3622 AUBURN ST. ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS -- Sun. July 21, 2013 went to restaurant to get dinner around 8:00PM. Fight broke out between Mgr. & woman, while I was asked to sit in parking lot & wait for food. Just getting to box to order was too long. 10 min. in 80+ weather. Then asked to drive out in traffic around to parking lot & then wait again. after waiting again, fight broke out in parking lot between Mgr. & woman, cursing, then fist fighting, then he went in & came out w/ very large knife & threw it across lot @ woman who started fight by slapping mgr. first & cursing. 3 others got out of car & beat Mgr. when staff freed him that's when he went inside and got knife. 4 other cars in lot . All afraid. Others could have guns. I laid down in car til Police came. I still waited for my meal. No one came out.

After about one half hr. I went to window while police still there. Girl waitress was still shaken & confused, but gave meal. This was too much!

Please clean up that staff, but not window waitress. never before experienced anything like this. woman wrong but mgr. could have hurt someone else. Temper like this is unsafe for other employees & patrons.

Popeye's Discontinued Spicy Honey Mustard

OLATHE, KANSAS -- I went to Popeye's last week and much to my surprise ran into a major issue... NO MORE SPICY HONEY MUSTARD to dip my spicy chicken strips in!!! Boy was I upset about this! So, I asked the manager what the deal was. She said that corporate decided to discontinue it. She went on to say that many of their customers are very upset with this decision and she personally thought it was the stupidest decision they could have ever made. Too bad, because you couldn't beat those spicy chicken strips with that perfectly blended spicy honey mustard. Great news though, I have attached the Popeye's Recipe for their discontinued Spicy Honey Mustard. Enjoy!!!

Popeye's Mardi Gras Honey Mustard Recipe: 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons Zatarain's Creole mustard, 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish (Kraft cream-style), 2 ½ teaspoons sugar or Splenda sugar substitute. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl; blend well. Let sit a half hour or longer to let the flavors blend. Serve as a dipping sauce with chargrilled blackened chicken strips or other cooked chicken or shrimp. Makes about 2 1/2 cups.

Rude/Unconcern About Customer Comfort!!!

321 WEST 125TH STREET, NEW YORK -- On 9/3/12 @ 16:53 I was in line placing my order. A previous customer tried to get the servers' attention several times after I placed my order, stating that there was not any toilet tissue in the bathroom! It was very obvious she was being ignored!! Finally the "manager" came up to the window alongside of the server and asked what she wanted! She stated again that she really needed to pee badly and that there is no tissue in the room - could she have a few napkins now!!! After a sigh by the manager she gave her a few napkins.

Several of us in line started looking in our purses to see if we had any tissues for her to use!! By this time the door had locked again and she had to find someone to unlock the door. It would not have surprised me that this lady did not WET her pants right there in front of the cashier!! This young lady was very courteous trying to be patient and was just ignored!!! This is unacceptable for a store as busy as this one, they should always have someone checking the supplies in the restrooms. The employees in this store for the most part are discourteous and rude and impatient!!

Corporate Office Does Not Handle Complaints

DALLAS -- I went to Popeye's and when I got home the order was wrong, the lemonade tasted like water, and they didn't give me a specific piece of chicken I requested. I called the store and told the manager what happened and I told her I was on my way back. Instead of replacing the entire order with hot food she only wanted to fix what they got wrong. I insisted that I get hot food because by the time I travel back home the original food I purchased would be cold. She got angry and copped an attitude so I asked for a refund instead, she took the food and trashed it and said she couldn't give me any cash back since I used my debit card it would have to be put back on there.

Needless to say that was back in May, I never saw my refund put back on my card. I have called the corporate office several times and no one has yet to call me back. I even spoke with the district manager of that particular store and still I have not gotten my refund. I guess they must need the money really bad due to the recession because it's like they are refusing to return my money.

No More Honey Mustard? Blasphemy!

OLATHE, KANSAS -- I recently stopped in for some Popeye's Chicken spicy chicken strips at our neighborhood location and was shocked when I asked for honey mustard to hear the server say "We don't have that anymore." Stopped serving honey mustard? For heaven's sake why? It's the primary reason I eat chicken there (besides the beans and rice side) and it goes perfectly with the spicy coating. How can it be? Was she just too lazy to go get it? Was this a corporate decision or is it just my local franchisee that won't stock it? I will carry my own next time because, let's face it, there's no better chicken strip in town.

WHITBY -- Went in to Popeye's in Whitby, Ontario (under new management) today, was the third time this month and a loyal customer until today. Ordered 4 meals - cost was $22.00 some, asked to get 2 extra sauces for the chicken tenders and one was not enough. Was told NO, Head Office policy. Asked them if it was worth for them to lose a customer over one little sauce, the manager (female dressed in black) says HO rules. Told her I buy one then and she charged me $0.26 and again asked her if she was happy to having lost a customer and probably more after I finish telling everyone. Left with my chicken and shrimp orders, never to return again!!!

Worst Fried Chicken EVER!
By -

PUEBLO, COLORADO -- Last evening (peak dinner time) my wife and I ate at the South Pueblo, CO location. It was not busy at all with only 3 other customers there at the time. I ordered the 3-piece meal, my wife the 5-piece chicken tenders. My drumstick was the size of a quail's, the thigh equally small, and the breast portion was extremely dry. My side dish, the Cajun rice was nothing but mush. My wife's chicken tenders were cold and tasteless.

I walked up to the counter to bring this to the attention of the manager on duty but she just ignored me and walked back to the kitchen. Needless to say, we'll never eat at Popeye's Fried Chicken again. They were my favorite chicken restaurant, but not now. Also, the tables weren't being cleaned, but there were 6 employees on duty at the time. Three were on their cell phones the entire time we were in the restaurant.

Resolution Update 12/13/2011:

I called the corporate office when I got home last night and received a call from the manager this morning. Turns out they had a gas leak and precooked all the food in another oven. That's why the food was so bad. They should have never served the precooked in the first place, but the manager is sending me a gift certificate for the full amount of our food. Good job Popeyes! You've won a good customer back!

Pricing Standards
By -

I really enjoy Popeye's food, however, I rarely choose the "combo" at any restaurant. I regularly visit 3 different Popeye's locations and the pricing is never the same. When I don't want the fries I have been told at some locations that the price is the same with or without fries. When I want a substitution, the prices always vary.

When I ask about this I get told that the computer system cannot manage changes (ha! ha!) or that prices are not reduced with omissions. I have talked with other customers about this and some have told me they limit their visits to Popeye's unless buying large amounts of food for gatherings. At this time it is important that all businesses develop standards for fair pricing.

Worst Customer Service, EVER!!!
By -

MASON, OHIO -- Walked into Popeyes location and stood at counter for 10 minutes with no response. My wife tried to get workers' attention by saying "Excuse me," with no response from employees standing four feet away. I asked the question if they were still taking orders, or if you had to go through the drive-thru. The "shift manager" barked that they were busy and if we did not like it she would ask us to leave. Her coworker tried to cover for her and explain what she meant.

All I know is what she said, and we asked for a number to call to report her performance. We did the number accompanied with several smart remarks. I hope the owner gets this feedback and takes appropriate actions. This is by far the worst customer service I have experienced. This coming from a "shift manager"? Don't worry about asking customers to leave, I will not be back nor the people standing in line behind me.

Check Your Attitude Before You Clock In Please

GALVESTON, TEXAS -- Mother's Day, I thought we'd stop at Popeye's @ 3027 Broadway St in Galveston, TX 77550. So we went through the drive through and the young lady said "Welcome to Popeye's, may I take you order?" So we ordered 2, 8 piece meals and the young lady said it would be a few minutes so I said I'd like to get a strawberry soda while I wait. As I was driving off, she said something about the chicken would be ready which I really didn't care. It was hot and I wanted a strawberry soda still. So when we drove up to the window, she took my money, gave me my change, and receipt.

On the receipt I notice she didn't charge me for my soda so I knocked on the window and looked in the window as they looked at me. They then turned back around and act as if they didn't hear or see me so when she came back to the window with my chicken, I told her that I had asked for a strawberry soda and she said, "We will have to charge you for it." Did she think I was asking them to give me a soda? When was the last time they gave away anything for free? So I told her that I had every intention of paying for the soda. I gave her 2 dollars and she didn't want to take them at first but I insist that I pay for my drink.

The same young lady had taken my son's order a few days earlier in the week. She had this look on her face like she was ready to give attitude her whole shift. When you try and call the 1800 number for these places, they half the time work.
