Never Rent From Aaron's in Winnipeg Manitoba Cavalier Address

WINNIPEG MANITOBA -- Aaron's Rent to Own in Winnipeg is the biggest fraud ever. They kept on giving us used furniture instead of new. It took them forever to get us the items promised and then in the end we never received the items that we were supposed to get. The staff was abusive and rude the whole time and no one seemed to know what was going on.

Over a period of 3 months we kept asking for our couch and tables, we went from getting old used showroom items to a new couch that was obviously not new (it was torn and had stains on it). They were rude once they had our money and kept on giving excuses as to where our furniture was. They told us our set had been sold to someone who paid upfront with cash. Our half now half on delivery was not good enough. In the end we never did get all our furniture and they will not receive the rest of their money. Good luck if they try to collect.

I also have talked to the police about this situation and a lawyer. The abusive treatment from their manager and staff is still ongoing and my lawyer is going ahead with charges against the company. Good luck if you have a rental already. I would return it and get away from them as fast a I could.

Bugs in My Furniture From Aaron's Rent to Own

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA -- I rented furniture from Aaron's Rent To Own here in Jacksonville Florida on Beach Blvd and they rented me a sofa with bed bugs. The store I received the furniture from did not want to come pick it up for a week so I contacted their corp. office and they sent them out that day with an exterminator and he only found them in the sofa and sprayed only were the sofa was. I know I did not have this problem until they put that sofa in my home. It was a used sofa this is not the first time this has happened with them.

I have read where they have been sued for this before. If I would have known this I would not have rented furniture from them. I am on my third sofa not from no rental company and now it has them. Something needs to be done about this. I have read where they need to use heated trucks to pick up furniture from peoples homes. That's how I got them was from it being used furniture.

WINNIPEG -- I rented a set in which they told me there was only one piece of the sectional in store, but I would receive the other parts in two weeks!!! 3 months went by with no other pieces. Also they said my piece was new. When they brought it to me it had a really strong odor. I asked them why it smelled and they said it was a new couch smell??? I was like "I don't think so!" I asked if it was new... They said "it only sat out on the lot for 3 days."

I asked another sales representative at a different time and they told me three months it was on the floor. So it was USED! I couldn't figure out the smell. I asked them to return the couch and get something different. So, I did and they didn't transfer my payment over from the other couch even with all the complications. And, it turns out there were bedbugs on the couch and I didn't figure it out until a month later when they had already transferred it into my home. It's awful and disgusting furniture there. People return furniture all the time and probably are infested with bedbugs. So gross and unprofessional. Don't rent from them, it's unbelievably unprofessional!

Poor Regional Management

Aaron's Sales and Lease employs very hard working individuals. It is after they are sucked into this company and promoted to general management (becoming the store manager), that things quickly become hell for these good people. Because they are salary, they are then expected to work 55-65 hour weeks without taking their days off because of the constant threat of being fired. This greatly lowers their moral. The management that is above the general managers are called regional managers.

One regional manager in particular ** makes his general managers work on their days off, doesn't allow sick or personal days, and makes his G.M.'s afraid to take their vacations. This man is also very vindictive and sneaky. He will set his G.M. up to do poorly so that he can terminate them. Lots of times it's firing a bunch of people in the store so that the workload is supposed to be done with a skeleton crew. He will also create unprofessional rumors about the employees he is plotting to terminate.

This man has already been taken to court for his unprofessional antics, and yet corporate still mysteriously keeps him around. It is my own opinion that this man desperately needs to be drug tested. Negative behaviors like this trickle down hill and eventually affect the customer. All of this is purely my own opinion.

I Was Lied to and Overcharged!

I was in a pinch and I needed a computer of some kind for my business. So I went to Aaron's rental and got an HP Mini 110. I just needed it for email but the lady also said that I could watch youtube videos and listen to music on it. So I thought I was getting a good deal… 59.99 a month and she told me I was getting a brand new mini. She gave me the box and everything. I got it home after paying 94.00 for it. Thought it was kind of steep but I needed it.

As soon as I turned it on, a blue screen appeared and said I needed to restart it if it was the first time seeing it. So I did. It ran smoothly for about 15 min. Then it froze. Then, I turned it over to take the battery out and noticed that the service tag paper has been worn, which from my experience only happens if it's been used for a while (the heat from the computer causes it to erode away). I am taking it back on Friday. I am not paying 90 something dollars a month for a year on something that I have to manually restart every 20 min. Besides, I can just save up for 2 months and get one that I KNOW has never been used.

Why Is This Man Calling Me After 8:30pm

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA -- I got a call from this man at ** at 8:36 pm. I forgot his name but this isn't the first time I've gotten a call from this company after 8:30. I didn't know who was calling so I called the number back. I told him that my payment would be late. He wouldn't accept it and was very sarcastic and rude. They bring you broken furniture and never show up to fix or replace it but will hound you about a late payment. Never buy anything from Aaron's. I won't ever again. Not to mention… I am a couple of payments shy of owning the living room set.

Beware of Aaron Transfer

EULESS, TEXAS -- They moved us from Dallas to Alpine Texas. They made a lot of promises, but delivered on none of them. Their staff consisted of one experienced mover and 2 trainees who stayed on the cell phone most of the time. They damaged a Sony 60" HD television and refused to pay for it. Shrink wrap was promised when ** came out to assess the move and provide a quote. No shrink wrap. In fact, our mattresses were soiled, headboard, scratched, a new chair was ripped, hardware lost from the armoire, and a family heirloom cedar chest was scratched. These are the worst "movers" ever.

CALIFORNIA -- I understand under the agreement when purchasing a item, if you don't pay they can come get the item. But this company went beyond just asking for the item back. They came when I was at work. The babysitter was scared every time they came over. They knocked with force every time. Scared my 3 year old daughter. One of the times I was home and my daughter answered the door. I asked her to close the door. The man put his foot in the door so she couldn't. I then said close the door again he stuck his head in the door and started to yell in my house. I then said take me to court if you want to resolve this. I haven't heard from them in about a month.

When I went to the store one day my kids father was visiting them outside they came again. This time because he wouldn't let them in he started to threaten to take me to jail. I wasn't there. He then made the comment to call CPS if he ever saw the kids outside. He knows that I am asleep when they come over. That's why I don't answer the door. I am work most of the time they come and do all this. I have told them on several times this a court matter now.

Bad Customer Service

VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON -- I have dealt with Aaron's for about 10 years. Even when I have cash to pay outright for an item I like to use them because of the benefits of the extended warranty you get with them. I learned today the warranty means nothing. 12 months ago we bought a TV on contract and pay 130 a month. We have never missed a payment and have referred many friends and family members to Aaron's. About 2 months ago our TV started having mechanical difficulties. We reported it to Aaron's and they sent a technician out. The tech has been back to our house 4 times over the last month, and now the TV won't turn on.

We went into the store and requested a new TV. The only thing they would do is give us a used TV, that we have to continue paying for. I asked that they apply my payments made to a new TV and I would pay the difference and they refused. I have paid $1,690.00 for a TV and either take a used or give back the one I have and lose all my money. Neither option seems right to me. Also they can not deliver the used TV for 5 days if that is the option we choose. Any suggestions?

ABERDEEN, NORTH CAROLINA -- I am writing in regards to the Aaron's store in Aberdeen, NC. The management are quite annoying. They are constantly calling my home, my work, my family. If only one day late they are calling non-stop. I have had it with them and will soon be returning my merchandise to them.
