Beware Jennifer Convertibles

ROUTE 1 BY MENLO PARK MALL, NEW JERSEY -- Customer Service is HORRIBLE. When I entered the place, there was a bell that sounds off any customer who enters. There were 3 sales people, maybe one of them, an older woman was a manager. But nobody said "Hello" or greeted us with welcome. As a sales person, I know that if right off the bat the customer service is bad, do not expect anything else to be any better.

I was ready to buy a sofa bed right then and there. I had the cash, I was a willing customer and I was looking. But since I was not paid any attention to, nor even looked at, I decided to google them and see other people's review. And guess what I found? Pages upon pages of HORROR STORIES including this one that I linked to because it prevented me from going to another branch and buy a lamp much less, a sofa bed from Jennifer Convertibles.

If I were a mystery shopper for that store, my rating for them would be 5 thumbs down out of 5. And I give that brown-haired girl a G for give her the boot. Check out site below, it's a little bit long but very insightful and detailed. http://www.realestateabc.com/insights/jenniferfurniture.htm.

Why do I have to do this?

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- Why on earth do I (and many others) have to do this? We paid Jennifer Convertibles $1969 on July 25 (which they immediately, of course, put through on our credit card) for two chairs and two footstools on July 25, 06. After two attempts to deliver them to their Portsmouth store from their "regional" Boston store, both times the pieces were damaged. We cancelled the order with their "regional manager" in Portsmouth on 10/1/06, who wrote on our original order in clear, black ink that the order was cancelled and that we would receive a full refund within 7-10 days.

It has been two months of phone calls and emails (all on my part, they have never called back and sent the exact same response email 3 times) with the complete and full stall. This is criminal. We are now forced to go to court to force these shysters to pay what they promised two months ago. Why do I have to do this?

Stay Away From Purchasing From Jennifer Convertibles

TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA -- We purchased a leather sofa 18 months ago. Conveniently, their warranty is only for a year. The dye is discoloring to orange, the cushion is flattening out, the frame shows wear and their $99.99 Lifetime warranty does not cover any of this. "Crappy furniture" a very "bad" company to deal with.

Don't Buy at Jennifer.

I bought a sofa set on August 7th, 2011 at Jennifer convertibles. They told me I can expect the set in 4 to 6 weeks' time. It's 8 weeks and there is no news about the sofa. I am very disappointed with the service. You can find better sofa sets at other places. Please look around - don't buy at Jennifer's, you will repent it like I am. They won't even let you cancel the order otherwise you will lose 30% of the bill. I will never go back there.

Terrible Delivery, Service and Warranty Follow-Through

BREA, CALIFORNIA -- Bought 2 whole sets of furniture in June 2010. Noticed a split seam in one piece when the furniture was finally delivered 8 weeks later. It is now July 2011 and we still do not have an acceptable piece of furniture. Many calls to customer service have not helped. They keep claiming it has or will be shipped. Obviously I will never use them again and suggest you do not either. We aren't even happy with the other furniture.

Horrible Leather Furniture

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- After only having my leather furniture for two years the leather started to peel. There is now little black pieces all over the floor and it sticks to your clothes. This company does not stand behind their product and refuse to do anything about this catastrophe. I will never buy anything from this company again. I'm telling all potential buyers to beware.

Do not purchase a single item from this terrible place!! They will cause you nothing but aggravation. Half of my order was delivered and the half that was delivered was damaged. They said they would repair and never showed up then said they would replace the couches and never showed up again!!! Then they continued to say that I never paid them for the furniture, which was on a credit card that the bank verified was paid. One big scam! No wonder they are bankrupt!!!

Horrible Customer Service: Bad Warranty

CALIFORNIA -- Jennifer Convertibles changed their lifetime frame warranty to one year only in 2005. This gives them a way to produce the junk they do and not be responsible. Their upholstery lifetime guarantee has exclusions which are many of the main things that happen to their furniture in the first place and again they show no responsibility for manufacturing horrible and poorly made products. Maybe with enough complaints and suits someone can get them out of business.
