This Company Will Steal Your Money

I ordered a 6 month supply of flea and heartworm medication for my dog on October 1, 2010. It is February 2, 2011 and I never received the product despite numerous calls to the company, which I may add is very hard to get in touch with. Finally, last week, they were prepared to give me a refund. That was after several calls and a chain of excuses that they had given me. Now when I try to call, it seems I am transferred through the phone system and never actually talk to a person.
I guess I'm going to have to accept that I was scammed and going to have to take a loss of that money. Beware of this company! They are obviously robbing people.

When did you first ask for a refund? The website says you can do it after 28 business days, which would be mid-November. Why did it take an extra two months? What chain of excuses have they given you in the delay of processing the refund? Or have they been stringing you along making you think you would receive the product?

The main problem with this company is that it does not have a central location where all departments can easily communicate with each other. Refunds are processed from Barbados and I have encountered refunds not being processed because the person who does this task holds back on actioning the refund or is instructed by the owner not to refund and wait even longer to see if the order arrives. This especially happens on large orders.

Unacceptable Delivery Period

Regardless of who is to blame for the long delivery period, as a customer waiting almost a month for delivery of a product that my dogs and cats needed within a week or two, this is unacceptable. Low prices and free delivery are great if one can expect the product within some predictable time frame. I ordered Frontline for my animals on December 28th. Today is January 26th and no sign of the product. Budget Pet Care needs to get out of the US market if they cannot do better than this. I will not use them again.

Did they provide you a notification of the shipping date? The company is based in Canada and I have ordered from several Canadian based companies in the past, to find my shipment delayed and held by U.S. Customs for an extended time period.

The Budget Pet Care website states that you should order from them not less than 4-6 weeks before you need the product, so if you needed them within 1-2 weeks, you should not have chosen them as a supplier.

It also states that if you don't receive your order within 28 days they will issue a refund, so you can see what to expect prior to ordering.

Budget Pet Care must wonder why they get so many complaints about shipping time, because the terms are shown. I'm sorry you didn't see them.

Product fine, arrival very slow

SUPPOSEDLY MANITOBA, CANADA -- Like some others here, my order took about a month to arrive. But it was just as expected. (Sent via Royal Canadian mail, FWIW.) [Note: see update @ end this comment.]

People just have to decide if a bit less cost is worth the wait. If so, order far enough in advance not to run out of whatever it is you're ordering.

Service to the US definitely is not speedy. Not sure I buy "security" as the only reason. And there was a $1.15 or so surcharge not disclosed up front, which they blamed on the bank issuing my credit card. So most of their "lowest price" advantage disappeared. FWIW.

BTW, product is genuine. Comments that their stuff is counterfeit or defective probably were made by competitors, or folks with US drug mfr. interests at heart, or maybe just the misinformed.

How I know it's genuine is by comparing closely to last order which came from a US company. Packaging is different, but that's all.

And by trying it. The Capstar worked, just like always. Kills probably 90% of adult fleas within a few hours but is only effective for about 24 hours or so. Needs to be used with something else to retard flea egg development and prevent jump-ons.

To top it off, on the package from a PRIOR order from a US seller is this: "product made in Canada."

Small world these days, huh?

UPDATE Jan 21: Clicked on a couple replies to earlier comments. There "Insider" says product is shipped from UK, Canadian address only a front. Rechecked my package. Says "Royal Mail," not "Royal Canadian Mail" as thought. Might explain the very British accent from a CSR.

Urchin, thank you for confirming what I have said is TRUE! I believe they have now moved the call centre to Canada to try to keep up the appearance of being based in Canada, but they still ship from the UK...for now anyway!!

Budget Pet Care Shipping Complaint

Ordered Program Flea Product on Jan.2, 2011 and Budget Pet Care took $79.99 out of my account IMMEDIATELY. Today is Jan. 20, 2011 and still no product. Nowhere on their site is there anything claiming shipping may take longer than the customary 3-10 days. I was actually in a hurry for this stuff and looked around local veterinarians to try to find it then resorted to online since no one carried it locally. Anyone else see the irony here? Don't buy from Budget Pet Care. They are a second rate company that ruins it for the good guys by making the internet a dangerous place to do business.

I ordered Advocate and Advantage on June 25th and paid for it immediately with Paypal. I finally received it today July 15th after many phone calls, unanswered emails, and unanswered messages. The medication had been shipped from Barbados - not Canada. The outer packaging of both the Advocate and Advantage had been opened, additional doses of Advantage had been added to the box. It was clearly labeled 4 dose pack, but had 2 doses (I ordered six) added. Thankfully the secondary tamper-proof package was intact, although I still feel somewhat uneasy. Their customer service is terrible. When they answer they promise to follow up and call back but I never got a return call. I won't be using them again!

I ordered from BudgetPetCare and finally received the product. It took longer than I expected, but I did receive what I ordered. The product is from South Africa, but that is okay with me. Quite frankly I think the small company is overwhelmed with orders. Oh, well. However, I am not sure that I will order from them again, time will tell.

perhaps they were having trouble paying their bills
or perhaps they had to move out of canada

BudgetPetCare.com Rips you Off

I placed an order on April 17, 2009 for some pet supplies with BudgetPetCare.com, as of today I still haven't received my order. I've contacted customer service and was told I had to wait 21 business days before I could request a refund or request another shipment be sent to me. Not 21 days, but 21 business days!

Stay aware from this company, I first started calling their customer service the phone rang indefinitely - no one picked up. When I finally did get someone to answer it seemed as if it was someone that had no clue what I was telling them. The person told me they would send another shipment of what I had ordered, as it appeared it was lost. A few hours later I get an e-mail telling me a manager would have to review the matter. Bottom line, I'm now being told I have to wait a full 21 business days before they'll consider resending the order.

Don't be fooled by the low prices, stay away from this company.

21 days is not unreasonable when you are dealing with the USPS. You can't even inquire about missing mail for 21 days, and the PO won't initiate a lost mail complaint for 30 days. IF you need something that fast I always say NEVER BUY ONLINE/MAILORDER. IF you can afford to wait, then buy online.

While you are certainly entitled to your opinion and you are not wrong about time lines for filing for a missing parcel with USPS, 21 days is absolutely unacceptable under any standards for a mail order company to deliver a product.

By the way, I never did receive what I ordered and had to dispute the purchase with my credit company - the store refused to acknowledge me, even well after 21 days had gone by. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.

You can get a package shipped UPS ground from one side of the country to the other in 7 business days. 21 days sounds like they are floating other people's cash till they get called out on it by the CC company.

I remember when mail order used to take 6-8 weeks. Just like on Ebay, people are spoiled and expect it yesterday. I received an item in the mail from my ink company: USPS...it took 10 days to get to me PRIORITY mail...post office says 2-3 days, but I live in the real world where I know things happen along the mail route.

If you do not get your item you pay for, of course complain and file a chargeback if necessary. I do not however, find it unreasonable for a company to ask you to wait at least 21 days to make sure you do not get the item before they refund or ship a new order. YOU might like the chance of getting one free, but a company can't stay in business long if every customer gets a free item.

Oh, and Digital, not every company online uses UPS. A LOT do still use the post office.

Beware of Budget Pet Care!

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA -- I placed an order on Budgetpetcare.com on April 14th. Today is the 7th of May and I have not received my order yet. I've called the numbers provided a billion times. One sounds like a fax line and the other begins beeping immediately after pressing the last digit.

I have also wrote e-mails and have not been able to get any response.

Usually mail order companies ship orders via USPS or Canada Post and its ent by normal post. Out of many carried by postal services few are lost and unfortunately you could be the unlucky one. Also packages with meds are stopped by customs, sometime they let it go and sometime they hold it.

It these mail order companies who pay us back or we can charge back even though. So its their loss and customer does get their money or the product. Canadian companies are OK to do business.

I have tried many Canadian mail order companies and I find them OK.

I have had the same ongoing problem with budget pet care. I ordered the 10th of April and it id now the 20th of may. I canceled over a week ago as they have it in their small print tht you have to wait 21 business days before getting a refund. they have no intention on giving refunds ! I had to call my credit card compoany and have them pull the money back. I also contacted the better b usiness bureau in canada and filed a complaint against this company. This is a bad comapny to deal with !

CALIFORNIA -- I purchased pet supplies online from Budget Pet Care for the last 2 years, and never had any issues with them. I got my order always quickly and even it is the UK version, my pets have never had any flea in the the time I have used this product. Here I got cheapest price ever I found.
