Charges you for NUTS
By -

Just had my Honda serviced 1 month ago, with rotating of tires. Last week I noticed one of the lug nuts missing. Went in for an oil change and asked if they can put one on. They charged me 2.50 for the bolt and 2.00 of labor to put it on. Never would have thought that Labor would be charged for this request. It is not the money amount but the principle. I should have been aware of this charge. If I knew about this, I would of went to my local Pep Boys, gotten one bolt, and did it myself. FYI one bolt at Pep Boys is .49 cents. Go figure!

Blown Honda s2000 Engine
By -

KENNESAW, GEORGIA -- Here is another complaint on the s2000. I have a 2000 S2000 that I have owned for a matter of 1.5 years. The s2000 was a beautiful ride, however, with about 51000 on the car the engine blew eating the third cylinder and eating up the camshaft. I am looking at an $8000 repair. If you are looking at buying one of these DO NOT buy a 2000-2003.

The new engines are better and more reliable. I now hate the S2000 and I wished I had never bought it. This is my 6th Honda I have owned. I have owned a 99 Civic Si, 02 v6 Accord Sedan, 91 Accord Ex, 94 Accord Ex, 2000 Acura RL, and the 2000 S2000. For all the money I have spent through Honda you'd think they would give me an engine for free because they know I will be back. I bought a replacement car (94 Accord EX with 164k miles, runs perfect) and the s2000 sits in the shop with $10k owed on it still and a $8k price tag to fix it (Brand new engine) and $7700 for a used engine.

Honda did a lot of work to design this car. I have never raced it. Only used Royal Purple Synthetic Motor Oil and changed filters every 2500 miles. Anybody have any suggestions before I dump Honda on their ass and go to Nissan. I must say I like the new 350Z. It has a whole lot more room and not quite as many problems.

Oil Seal Recall Notice
By -

COLUMBIA, MARYLAND -- On 11-10-00 my car stopped and was towed to British American. Diagnoses - seized motor. 11-13-00 got recall letter from Honda RE oil seal. Service manager at Jim Coleman Honda had car towed there with reassurance that Honda would replace the engine at their expense since due to oil seal rupture. Then told that Honda would not replace motor. Spoke with customer service and negotiated 50% coverage. Hired lawyer who brokered to 70% coverage of reconditioned motor and reimbursement for first towing & British American charge. Two months later I got my car 1-10-01.

After return from the birth of grandson, I drove the car to work on 1-22-01 and the engine overheated. Was towed back to Jim Coleman. Leak in the water pump which they replaced. I feel that 100% of the cost of the engine should be covered since it was a direct result of the oil seal rupturing. I paid $1358.22.

Trash the Opera
By -

There was a time I was considering Honda products, but my spouse and I are in agreement that the annoying (which is using a very mild term) opera commercial is so awful we'd rather walk. What an incredible turn off. Missed the mark big time, Honda. SMT should take a long second look at your ad campagin and decision makers.

Safety Hazards
By -

Purchased a new Honda Fit, after having a wonderful Honda Civic VX for many years. FIT is great, except for a couple of things, and my inquiries about how to get them fixed are ignored. Two major problems: There is no "horn ring" or alternative within reach from the rim of the steering wheel. Even at 6'2", my hands can't reach it. In an emergency as well as normal life this is a real hazard. The front seat headrests are anatomically misformed. For my wife, they push her head forward and cause neck pain. Honda's answer? Remove it.

Honda Customer Service Sucks
By -

The customer service reps for Honda are awful. They are all rude and don't know anything about their jobs. They act like they are a crappy car finance company that can't make money. I'll tell you what if they keep treating people like they do they won't have anymore customers. I love my car but I will never, ever buy another Honda in my life just so I don't have to deal with these people. They do not know how to talk to people with any couth or class. They say and threaten the most ridiculous and rude things.

Do Not Buy Honda - Exorbitant Spares Prices
By -

DELHI -- It has been a shocking experience. Head Light lamps for RS $1800 which are available in the market from same OEM supplier for RS $60. Again Bearing for the rear wheel getting bad in 40,000, plus city ride smooth driving conditions. Can you imagine cost - RS $6000.00. Car was covered in extended warranty but bearing does not fall in the claim. I repent buying this car.

Resolution Update 05/10/2008:

bearing were covered under warranty as a gesture from the company.replaced free of cost
