Cricket - Customer Service? What's That??
By -

For the first time in my life I got a cellular phone. I have very limited finances and do not use the phone a lot so Cricket seemed ideal. I was VERY WRONG!!! Ever since I got it, I have had problems making calls, getting caught in endless ACD loops, & Customer Service?? Forget it!! I called Customer Service today because I was caught in another ACD black hole and not only did I get the impression that the ONLY English the agent knows is that which is in their script, but I'm pretty certain the agent wasn't ALLOWED to say anything that WASN'T in the script.

On top of that they never registered my service plan change and refused to give me any kind of refund.Additionally, the only "HELP" I was given for the ACD loop was "Wait 24hrs for the service change to take effect and reprogram the phone." I MEAN COME ON!!!! I used to work in Customer Service when it MEANT SOMETHING!! Like HELPING people! What happened to the CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT??

Poor Customer Relations
By -

TEMPE, ARIZONA -- Attempted to make a payment online at my account. System refuses to take my payment, with the error message "zip code is not in the state indicated". My zip code is about 8 months old. I signed up 30 days ago, upgraded my phone online and paid for it with a credit card (same address). Telephoned customer service, they do not wish to address the issue, they can only read from a script. This is similar to talking to a computer. I went to the corporate store, lady says she got it all fixed, so rather than wait an additional 30 minutes to make a payment, I go home, 38 miles.

At home I find that I cannot make a payment since it does not recognize my zip code. I spend 40 minutes on the phone, mostly on hold with customer service who cannot help me, refuses to let me speak to a supervisor, and speaks very poor English.

I sent an email to Leap Wireless and received a response from Gregory ** who says he'll see what he can do. The email explains the problem. I get another email from Edgar ** Customer Relations Team. Edgar tells me to call customer service and tell them the problem. Yeah, I replied to Gregory with "thanks for trying". I won't go through this much trouble to make the second payment on any service. If a company is going to make you jump through hoops to remain a customer, they don't want your business. In my opinion this service is for the very desperate people.

Why Do We Have to Pay $3.00 to Pay Your Cricket Bill in a Cricket Establishment?
By -

WINSTON SALEM, NORTH CAROLINA -- Cricket really is a ripoff. When you go to a Cricket establishment to pay your bill you have to pay $3.00 fee as if you went to the Power Company and paid your Cricket bill. Why is this? That is so stupid. That's the reason why I discontinued wireless service with this company. For instance if I go in the Cricket establishment to pay my power bill I will expect to pay $3.00 for cricket to handle this service which is not a part of Cricket. But when you go to a Cricket Authorized Dealership to pay your Cricket bill and is charged $3.00 to pay your bill in a building that has Cricket big as day on the building I think that is a big ripoff.

I only wish the FCC could really be aware of this act. They are really taking people for stupid and people without good credit has to suffer from a company using them all because of low credit mark. Sprint, Verizon, even AT&T does not charge this fee when you come to pay your bill in one of their authorized establishments.

Cricket Wireless Service Isn't a Service at All
By -

TUCSON, ARIZONA -- If you are a prospective Cricket Wireless service doing some preliminary company research, pay attention to list of negative reviews you have undoubtedly found so far. I didn't. First of all, Cricket customer service is anything but service. If you attempt to call to clear up any billing issues, you will NEVER get a live person to speak to, as soon as you enter your personal information, you get directed to their automatic payment options. After trying to speak with a real person for weeks, I decided to google another customer service number besides the one listed on my bill/their website. I then selected the "new customer" menu option, and got a live person right away.

My main issue was that I was charged for service for an entire month while I only received service for about a week. After patiently trying to appeal to a string of representatives and managers that I paid for services that were not rendered, and the inherent unfairness of this situation, I was basically told "sorry but good luck".

If one does a cost/benefit analysis for this situation, it is plain to see how giving me a partial refund for one month's service is a small price to pay in return for my remaining a customer for at least few years. The refund would have been around $30, and they would have continued receiving a steady $50. As a previous store manager, I cannot understand the logic behind the way Cricket conducts its services, and they have permanently lost me, as well as everyone I know as a customer.

I'm also filing a complaint with their corporate office. There are other cell phone companies out there, and I'd suggest getting service from them instead.

Cricket Rebate Scam

NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS -- Cricket promises a $200 Visa card rebate on a $299 phone. Great deal, right? Only problem is they tell you close to the end of the program that you didn't send all the correct info, rebate denied and it's too late to resend the info. We sent all the correct info, which they admitted, but it's too late to get the rebate now.

The phone's OK but I damn sure wouldn't buy a phone for that much. All I need it for is a phone, and the camera is nice but that is stupid expensive for a phone if you don't use it for internet, etc. I'm not the only scam victim I know of, no one I no has gotten a rebate form Cricket. "Sorry we can't help you" - Translation: tough **, you lose. Next stop BBB and Attorney General's office.

Bad Customer Service, Order Off Internet

LEES SUMMIT, MISSOURI -- When I ordered my phone from the call representative nearby, they told me that once I get my phone it'll be ready to use. Once I got my phone, I read the introductions and it told me I need to keep it charged over night. Well I did so, and I continued the activation instructions. Activation unsuccessful. I called the customer service (located in India!!!) And they kept on saying "Um okay yes yes okay ** stupid **." They told me that they cannot activate it and told me to go to the nearby store. I did that and the store even told me they cannot even activate it and I need to go to a corporate store located 45 minutes. I told them "** that, that is stupid and I want to return my phone".

I've asked these people to go get their supervisor and they kept on saying "I am looking for one" but keeps on picking up the phone every minute to see if I'm still here. Do not use Cricket Wireless, worthless ** company which their customer service is in India. All store reps are foreigners!

Misinformation and No Refund

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA -- I got the ZTE Chorus Muve music phone online from myCricket.com, I called and got the phone activated and was told the only plan available was the $45 plan even though the website states the $55 muve music plan only works for this phone. I believed him and went with the $45 plan and not only did I not have access to my music feature I ran out of minutes in 2 weeks. I called and was told that the $55 plan works for that phone so I put $55 on the phone, still no music feature and I called the automated system to check on when I had to put more money on and was told I was on the $45 plan and had $9.45 extra on my acct.

I called and was told that the $55 plan isn't available in my area even though you have to put your zip code in to see available phones and plans in my area. I was told they don't offer refunds, I asked for a supervisor and was placed on hold for 35 min, I hung up, called back, was placed on hold for another 10 min, hung up and called back and finally got transferred to a supervisor and was told per terms and conditions they don't offer refunds. Ridiculous!!

The Best Cellphone/Service I Ever Had
By -

I have been with Cricket Wireless cellphone service since the beginning of 2007 and would NEVER use or recommend any other wireless phone service. Prior to Cricket I had used Virgin Mobile, Cingular, and other services. For one thing I could never hear or be heard while on calls. I never had service or bars on my phone. I always had to buy more minutes or talk at certain times like nights or weekends, and was locked in to a contract!

Once I switched to Cricket I cannot for the life of me see why I still hear my friends complaining about how they get no service in this or that place, or they are running out of minutes, or only get a certain amount of texts, or how the bill is so high, or how they can't switch phones because they are locked in for two more years! Seriously??

I tell everyone I know, "Just go with Cricket and you will always have service, bars, and be able to hear the other person crystal clear 99% of the time. You will make and receive unlimited U.S. calls and texts, local or long distance anytime of the day or day of the week! You will also get unlimited internet access, and never be locked in to a contract." I pay just $60 a month (includes insurance on the phone) for all this.

It baffles me why anyone would deal with any other cell wireless company with their contracts, no service or bars anywhere, limited minutes/texts/internet, and poor call quality. I suggest everyone uses Cricket. I honestly don't know how the other wireless companies even stay in business when Cricket is so readily available and so clearly superior.

No Problems With My Cricket
By -

I was paying too much at Verizon and looked at Cricket. I read all of the negative comments and saw that most were customer service complaints. I took a chance, ordered two phones and received two phones in two days. I activated the phones on my own and tried them first before porting. They worked the same as Verizon!! No dropped calls, no missed texts, and I'm paying $80.00 for two versus 191.00 with Verizon.

I ported the numbers BUT called the porting department directly as another writer said and guess what? No problems, both ported within the estimated 3 hour time limit given. Phones have been working just the same as Verizon, but without the price. Now the bad - If I choose to cancel because of poor reception or whatever I can cancel at any time. NO CONTRACT!! I'm in.

Wireless Phone "Screeching" Noise
By -

DICKINSON, TEXAS -- I have heard it all! Is there no more customer service? Are the FED's listening to our calls? Well, that is what Cricket Wireless claims... I have had a horrible "screeching" sound that generates from my Samsung Messager (keyboard type) mobile cellphone for about 1 year! The sound runs through wireless and landline phones! I am so embarrassed when the person I am speaking to explains "WOW, what was that piercing noise?" I have called repeatedly to Cricket representatives and in respect to (2) they have tried to fix the problem... however, the noise still remains!

They claim to have never heard of this problem before... they explained it may be a satellite that it picking up my cellphone. So, I changed my number... the noise still exists... the last explanation... "Could it be the FBI, CIA are tracing you conversations?" Unbelievable!!! I just need HELP w/ no more excuses. I made $200.00 for each mobile phone and they don't work! Please complain if you share in the "screech" noises. I need to be able to talk w/o being sued by someone threatening I've hurt their eardrums!
