Allowed to Overdraft 800.00 in 6 Hrs in Atlantic City
By -

NEW JERSEY -- I was in Atlantic city and went crazy down there, and made 18 withdrawals in 8 hrs, of almost 900.00. Negative in my account the whole time they just keep giving me and giving me and did not turn me down, I am now paying them back.

I called trying to get them to waive some of the overdraft fees, of over 400.00, And I'm a customer there for over 13 years, was told "no". And the people I spoke to there were so so so nasty, the man say to me "Did you know you didn't have the money in the bank", and I answered him, "not as well as Wacovia knew and my account was neg, and just kept giving me and giving me".

I have a gambling problem, I am not getting help, and yes it's my fault, but doesn't the bank have any responsibility at all? To say "no your account is already negative"??? I felt they do this on purpose, I mean all those withdrawal, coming from Atlantic city. And so so so many overdrafts, and you continue to keep giving me money, that's crazy. I've ruined my credit, and cannot open another bank account till this is paid, and that will take 4 months. Why are they allowed to do this, this is awful.

Wachovia is a bank... a bank is a bank to be a bank... NOT to be your friend... Come on folks, you're all grown people... read your depositor's agreement and schedule of fees - read the information on funds availability; ask questions at the time of account opening.

Yes, NSF fees are awful when you don't expect them and they can certainly be costly, but sheesh - what do you expect to happen when YOU SPEND MONEY YOU DON'T HAVE? - as for my ex-fellow employee who posted a few ago - you're no better than the customer not keeping a register or spending funds for a deposit error - "I spent money that I knew didn't belong to me, but hey, I think I'll still blame in on the big bad bank." - Blah, blah, blah.

Proof of Complaint
By -

PHILA, PENNSYLVANIA -- I complained to my bank about funds being taken out of 2 checking accounts and I didn'€™t recognize the merchants.
This has been going on since June 2004. I lost over $3,000! Each time I went back to the bank to complain they would give me printouts of my accounts and tell me it's nothing they could do because the accounts was negative. Every time these merchants would withdrawal money from accounts, my bank would pay them and then charge me NSF fees and overdraft charges.

After I talked to some friends, I call the fraud unit, I filled out 4 debit card fraud forms, faxed numerous letters.
I took friends to the bank with me because I have not had a banking account for over 30 years. My friends ask the banks to close the debit cards or put a code on them. We was still told it's nothing they could do.

Today 11/08/04 fraud unit informed me that the bank never documented any of my complaints and that they would be sending me a letter, and that I have 10 days to close my accounts from the date posted on letter. And I get no refund of my money! I've been ask by this bank what type of job I have, am I sure I open my account at there location. The bank didn'€™t document my complaints, now I lost all my savings! What can I do now?

Highway Robbery

I have a checking account linked with a Way2Save account. I made a mistake in my calculations which should have caused me to overdraft 1 time. Apparently I had purchases on hold. They charged me an overdraft fee for each purchase that was on hold because my available amount wasn't enough and then I will be charged for each of them again when they actually process. Highly upset!! And the customer representative said that I should learn to balance my money better!!

Thanks for NOTHING!

As most Americans right now my household is struggling right now and this month has been worse with having mechanical bills as well as extra medical bills for our disabled child. I called to request a deferment for this month and was told an aggressive NO. Why? because I am not working! Hello?! If I were working I would be able to make all my payments and not need a deferment. Thanks Wachovia for helping in our times of need. I will NEVER do business with them again.

Wachovia Checks

DECATUR, GEORGIA -- Never let anyone give you a Wachovia check because they don't cash their own checks unless you have an account with them. If they are willing to cash it you will have to pay a fee. If you present a check to Wachovia bank that says Wachovia bank you should be able to cash it whether you have an account with their bank or not.

Hows everyone doing. Please don't bite my head off. I am a customer service rep for Wachovia and some of the complaints on here are valid points but maybe the reasoning behind some of the things we do would help. So if you could post something and I can give some insight. I'm not here to defend because I work for them but bank somewhere else and I'm only in personal accounts only not business. Sorry.
