WARREN, MICHIGAN -- I got two week passes to join the gym. I went there and the first thing they ask me for credit card. I spoke to 4 different people and they all say different words. They put me on 3 year contract and they throw away my passes. I didn't wanted to go there anymore. They all liars and I have no idea what to do. I join only one club. Every time I want to go there I get sick in my stomach seeing those crooks.
I joined Bally in May of 2008. I have clearly asked the General Manager at the Gym “What are the penalties for cancelling the membership and how can I cancel?" He said "One Month notice and $100 Cancellation fee”. When I tried to cancel it, they said that I have to relocated 25 miles away or I should have some medical problems.. I was surprised. BIG LIARS! Do NOT join BALLY! Do NOT take any guest pass! They have filed for Chapter 11. I hope they close it soon! BALLY sucks!
VOORHEES, NEW JERSEY -- I had a 30-day pass from their website taken to the fitness center which they told me that I should be able to use it. On the third day I was told that my pass expired and they showed that to me on the computer and I know that they changed it. Though I wanted to become a member to that club, I decided not to be after this kind of service from the club. Very poor customer service.
ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- I belong to the Bally's on Cobb Pkwy in Atlanta. Their priorities are misplaced. They are making cosmetic changes while there are numerous machines which have been out of service for at least 4 months. For example, there are about 7 non-functional treadmills. It's been about 3 years since they put new stalls in ladies restroom; a couple of the stall doors have never closed properly. The TV's are finally working after 2 or 3 months of being out of service. One isolated TV in the club was working all along, which means that the satellite was working.
