SPINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS -- I needed my tires changed from winter to summer and also needed an alignment, so since I bought the winter tires from Pep Boys I figured they could handle the job. Well to make a long story short I was the first customer in the morning and it took them 4 and 1/2 hours, and when they were finished I paid and went outside to get my car and noticed my rims were scratched all over. And when I drove my car the alignment was worse than before, so went back and told the service manager all what happened. He denied the marks were from them and argued with me for almost an hour about the alignment until he sent one of his "service techs" with me on a test drive.

His "service tech" agreed the alignment was done improperly to the service manager, and well after 7 painstaking hours and two alignments later he refunded my 69.99 and still denied the damaged was caused by them. And I lost a whole day's pay because of them. Thanks for nothing Pep Boys.

MONROEVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA -- I went to Pep Boys three times because the tire guy was off and no one else could help me. Finally, after waiting in line for twenty min, the tire guy told me to come back the next day, they would have my wheels in. Then I called to make sure that they came in so that I didn't waste another trip to the store.

They said that my rims got sent to another store. Then called me to say that they could have them in for Friday. Now they can't get for another three weeks. When the sale is over and they are advertised these wheels in my size in the first place. I HATE THIS STORE, I WILL TAKE MY MONEY ($800) ELSEWHERE. Whatever happened to great customer care?

Tire Tricks

WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND -- My son went to Pep Boys after waking up to a flat tire. They sold him a new tire ($93.00). As he was paying, the technician came in carrying his tire and said "it's a valve stem". The manager gave him a go away hand motion and that was it. After my husband found this out, he took my son's car back to the store to get my son's old tire back to have it repaired elsewhere - but guess what. My husband was told that they no longer had the tire. It's sad that a business would take advantage of an 18 year old going to college, working for a fast food restaurant and soon to enter military service. Disgusting... I hope they close. Never go to Pep Boys in Warwick, R.I.

Horrible Customer Service

SYRACUSE, NEW YORK -- Well everyone there when I call to find out about my order of a rim that I had ordered about 2 weeks ago today, passes the work onto someone else and so on and no one ends up helping me they tell me to call back at a later time and the same stuff goes on. They use the holidays as an excuse but yet I ordered some other parts for my car from other sites a week later and I have already received them.

The reason I need to order a rim is nonsense. Also they wouldn't put my tire on without me buying a rim. But the rim I had on my car was perfectly fine and it doesn't let any air out of the tire but yet Pep Boys says it will. All in all terrible service all around the store. This place is a joke. This was my first time shopping there thinking it was good but it isn't and I will not go back there again.

SPRINGBORO, OHIO -- My 1 1/2 yr. old tire needed to be replaced. The guy took off the old one, and replaced it with one that was the wrong thread, the wrong size, and was TOTALLY BLACK. The rest of my tires had RAISED WHITE lettering. These guys are dumb as rocks. I was furious, and they never even apologized.

CICERO NY -- I went into the shop shortly before they were closing on a Sunday, but they fit me in and fixed my problem so that I was safe to drive again. They told me about some other parts that needed attentions, some I already knew about but didn't have the time to get the car in a shop. They did not try a hard sell or scare tactic, but wished me a good evening. I will definitely go back every time my car needs work.

New tires cheating

I went to Pep Boys for changing tires of my car. They are charging more than $20 for installing a tire. So I paid extra $46 to install two tires which is almost equal to new tire. When I asked them why charges are more, their response is very bad. He is shouting at customers. I felt instead of talking to him, it is better to pay $46 and never go to Pep Boys again.
