Dissatisfaction with employees

COCOA, FLORIDA -- I was in my local store (#2314) today. First of all, there were NO 1/2 gal. of regular milk on the shelf. I actually had to ask for one and the girl didn't bother filling the open slots. She only brought me out 1. Secondly in the meat dept., obviously your meat cutters are a bunch of idiots because they obviously don't know the difference between boneless center cut pork chops and country-style spare ribs! And the icing on this cake was the deli. The clerk had to ask me what provolone cheese was! Do you people enjoy employing really stupid people or are you trying to drive your customers away? Good job either way!

I Work at Winn-Dixie and Shop at Publix.
By -

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA -- I work at the Winn-Dixie hdq in Jacksonville, but I cannot actually shop in one at all. I even go to the closest Publix on Riverside to get lunch sometimes. Most of the people that work in the hdq office also shop at Publix even though they offer us a 5% discount. It is just that bad in the Winn-Dixie stores, even if they have been remodeled, they are just not pleasant to shop in, the upper management here at Winn-Dixie is not very good at their jobs, they are mostly in it for the big salaries that they are making.

False Advertisement

MARRERO, LOUISIANA -- The Winn-Dixie #1440 in Marrero is located within a block of a retirement complex. Most of the seniors shop here because it is within walking distance and they don't have cars. The store sells inferior and very fatty meat and puts a label on it stating that it is 80% lean. The meat is light pink and when cooked it requires a person to drain the oil several times. This happens frequently and the public is paying premium price for a fatty and low quality product. Beware of ground beef that is light pink and marked LEAN. Meat is red and quality ground beef should also be red. Winn-Dixie spends millions on advertisement and makes a few bucks by tricking the public.

Shame on you Winn-Dixie. If you are a person that has had this problem let Winn-Dixie know that this type of business practice is unacceptable and that you have other, honest, supermarkets that will give you the product you paid for. Penny rich and dollar poor will be the result of this practice. Winn-Dixie made a few dollars from me but I have had enough and will not tolerate or shop there. If you are ripped off by false labels about the meat products at Winn-Dixie, take control and shop elsewhere.

Making A Bad Situation A Little Better
By -

AUBURN, ALABAMA -- Early one morning as I turned the curve heading home my tire blew out and I had to walk a mile to the nearest store which happened to be a Winn Dixie supermarket. I explained my situation to the cashier and asked for change to use the pay phone to call for help. The cashier was so polite and very friendly and most of all she was very concerned about my situation. I went outside to use the pay phone and it was broken she went out of her way to make sure I was able to call for help and kept checking on me to make sure I was okay until help came. To that cashier, thank you for making what was already a stressful situation a little easier.

Winn-Dixie: A Study of Monumental Morons
By -

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA -- Wow...where to begin? I am just amazed they are still in business. After having read other reviews on this site, I have to concur. I can tell you at the store level, Winn-Dixie will hire ANYONE with a pulse, this includes management. No training, no background check and no class. This would explain the ‘stellar' customer service and product selection.

Winn-Dixie has one of the most outdated point of sale systems, logistics and supply chains in the known world. I swear, they would be better off with a calculator and a cigar box. Oh sorry, that would be too much to ask of the rocket scientists, too busy fussing with their hair and talking on their cell phones whilst digging at themselves with glamour nails.

Winn-Dixie is poorly run from the top down, just take a look at the track record of the CEOs they hire and the golden parachutes the clowns get when they leave only after doing nothing or leaving the company in worse shape than it was before. Winn-Dixie needs to end the charade as a grocer and go out of business to make room for a real store.

Great Service

FLEMING ISLAND, FLORIDA -- I am an employee of WD. I work with a great staff. I have seen on here that some people have had bad experiences in some of the stores. The store that I work at in Fleming Island, FL is a clean, neat, and friendly place. We go out of our way to get our customers what they need or want. At our store we take pride in what we do and how we act. If you have had a bad experience at a WD store, I want you to know that not all of our stores are like that.

Watch Your Back
By -

PENSACOLA, FLORIDA -- I worked for Winn-Dixie for 14 years and had no idea Winn-Dixie no longer stops shoplifters. I had stopped them all 14 years and the last one I stopped they said Winn-Dixie no longer stops them and they fired me. I did love my job and would love to return to it. Watch yourself and let the shoplifters go it is now worth your job. Pass the word to all the employees so this will not happen to you, I no longer have a job with them and I regret it, if I could go back one day in my life that would be it.

Just remember the shoplifter has more rights than you have and they can take anything they want from the store in Pensacola at 9th and Creighton and they will not be stopped. I hope they stay in business but now that Publix has bought Albertsons it is going to be hard for them. Wish I were still there.

Horrible Customer Service Awaits... Go to Costco!! (or even Publix and Wal-Mart)
By -

PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA -- Today, because of the holiday rush at the nearby Publix, Costco, and Wal-Mart I made the mistake of going into a Winn-Dixie to pick up a few items. I left vowing never to return to Winn-Dixie and VOWING TO SPREAD MY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

My wife sent me on an errand to pick up some tomatoes; I picked them up assuming that the listed price would be the price I would have to pay. Imagine my surprise when I learned that the price was in fact a full 50% higher. I informed the cashier of this fact, and the cashier replied that the price was from a sale on the previous day. Ignoring for a minute the fact that this was 4:00PM the day after the supposed sale, the cashier proceeded to deal with me as though I had committed a mortal sin by questioning her foolish explanation for the mix-up.

I spent thirty minutes arguing with this rude cashier and the patronizing customer service manager. Surely a customer deserves better than this. Perhaps this is why I've tried to stay away from your establishment. Thank you for a refresher. Disgruntled Customer Who Will Start a Website.

Useless Attitude From the Cashier
By -

JASPER, ALABAMA -- I had several items which consisted of salad mix, one pound of turkey, a pack of orbits gum, and a six pack of beer. The cashier said not a single word to me and began scanning the products. After she got the total I scanned my food stamp card and waited for the left over total. I sat there looking at her as she preceded to turn and look at me with a look of insolence and said "Them food stamps ain't going to cover that beer. You owe me seven twenty three." I was immediately insulted and said that I understand how the process works.

I'm not a toothless brain dead imbecile, which was exactly how I was being treated. I am a very hard working individual who has high morals and values. But because this ignorant cashier decided to invoke her religious opinions and values upon me I decided to get a lick in. I said "thanks for the information tubby, I had no Idea that food stamps would not pay for beer". She then proceeded to get an attitude of complete disrespect and came back with a "you know that I don't have to sell you this beer right?"

At this point I was disgusted and said let's just do what we have to do so that I can leave here and never return. She finally decided to take my cash for the beer and I walked out of the doors for the very last disgusting time. Winn-Dixie has always been the highest priced store in town. I just went there as a matter of convenience. No more.

This Store Sucks.
By -

NORTH PORT, FLORIDA -- I went to the North Port, FL, Winn-Dixie today. As usual they did not have many of the advertised items, so I came home with a bunch of rain checks. I like my groceries put in a paper bag since that will stand up in the car while plastic falls over. Most of the time they are out of paper bags.

Now they have started something new. When I pay by credit card I have to show my driver's license! When I asked why, I was told it was for my own good - it could be a stolen card. That is what the signature on the back of the card is for. If they would compare that with the signature on the receipt they could see if it is the same.
