NORTH BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY -- My husband and I purchased the Revolution sofa/Recliner Chair from Ashley in 12/2010 and received it as promised 1/19/11. The window for delivery was 9am-1pm and the gentlemen were here at 9:30 am and delivered the furniture. I don't see any issues/problems.
I haven't had it long enough to comment on the long term quality or the extended warranty. However based on the main complaints I read through (about the delivery and customer service at the store), I experienced great service at the store and the delivery was as promised. Hope this helps for future potential customers.
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA -- We are in the market for 2 recliners. After checking the CPSC site for Lane, Ashley, La-Z-Boy and comparing quality in a number of stores it came down to Ashley and La-Z-Boy. The Ashley recliner was $599 and the Lazy Boy was $999. After reading the reviews on this site and discussing with my wife we agreed to get the La-Z-Boy. The Ashley seemed too inexpensive (and you do get what you pay for).
KATY, TEXAS -- I bought a leather sofa and chair. Chair delivered OK but sofa broken. After the FOURTH broken sofa was delivered, had to cancel the order and get my money back. Worst customer service and quality control I have ever seen. Cheap furniture, no bargains at all. Do yourself a favor and buy from a real furniture store. You will be sorry if you buy from Ashley!
CORBIN, KENTUCKY -- We bought a living room sofa and recliner about two years ago. They were supposed to be leather. The recliner is peeling and the sofa is very easily shifted in otherwise you are afraid to move it for fear it will fall apart.
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- The salesperson pushed hard for the extra coverage. They missed the first delivery date all together. They were 3 hours late for the rescheduled delivery. The chair they delivered was broken. I am now waiting ten days for them to pick up the return. Plan on spending an ordinate amount of time on the phone waiting to talk to customer service, and customer service supervisors will lie to you. Customer service, products and delivery services all suck.
We bought leather recliner sofa for $2000 dollars, right after one year of purchase the leather had so much wear and tear, it had big white patches here and there making the sofa look ugly. We asked the store manager in Fremont whether he can do something, he said nothing can be done because there was only one year warranty to the leather. If the Ashley company see this complaint and could take some actions on it it will be appreciable as we spend 2000 dollars on it.
We purchased a set (couch and recliner) and loved it at first. Within 3 years the couch's frame started to fall apart and now my recliner's back support frame is broke. I've emailed and tried calling Ashley's service department and still have had no response from them. I have a strong feeling that we will never buy anything else from them. If you can't stand behind a warranty why have one. I paid 2300.00 dollars for junk. Next time I might as well go to a yard sale.
We have two leather recliners which were made by Ashley furniture. The recliner release mechanism broke on both recliners and we were informed by the company that they don't have the part. I found the part at http://www.gracerestorationsupplies.com. (THE EXACT PART FOR ABOUT $25.00.) These chairs were in good shape otherwise and we were appalled when we found out Ashley didn't have/couldn't get the part, but were happy when we found it at Grace Restoration.
AUGUSTA, GEORGIA -- I purchased a leather sofa and recliner and a cloth recliner. While comfortable at first it turns out the things are stuffed with polyester fiber fill. You know, the really cheap stuff where good quality foam should be used. The fiber fill doesn't stay in place and you soon have furniture with lumps in the seating and back from the fill moving. The LEATHER recliner is sprayed with something to color it. This spray wears off. Your NEW furniture very quickly looks to be years old and worn out. Ashley got me once but never again.
