Low Cost on Zero Coverage

MODESTO, CALIFORNIA -- I changed my deductible from 2500 to 500 4/29/09. My accident occurred 5/1/09, and it totaled my vehicle. Three months later, I am being told they will apply the 2500 deductible because they think it happened 4/28/09, with no evidence to back it up. I can prove they are wrong, and am suing not only for the deductible difference, but for mental distress due to the disrespectful treatment by Progressive's agents.

I suspect my agent did not like women, because he treated me and my witness very rudely, arguing loudly, accusing me of trying to screw the insurance company, not calling for weeks at a time, and telling me he had the right not to keep me informed of the status the claim against the vehicle I own.

Warning!!! Do Not Use Concierge Service. They Cheat and Lie!
By -

75287, TEXAS -- The bottom line is they cheat and lie to lure you to the concierge service. Progressive's so called damage "experts" first made an estimate of $3,200 on the damage on my car after a tree fell over after a storm. Then you sign papers giving them the right to repair the vehicle. They did what they did and when Progressive delivered my Volvo V70 I discovered that not only the car was not repaired to its original state but more damage was inflicted on the vehicle.

Also, I find out in the papers that the actual estimate is $5,200. So, they have experts to assess the damage. What kind of experts are these if they are wrong by $2,000. This is almost double the original estimate - CHEATERS and LIARS. On top of that there was additional damage added by Progressive contractors according to same experts for additional $1,000. Grand total about $6,200. By KBB my Volvo V70 is worth about $4,800-$5,200. Bottom line: car was totaled and they devalued my car completely to zero by cheating and lying.

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA -- Just wanted to let you all know that if you currently have Insurance with Progressive, you should run. I was a customer with Progressive, and called them to meet a quote I had gotten from another company. They were quick to turn me down and told me if I could get the rates I said, that I should do so. I immediately advised them that I would do just that, and they gave me a date my Insurance would expire. This guy I spoke with was an "IDIOT", and very rude.

Since then, I have been turned over to the Credit Bureau for a balance of 280.00 that I did not owe. This was in 2004 and I still haven't paid because I called and canceled the Insurance, was told when it would stop, and then stabbed in the back. PROGRESSIVE CARES NOTHING ABOUT YOU, BUT CARES ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY. I have decided to give them their ill gotten gains and try to get them off my Credit Report, but will carry a 4x8 sign in the back of my pickup asking people to talk to me before signing with Progressive Insurance.

I know this might seem small to some of you, but until you know what something like this can do to your financial responsibilities, you should walk in my shoes. Progressive is the worst Auto Insurance Company I have ever had the dis-pleasure to do business with. They can remove their negative feedback from me, and I will do the same. Until then, I WILL continue to harm them by word of mouth through my business (telecommunications), my wife's business (Beauty Shop), and any any other means I can. Thanks for reading.

NEVER USE PROGRESSIVE...THEY ARE A RIP OFF!
By -

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- I purchased Progressive insurance in Sept. 2006 and was pissed when my insurance when from $330.00 per month to $440.00 simply because I changed my address. I cancelled my policy online (which they claim that they didn't receive). I received another statement stated I owed $463.96 for the remaining balance after I cancelled my policy. I called them and they basically told me that my insurance went up $330.00 for the address change (the move was not even a mile from each other). Now understand that the zip code DID NOT CHANGE.

And then they tacked on another $106.00 because they claim they didn't receive my home owners info nor my previous insurance holder information when all that information had been faxed to them a week after I acquired Progressive insurance in Sept. 2006. I spoke with a representative, who tried to explain it to me, but still sounded like a bunch of BS to me. I told him is will be a cold, cold day in hell before I pay this, simply because of an address change... THIS COMPANY IS FULL OF ** and I would recommend that NO ONE acquire PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE, THE RIP-OFF INSURANCE COMPANY!

Small Accident Rocketed My Insurance Payments!

DOUGLASVILLE, GEORGIA -- I have been with Progressive for over 3 years and have small accident forgiveness on my policy. Problem is their small accident forgiveness is for $500 or less. Anyone who has had an accident knows that 500 bucks will cover a scratch on car that's about it. Hit my neighbor in the door backing out of the driveway and put small dent in the door cost 1700 bucks! Now they've raise my insurance premium to $800 more and year. They tell you that they only keep accidents on your policy for 3 years instead of 5 like some of the others but if that's the case then I will end up paying them 2400 for the accident plus my insurance premium.

I am sick of all the fine print of these companies written purposely to screw you over in the event of you have to use their services that YOU ALREADY PAY FOR! This is ridiculous to have have to fight with the people you trusted with your business in the first place. Posting this rant on a forum doesn't do us any good maybe makes you feel better that it's out there for people to read but what is actually being done about these things? Time for the little guy to come out on top! If there is a site or forum that actually makes a difference on these things, please let me know!!

CHINO VALLEY AZ, ARIZONA -- Progressive has failed to meet their responsibility on an auto claim. Her client accepted responsibility for damages, but she has been uncooperative and rude to the parties damaged by her client's actions. Her client accepted responsibility from the beginning, at the occurrence of the auto accident, but Ms. has failed to represent her client and assist with the damages to the other party.

Avoid all contact with Ms. **. You will not be represented well. Progressive Ins, please dump this agent, as she represents you - and any other insurance BADLY, VERY BADLY! We tried multiple times to deal with her, to no avail... She is rude and uncooperative despite the fact that her client admits to fault, but due to the uncooperativeness, we continue to battle the issue of a small amount of damages. These damages multiply as her resistance and pain in the ass (extra hassle, time and energy to us) multiplies.

Ms. **, I will never choose to have you as an agent based on the performance you have shown. Anyone considering Progressive Insurance, OR Patti of Chino Valley, Arizona - DON'T DO IT!! We have firsthand knowledge of her lack of performance, rude attitude, lack of professional knowledge. DO NOT DEAL WITH PATTI of Progressive Insurance, Chino Valley, AZ!! I stand behind these statements with personal knowledge and will back them up with facts.

No Check, Been Almost 2 Weeks Now!

GEORGIA -- My brother was travelling from FL to N GA to visit me when he was involved in a car accident that totaled his car in a small town 4 hours away from me (Friday before Vet Day). It is now 11/19 and he is still without a car, or even an insurance check. He has had Progressive for over 10 years and all of a sudden he no longer has his car rental insurance either. He never cancelled it. It took a week before his car was towed away for inspection. Where is FLO?

Needless to say, I cancelled my insurance from them and so will he when this claim is settled. Good thing I was ONLY 4 hours away. The town he was stuck in had no motels or car rental agencies. What would he have done if I had not been nearby (If you consider 4 hours to be nearby)?

Non Renewal

MUNCIE, INDIANA -- I got a letter about a non-renewal notice and no explanation or reason why... I had purchased the roadside assistance thinking this was like AAA. Come to find out this is considered the same thing as filing a claim. After I called they said I had too many of them within 36 months. I am very furious with this company for not better explaining the conditions of this added feature, maybe raise my rate to cover the expenses. I would have even been happy with that. But to just cancel my policy after I had been with them a long time.

I have decided to switch to companies that care about customers first and offer services that work for us. I would have stuck with AAA had I known the nightmare this caused. I will never use Progressive or recommend this company to anyone.

Horrible Customer Service

MADISON, WISCONSIN -- I was rear ended by one of their insured motorist. The company does not return phone calls, they attach a claims adjuster to your claim and then no one else can help you except for that particular person. The supervisor is unavailable as well. I left several messages requesting a call back at work and they call my cell phone stating that they knew I wanted a return call at my place of work... really. Roxan was my adjuster and I hope I never have to work with Progressive ever again. Worthless insurance company. How is only out for money and not people.

My Claim Representative Lied and Blamed Me for the Accident!

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY -- I was involved in an auto accident with a University of Louisville work truck. The police that responded to the accident were the University of Louisville police. The police report was entirely messed up and wrong and had flat out lies in it. My claim representative never contacted me about my claim except to take a recorded statement the day of the accident.

After months of trying to figure out the outcome of my claim I gave up. Eight months later I found out that I was blamed for that accident. And my insurance was going up $75 a month. After calling Progressive and getting information I learned that my claim representative lied in her report saying that she had contacted me and that I accepted blame for the accident. That conversation never took place!

I asked for an investigation of the accident and of the claim representative. I don't believe anything was ever investigated. They did read the information from the police report back to me and upon doing so were very puzzled at what it said. They agreed that it was a conflict of interest for the University of Louisville police to do an auto investigation that involved one of their vehicles. They also struggled to understand the report because of the inaccurate information that was in it.

Nonetheless, Progressive refused to do anything for my policy and said that I would still have to deal with the increase in rate. I have been with Progressive for over 10 years. That's how they treat their loyal customers. Well that is garbage. Progressive is garbage.
