 21st and the mini sd followed on the 22nd. But if you check the tracking info it shows they haven't even left the original shipping facility. So now I have all the extras for the tablet but no tablet. So I check today to see if my tablet has been shipped and BEHOLD it was shipped on May 21st showing arrival on May 25th. TWO DAY SHIPPING FAIL.

So now I am paying $11.97 for 2day shipping and it's going to take it 4days to get here! I also called Amazon back and advised them that their two day shipping option is a huge joke and why am I paying that much for standard UPS delivery. Amazon advised they would refund the shipping price for my inconvenience, but we will see if that actually happens. My issue is this two fold, one - don't tell me something is in stock when you sold way more than you have, and two - START USING FEDEX. I will gladly pay the extra dollar or two for the security of having an accurate deliver date!

If you are thinking to sale on Amazon think twice before fall in their trap!!

I'm start to sell with Amazon, from the begin was very nice, but the nightmare start just 14 days after. I received an e-mail saying "Amazon.com has suspended your account because of issues related to performance or policy violations." I was surprise, because how this company can rate the performance of my company just in 14 days?, With just 2 rates out of 16 orders?, I call them an they said that is a standard procedures. I understood that, but my money was on hold for 22 days, then was released. I reconsider that and stupidly increase my inventory and sales.

After 2 small disbursement (20 days approx.), the suspension banner reappear on my acct, I thought that was a mistake, and call them again, they said again that my performance is not falling into amazon.com policy. Now at this point I request from them an explanation that how them calculate this, because we can't force a customers to leave a feedback. We just can suggest our customer to do it. The customer representative was very hostile with me, because I asking, but they won't give a logical answer. They just repeat what they are training for. They reopen my account 15 days after, but no disbursement allowed until another 7 more days.

Obviously the inventory increase the sales increase. When I reach some like $5700 the nightmare banner reappear, they suspend my account again. I appealed their decision, I explain that the identification of the products come directly from their catalog, the description of the items was very accurate to avoid customer confusions at the moment they buy it, the shipping was very fast (some order delivered the same day), customers informed with tracking numbers and delivery company names, packed and wrapped very professionally, but they block my acct, and they said that the money will be on hold for 90 days & I will not have the privileges to sale on amazon.com anymore.

They have from me at this moment $4622 retained for no reason at all. The total of orders was 117 in less than 3 months, there were 5 customers' refund, and 3 negative feedback from 21. They suggest if the customer not leave a feedback they are not happy, now at this point how them can suggest something like this?, Did you talk with them?

I personally think that this company use the money of the small business like us, to make them more money, because I'm pretty sure that they can't do this to its major sellers, because they have the same or more power than them. But always the big fish eat the smallest ones to survive itself.

This is causing to me a very bad problems, because I invest the 80% of my money for this project, and now I'm behind of my payments, but they don't care about this. That's why if you are thinking to sale on Amazon, think twice before fall in their trap.

Amazon Backs Seller Who Reneges on Confirmed Sale
By -

March 6, 2009, I stumbled upon a camera I want, advertised on Amazon. It was being sold by one of their vendors, Wireless Direct, for a price so low that I knew it had to be a misprint. I figured the sale would not be authorized but thought I would try anyway. The $700 camera I wanted was sold to me for under $35 with S&H and I immediately received an auto-confirmation email from Amazon validating the sale. For 7 days I tried contacting Amazon and Wireless Direct regarding the order because it never appeared in my account nor were any funds ever withdrawn from my bank account. At least my bank account had not been ripped off.

I finally found the customer support call back system for Amazon and spoke to someone with poor English from India (?) who advised me the seller reported the item out of stock and had canceled the order. The seller has never once corresponded with me in any way. I have emailed them twice and advised them of all their misdeeds, requesting they honor the deal they made with me. I have advised everyone involved that it is a buyer's right to cancel an order, not a seller's. Seller's back order items that go out of stock, not cancel orders. They lied in their attempt to cover their mistake and refused to stand by the deal we both agreed to when the sale was authorized.

I have repeatedly exchanged emails with Amazon customer reps from India who fail to comprehend that the seller made a mistake in the price and has lied to cover their tracks in order to avoid honoring the deal we agreed to. An Amazon CS representative has finally admitted the above to me in their latest email. Amazon has offered me a $5 coupon for my next purchase. I will never purchase from them again at this rate. Since when is a deal not a deal? When it involves Amazon and their vendors. Buyer beware! Amazon may mean well but when they allow their vendors to get away with stunts like this then they are as much a part of the problem as the seller is.

Amazon.Com Ripoff

INTERNET -- As of Today January 11th, 2008 I still haven't received My husband Christmas Gift purchased from Amazon. Before one can purchase from Amazon.com it's clearly stated how many of the interested items is available for sale. Anyway I have decided to buy my husband a program TMPGENC Express 4.0. This items sell for about $86.00 to $100.00 depending of the seller.

I had decided to buy my Husband's Christmas gift from Amazon instead of the many other online retailer including the manufacturer because Amazon offered on A disk rather Download version. Anyway the item in question was supposed to be here by Christmas. However it wasn't until December 30th, the same day we return from a trip to Canada, more than 7 days when the items should have been in our mailbox that we were notify. That the items in question won't be ship until "22-28" of January. Needless to say it was some kind of joke being played on us by a Bored Amazon Staff.

After contacting Customer Service dept. of Amazon, I realized they are "dead serious". Don't forget that I had to paid for the item before she could complete the order. These people will do anything to meet quota and have no respect to the customers that support them. It's a shame.

My Amazon Nightmare
By -

PATERSBURG, VIRGINIA -- On December 15th, 10 days before Christmas, and after several weeks of research, I decided to buy my roommate a Panasonic Dmc-LX2 digital camera when the price fell to $299.94, and I chose to get the free super saver shipping. In the past I have always used this shipping method and received my items quickly and in this case my account showed that the camera was due to ship on the 18th and to arrive by the 24th, perfect for me.

By the 19th, with no word from Amazon that the camera had shipped, with my account STILL showing a shipping date of the 18th, I checked my credit card online to find that there were more than $600 of pending charges on my account. A call to my card confirmed that Amazon had charged me twice for the camera and had not even shipped ONE to me yet.

A call to Amazon and I was told it was charged twice but the first charge had been reversed. I now expected to receive a camera. I did not. The following day, no emails that my camera had shipped and another check of my credit card showed pending charges now of $900!!! (They had charged me a third time.) 3 calls to Amazon last night (the 20th) and I have cancelled my order. One representative tried to tell me my camera never shipped as my card was denied which was a LIE as the bank confirmed, all three times the charges were approved.

The last man I talked to admitted there was an "inventory" problem, but could not tell me whether this camera was even in stock. As of tonight (the 21st), this camera, which today rose to $319, is still listed as being in stock and available for delivery if you pay extra for shipping. So they can fill orders placed tonight, 4 days before Christmas, but they couldn't send out my camera with an order placed on the 15th?

I believe Amazon has decided that it is no longer first come first served but you're going to get your product if you lay out the money for fast shipping. To add insult to injury, they have tied up $900 of my credit line and I have 4 days to buy another present. This Panasonic model is not available in my area. I have to admit that I have not had any real problems with Amazon in the past and I would hate to think they are becoming another sleazy online retailer. I have written to them with my complaint, to follow up on my 4 calls, but I hate to see this camera still advertised online, as in stock and available by Christmas.

Ripped off by Amazon seller Long Island Watch
By -

WASHINGTON -- EDIT: I accidentally placed this as "resolved". It's far from that. Purchased this watch a while back and sent an email to the company in Russia inquiring about the case material. Found out this watch was counterfeit goods so I notified Amazon, canceled my account and sent a letter to the FTC about Amazon hosting companies that sell counterfeit merchandise. Glad I found this site as well so I could warn others about some of their "Marketplace sellers". I'll never do business with Amazon again.

Delivery Sucks!
By -

LOUISIANA -- I have noticed a definite downward direction in amazon.com's delivery practices and customer service in the last year or so -- I used to receive things in 2-3 days, and a week is OK, but...!!! I think this will be my LAST order to those freakazoids -- sorry, I'm a little steamed right now. I placed my most recent order on Jan. 4. I sent an email yesterday to see why I had not received it, and they responded TODAY that it was "being shipped" (though when I click on Tracking, it doesn't show any info) and that when I agreed to Free Shipping I agreed to wait longer to receive my shipment, blah blah blah. What a crock!!!

I have noticed in the last year or so, that any Customer Service response is from someone with an "outsourcing" type of name and this is totally unacceptable to me. I believe outsourcing is hurting Americans who need jobs, and I want my materials shipped from America, after all, amazon.com is based in Seattle, for God's sake!!! I used to pass by there often when I lived there and knew people who worked there. What has happened to this country? All this outsourcing is going to cause another depression, I feel. I know I'm off the original subject, but I'm really mad.

Anyhow, thanks for letting me vent -- this is just ONE complaint I've had about amazon.com in many moons!!! Last Christmas I sent my daughter a gift certificate email for her birthday and they didn't send it for a long time after her birthday, although they kept saying they did! I asked someone personally (yes, I actually have a number to call!) why they hadn't sent it and she kept saying they did. If they sent it (more than 2-3 times as the woman said, why hadn't my daughter received it)? Also, their magazine subscription service is the worst I've ever encountered. 'Nuff said.

Amazon.com... Conveniently Doesn't Have to Cover FREE Shipping!
By -

WASHINGTON -- I am so angry with Amazon I could absolutely SCREAM! Shopping around on the internet for a couple of gifts for my son, I checked out Half.com for the items and found they were just a bit higher priced than those of Amazon. Plus, Amazon was offering FREE SHIPPING over so much in total purchases. So I decided to pick up a couple of extra things, in order to gain the free shipping.

Our US mailing address is a PO Box as we are in a rural area and don't receive US mail at our physical address, and UPS and FedEx cannot deliver to a PO Box. So, upon checkout, one of the items in my cart demands a physical address instead of a PO Box. I assumed they would be shipping via FedEx or UPS. Now I didn't realize it at the time, but it was through Amazon, not a different merchant. Anyway, I updated the one item and OF COURSE, it took away the free shipping. So, now I'm paying an additional $15.00 for my items, but lo and behold, they are actually charging me tax on the shipping as well. So it's not $15.00 more, it's $21.00 more!

Okay, this was a bit frustrating, but I didn't want to have to go back in and search half again, so I went ahead and paid. The two items from Amazon.com were supposedly shipped the next day. I received the one that was to go to my PO Box, but the other was taking quite a while.

Seventeen days later, I receive a message from Amazon.com that my item had been returned to them because it was undeliverable and they were returning it to stock and would issue me a refund. THEY SHIPPED IT USPS, to my physical address where I don't get US Mail after they demanded a physical address and force me to pay for shipping because of it! Now, we are only a few days from Christmas and the one item I was wanting for my son is not available! Great eh? Kind of convenient that they didn't have to cover the FREE shipping eh? A little too convenient, in my opinion!

Changed Shipping Without Notification
By -

I have been buying from Amazon since 1999 without any problems, but in the last year or so I have noticed their shipping has really slowed down. Today was the last straw for me. I placed an order for three items on Dec 4th. One was a book that was a pre-order and was to be released on Dec 12th. Because of that, I did not choose super saving shipping because I wanted the other two items to ship right away to make sure I had them in time for Christmas, so I paid for the shipping option. My confirmation states that the two items besides the book would ship on Dec 5th.

Today, I noticed my credit card still hadn't been charged so I checked my account online to see if they'd shipped. Well the shipping info had been updated and showed they were waiting to ship all items together and they would ship on Dec 18th. It even said in my account that the items would not arrive before Christmas. So I sent them an email asking why this had been changed, and let them know I was upset since they never bothered to notify me that my items would not arrive before Christmas, even though I had paid extra for them to ship earlier.

There response was, "Sorry you didn't understand the shipping times when you ordered the items. Our site currently states the one item will ship in 4 to 6 weeks." so there is nothing they can do. The site clearly did not state that when I ordered it and I have a confirmation stating differently. I was bothered they didn't notify me of the change, since it was pretty significant. I am cancelling my order and am getting the items from another site which can deliver before Christmas.
