Cricket? more like "Crooked"
By -

Well, if you are thinking about using Crooked for your international long distance calls to Mexico, beware: They don't tell you it doesn't work in all areas and sometimes doesn't even work where is supposed to. Let me explain:
My friend has Crooked service since last year and let's me borrow his phone to call Mexico. The quality isn't great but it worked so I decided to get my own number with Crooked. Surprise! It says I have to buy time! I called their customer disservice 7 times and the first two representatives told me my area is included; all I needed was to reprogram my phone.

Never got it to work and three times they hanged up on me! Talk about bad service in every aspect. The last two times I called was to cancel my service but never got to talk to anybody. On top of that you get a lot of dropped calls. Stay away from Crooked. You get what you pay for and sometimes not even that.

Cricket is horrible-like having no service!

Cricket was the new provider in town and seemed to have it all. Low rates, good coverage, decent phones... but the phone never seemed to have coverage. Roaming wasn't included in the $50 per month charges so all my calls would go to voicemail. When I tried dialing, I would be roaming and they would want to charge me 39 cents per minute to make the call. Then their 2 month old phone, a Samsung Messenger II broke and I had enough. But to cancel I had to speak to 4 people who spoke broken English two of which were trying to keep me as a customer.

They also went ahead and billed me for the next month and told me they could not refund that amount but finally relented after taking all the information they already had and making me FAX them the information. Besides, I have had phones turn obsolete before they broke with other services and with Cricket, there was no service any of the time. I am surprised it took me so long to cancel.

Cricket phones are worthless!! I purchased a phone, less than a month the speaker went out and it wouldn't even ring! When I returned it they charged $15 to transfer, then didn't have the phone I originally bought, so they replaced it with another "temporary" phone until it was in stock later that week. When I returned for the phone they told me they couldn't exchange it for that phone because I already accepted this one.

Also called me a liar for telling them they told me they would replace it later, they just wanted me out of the store because they were busy with other customers who also had problems with their phones - customer service is horrible - they just transfer you to someone else then someone else until you eventually get hung up on or your p.o.s. phone drops the call!

Don't Go With Cricket Wireless

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- Cricket Wireless is NOT WORTH WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON. The broadband speed not only sucks big time but their customer service is CRAP. From day one of purchasing a broadband card and service it didn't work right and all the store we purchased it from would do was tell us to call technical support or go to a corporate store.

All technical support would tell us was that they had done everything they could and that we needed to take it back to the store we got it from. The store we got it from wouldn't do anything and said we had to take it to the corporate store. The corporate store said they couldn't do anything because none of the 3 calls we had made to tech support had been documented on our account and that we had to return the device to the store it was purchased from. All we got was the run around.

We did cancel the service after a week of nothing but issues and nothing being resolved. Now we are out the activation fee and the $111 we paid for the modem. Calls to the 800 number got us nowhere. CRICKET SUCKS. By the way, we went to Clear Wireless and the service is great and we have no issues with the modem at all.

Cricket Wireless Is the Worst
By -

Cricket wireless is exactly what they set out to be, but even worse "The CHEAPEST" in all ways. They are the lowest cost for unlimited talk/text. We needed to cut our costs for cell phones, so we switched to Cricket. Now, it is tempting to continue to pay the higher prices for a better company, or not have cell service altogether. Customer service is difficult to get (they do not have 24 hr customer service both by phone and internet login), actually getting a live person to help you is tricky if not impossible. If you are late on your payment, you can't talk to anyone, period, you can only make a payment.

Roaming is ridiculous. Anytime you add or change a feature you have to dial a code from your phone from your HOME area. So if you need roaming, call them before you leave your home area, no emergencies allowed. Then if you are traveling outside your home area, it's CALLS only, NO TEXTING. Seriously? With all the technology these days we can't have texting while roaming? Nope. Customer service agents are not helpful and don't know anything more than what they read from their screen. I have never had a worse experience yet here I am, sticking it out because of lower cost and no contract. What can you say?

Cricket Has Very Poor Customer Service
By -

Don't buy Cricket's mobile service if you are looking for a carrier with good customer service and technical support. I have so many examples of their bad customer service that it would take me all day to explain them here in detail. The bottom line is that Cricket makes it NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE to speak with a live customer service representative.

Their so-called 'customer service' is actually the bad example given at the start of a customer service and appreciation class I attended recently. The foundation of the class was built upon the bad aspects of customer service found at Cricket. I do not work in the mobile phone industry so it wasn't a carrier vs. carrier kind of class. Nothing like that. Cricket has no appreciation for their long term customers, no incentives for them. They lost me, a customer of eight years, today due to their bad customer service. If you are reading this review and you are thinking about trying Cricket Wireless, you have been warned. If you know somebody who has Cricket service, just ask him or her.

Sure if you go to Cricket's website, www.myCricket.com, and you are wanting to purchase a phone or service, they display all kinds of methods of contact including a LIVE CHAT with a Cricket representative! This is deceiving. Cricket is willing to speak with you if you are willing to spend money on a new phone or service but if you have a problem with or a question about the service or if you need technical assistance, you will be at a dead end.

Cricket Is A Scam!!!

CARSON CITY, NEVADA -- I got the broadband on December 1st, 2009. I paid it for the month. I went in on January 2nd, 2010 to pay my bill because everything was closed on the 31st and the 1st. I went to one place, they only take cash, they sent me to another, they only take cash. I didn't have cash on me. Very inconvenient to the customer. So, then I went to the cricket est. and they informed me, since I was late paying due to a holiday, I have to pay $3 late fee, $2 in store fee, and $10 to reactivate.

Why the hell would I pay $15 to get my service?? On top of that, they sent me a bill a week later, saying I owe them for two months when I only needed to pay for January!! December was already paid for!! AND I NEVER GOT MY MAIL IN REBATE BACK!!

Cricket Wireless Service Is Worthless

This is the WORST phone service I have ever encountered. *611 is customer care's number but it only results in getting sent back through the main menu over and over. Dialing 1-866-384-4425 gets you through to the phone return center and you can actually speak to a customer service agent but they are dishonest and refuse to honor their own agreements. Escalating to a supervisor often results in disconnection.

I requested a review of a conversation with customer service agent Gerard who agreed to handle my problem. The manager stated that the review would require 24-48 hours. 7 days later I called again and there was no record of any review or escalation. No record of any offer to fix their error. They did have record of my payments but not any record of my several requests to correct their errors.

Refund

MACON, GEORGIA -- I had brought my niece a cricket phone when she move to Macon GA like 1yrs ago so when she came to Miami to visit her phone broke. I called Cricket to see if we could send it back for they could fix it which they couldn't. So in May I cancel their phone services in August I check my bank account and found out that they are still charging me for a phone that haven't been use in over 4 months. I called to see how could I get my bank account credit back. I could get in touch with no one. Cricket phone services is the worst phone services ever and they are rip off.

Cricket Is the Worst!

I purchased 1 phone online with a sales rep, then a two days later received 2 confirmations for 2 phone each at 198.94. I called and was told that since the phones had been processed and shipped I could not stop the order and had both charges of 198.94 taken from my account. So now I'm out a ton of money, pissed off and they tell me I have to wait until I receive them to cancel.

Okay so 3 days go by I receive 2 phones and then call the company again and after being transferred to about 4 people they tell me I need a RA number to return and their system is being upgraded. So guess what I will have to wait for them to call me in 72 hours for the RA numbers then it will take 30-60 days for my refund, after they take the activation fees and taxes (40.00) each phone!!!
