Pepboys - Place Is VERY Slow

You don't state why year, make, and model of car you took in, but changing batteries in late-model vehicles isn't always very fast or easy. In two of my vehicles, a crossbrace needs to be removed to get to the battery, which I don't do because of the process involved in removing the brace and getting to the battery, but I can understand it taking my GM mechanic a reasonable amount of time to accomplish. 1 1/2 hours may not be unreasonable if your vehicle's battery is not easily accessible.

I have to agree with saj80. Changing a battery is not as easy as you would think. Depending on the vehicle it may be difficult to get to. Then the cross brace which could be under the air intake needs to be removed. In the higher end cars a disruption of electrical power can be problematic. When removing the battery power still needs to be supplied to the GPS, alarm system, Navigation etc. Also a quality oil change takes time. Over an hour and a half does not seem unreasonable.

Here's my question to you. Why would you trust Pep Boys to work on your car? Most of their "mechanics" are inexperienced minimum wage employees. The potential for problems is huge. Pay a little more and find a local shop that depends on repeat business. They will treat you right.
