Don't Do it

COMMERCE, GEORGIA -- I went to them, because of a salesperson on the phone, thinking I could accomplish this for less money. After all day sitting there, and getting the service, and feeling like a cow in a cattle auction being processed through, I was given a partial. It was very uncomfortable and I told them, they said it would pass. I went back next day and told them my teeth were not meshing. I did not expect to be attacked, but I sure felt I was. The "Dentist" yelled at me, told me I did not know what I was talking about, that it was the way it was supposed to be.

I went to my regular dentist. He told me what they had sold me as a permanent device was what they call in the industry as a 'flipper', a temp device until the real one comes in. Affordable Dentures said that it was permanent. It is most uncomfortable, like having a wad of wax in my mouth, and this is the midrange, not the economy version. Bottom line is, I still have to get the ones that I avoided for financial reasons. They (Affordable Dentures) won't adjust or fix the ones they sold me and are about the rudest people I have ever met.

So not only do I have to spend what I originally had to spend, but I am out $750 to them. The only good thing is that their extractions are very cheap, if you can handle the pain, where they give you a small shot similar to Novocaine, and then pull the teeth with an instrument that has been laying out for at least 15 minutes, and then given unsterile gauze pads for the bleeding and all that in a dirty office. Again, avoid these guys. If they could deliver what their salespeople promise, life would be good, but they are only interested in your money, not your well-being.

MADISON, WISCONSIN -- I worked at Affordable Dentures located in Madison WI for 2.5 weeks, and after working 8 years in the Dental field I've never worked with a company that treated their patients and employees with such disrespect and rudeness. They had patients in and out of the Dental Chair in 2 minutes, it was like an assemble line, only to keep them waiting for hours for crappy dentures that were poorly made, and if for any reason a patients had a complaint or a problem about the fit of the denture the assistant was VERY rude to patients. From my experience I think it's just a rip off they are all about money, there's no good customer service skills at all. Patients complain all the time!! Be warned!

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS -- They were busy, but kept me apprised of what was going on. Staff was great. Dr. looks like he was from outer space, but made me feel comfortable. Got me the premium set of dentures and they fit nicely. Have had problems with the lowers, not the dentures fault, most people do. He discouraged me from getting lower implants because he said he doesn't like doing them.

A year later and many issues I have decided to get the mini implants, but because he sold his practice and I cannot use my Care Credit card I am having to go to one in Friendswood TX for my lower implants. But really, besides the dentist being a little strange, I love my uppers and hopefully after the implants will love my lowers.

Paid for Ultra and Received Junk

TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- First of all you are rushed in and out like cattle with little input since the staff thinks everything is fine even though you try to tell them different. I was shown the Ultra set that was of considerably better quality than all the other options. So I chose to pay the extra cost for That quality. When I received my dentures they were NOTHING like the sample I had been shown! They are cheap junk!

When I asked about the quality and what I had paid for I was told I got the Ultra, so I asked to see the samples again and was shown ONLY the lower quality sets. They belittle you and act as if you should take what you're given and move along while they take your money. They are a complete RIP OFF!

Excellent Quality, Value, Service. Friendly, Clean Awesome!

AUSTIN, TEXAS -- I have seen mixed reviews for Affordable Dentures. I have little to say about them that is bad. It is a franchise and you may have different experiences but overall I think that the quality and value are outstanding! I agree that you should read the information on their website prior to going in, and ask questions if you aren't sure about something. I couldn't have afforded any of this dental work anywhere else but I am kind of thankful for that.

I purchased an economy denture in 2005 and it still looks great. I am having the implants done now that the bottom is ready for the permanent denture and to match it am redoing the top but have no doubt that I could have gotten several years more out of the top one I already have. Dr. ** and his staff are friendly, efficient, and for being a trip to the dentist, it is actually enjoyable going there. Even knowing that this type of office can often have a long waiting period, this office really gets you in and out in a reasonable amount of time. It is a shame that now that I finally found a great dental office, I won't need them anymore. They worked themselves out of a job with me. Thanks!

TYLER, TEXAS -- My friend went to Affordable Dentures in Tyler TX because he couldn't afford to go to a dentist. The last dentist he went to, Dr. **, of Tyler charged him $6,000 to pull 5 teeth and make uppers for him. Less than a year later, the plate split in half and Dr. **'s office to do another one for full price, and would not stand behind his product. So we went to Affordable Dentures. It is over 100 miles round trip and takes the day, not something an 87 year old man does easily.

Doing everything in one day was important to him. No extractions, just a new plate. We have now spent 6 entire days going there, not to mention the cost of gas and the last two trips were because the teeth keep falling out of the denture. When we go to get a single tooth glued in, we still have to wait the entire day!!! When I complained about all of the above, the receptionist told me to shut up. They are so accustomed to dealing with meek senior citizens who feel that they have no other choice, they feel entitled to treat them abusively. Maybe they are preparing them for nursing home abuse??? A verbal beating is a beating all the same.

ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA -- This was absolutely the worst 100 dollars that I've ever dropped in my life. The absolutely most rude of personnel I've ever dealt within my life! And God forbid do not interrupt their lunch hour. Oh it was going to be so wonderful, according to them. Then, after you figure out that the crap they put in your mouth, is exactly that, crap! Now it's time to make you feel stupid for not spending the extra 1000 dollars to begin with, HM I'm professional, and I absolutely would advise if anyone can never step foot through that door in North Carolina then they will be better off!

Bad Dentures and Questionable Proper Extractions

CARTERSVILLE, GEORGIA -- On Jan. 14, 2012, I went Affordable Dentures in Cartersville, Ga to have tooth extractions as well a root tip extractions (where teeth had broken off at the gum line). I was on a morphine pump for back pain for over 10 yrs which destroyed my teeth. When all was extracted, there was no stitching of the extracted areas, as I was expecting. A temporary upper plate was immediately put in and was so bad, that a second one had to be made. I have gone in several times for adjustments to no avail.

I cannot imagine anything more uncomfortable being in my mouth. They may as well have put in a ball of plastic which probably would be more comfortable. 4 months later, I am still gagging and cannot chew. It looks like I will be on a soft diet forever at this point. I tolerate them each day as long as I can, but by about 4:00 pm, they have to come out. It's awful, and I am supposed to have the premium package. Don't think so! I know many, many people with upper plates and have had no problems at all.

My father had them for years and never had a problem. But compared to his, these things I have in my mouth are the thickest ones I have ever seen. I went here because I have no dental insurance and am on disability. I went to other dentists and was quoted prices of $7,000-$10,000 which I could not do. I thought that if I went with their premium package, things would be much better. What a surprise! It's bad, bad, bad!

No Complaints

CHESTER, VIRGINIA -- On February 15th I had thirty teeth pulled and an immediate denture placed. I researched Affordable Dentures thoroughly before taking them my business. The Chester, VA office has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and no complaints within the past year. I was very anxious and fearful - thirty is a lot of teeth. I made a lot of phone calls to the office and every time my questions were addressed with patience.

The dentists treated me respectfully. They had gentle hands, my extractions were painless after all the lidocaine took effect. The injections were painful - they are injections after all. But the fear that pulling my teeth was going to be awful was quickly put aside. My mouth was filled with cotton and I was immediately fit with a temporary full set of dentures. I was prescribed appropriate pain control and a prophylactic antibiotic.

I consider my course so far as better than expected. No dry socket, pain controlled, no infection. I use adhesive on my dentures as instructed and am slowly learning to speak more clearly and eat soft foods. My dentures look just like the teeth I lost and I am going in for my first adjustment on the 21st day after the extractions.

The office was clean and the staff wore appropriate gloves and masks. They washed their hands upon entering my area and cleaned up soil with the proper solution. Cleanliness and infection control are key to my returning for care. I've been an RN for 27 years. Up to this point I don't have any complaints. Nor do I expect any based on my previous experience.

Very Happy

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- I went to Affordable Dentures and was skeptical after reading a few reviews. I had already had a bad experience at Aspen Dental a week prior. Aspen Dental was a huge rip off. I had lost a crown on a front tooth and needed a partial denture because that it broke off at the gum. I also had two upper molars that were broken off and had been told that they would need to be. I have been to many dentists over the years and I must say that removed surgically.

Iris ** the dentist at Affordable Dentures was the best experience I have ever had. She made me feel at ease and was professional. I had three teeth removed and a partial upper denture the same day. The staff was very good and Sherry at the front desk was informative. I was very happy with my end results and would recommend them to all.
