BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA -- We are not happy with the service. When watching a show it will pause momentarily for no reason and then start again a few moments later. Does this often. Let it start raining hard and we lose the signal completely. Really sorry we switched from cable. Now, we were able to watch LSU baseball all of last year, that's why we pay extra to have a TV in the man cave, because all the neighbors come over to watch the game. But this year we can't get the games. This really sucks.

STATHAM, GEORGIA -- What is the mathematical probability that every song played on DirecTV Sonic Blues cable channel are by male blues singer? It would take an idiot not figure out blue that some person programmed Sonic Blues to only play male singer. Can they possibly play some female blues singer songs? Here are a few suggestions - Billie Holiday, Ma Rainey, Etta James, Ethel Waters, Bonnie Raitt, Janis Joplin, and Bessie Smith.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS -- I really do not understand why this company is still in business... So my wife and I were on speakerphone with the sales representative with DirecTV and the "gentleman" on the other end quoted us prices that we were genuinely excited about. We scheduled a so-called technician to come and install the package for us this morning.

First of all, he showed up at 7:45 AM before I had even left for work in a raggedy little S-10 pickup with no logos or anything showing affiliation with DirecTV. I imagine all the dents and dings on his truck came from unsatisfied customers throwing rocks and junk at him as they ran him off their property. The nasty S.O.B. made my wife extremely uncomfortable the whole time he was there.

While installing in my bedroom with my wife "supervising" the job, he at one point started rubbing his hands along her back and winking at her! I told her she should have kicked him out on the spot... Also, this Jackwagon ran the cable in my living room wall along the trim of my wall and up and around the frame of my front door. It looks like crap! He waited until after he was finished to inform us of what he had done, trying to instruct my wife on how the remote worked, when he said, "Don't push this button. It is for high-definition programming." What the heck!!! That was part of the package we purchased.

That was not the only thing the salesman lied to us about... We were told the installation would be free... Except they charged us @ $21.00 to do it! We were told that a HD-DVR was included in our package... Nope! Lied to us again! I am now under the impression that these "salesmen" are actually telemarketers that will say whatever they can to get you to bite, so they can get an extra $ spiffed their way.

When my wife called Customer Service to convey our displeasure over the whole situation, she had to go through several folks just so she could actually understand them due to their accent. When she finally had a supervisor on the phone, she got passed from one to another. All we requested is that they stick to what they had originally quoted us. We know they "record all phone conversations for customer SATISFACTION, and training purposes..." So we told them to pull the phone records with our exchange with their "salesman" so they could verify the validity of our claim.

Guess what, that information was not available according to one of the supervisors, yet another subsequent supervisor said it must have been deleted from their system because she could not find it! They can't even communicate with each other to keep their LIES straight.

The only options we were given were: A) Accept their superficial apology, and keep the service as is... B) Accept their superficial apology, and pay double what we were quoted to get what we originally wanted. (Which by the way, meant waiting 3-4 days for them to come back out to do the job correctly); C) Deny their superficial apology, tell them to stick to their word or they can stick it _______ (fill in the blank).

We chose "C"... Told them to turn their guy right back around and pick up their crap, and not to touch one penny in our bank account! "That's not how it works." is the response we got. "We will send you some boxes, and you can mail our products back to us, then you will get a full refund in about 30 days, minus the $21.00 installation fee..."

THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM!!! If you are considering DirecTV, I implore you to reconsider... There are many other providers out competing with this Hackjob TV service. I've noticed the others quotes are a bit higher, but at least they will have the ethics or good morality to keep their word, understand the importance of customer service, and won't send some pervert to your house trying to eyeball your wife!

Also, in comparison to my other complaints, this one is minor; The jerk that came into my house and put in this CRAP, also had no qualms with leaving his garbage and waste throughout our home. I have a 14 month old who already puts everything in his mouth. I don't need anybody else leaving surprises for us to find, much less a creepy stranger.

Hopefully, I have saved at least one person from this type of headache, if they have read this prior to signing up... There is a reason that over 90% of the reviews are painting DirecTV in a negative light. It's because it's true and this company is not in touch with the consumers of their product... HEED THESE WARNINGS! STAY AWAY FROM DIRECTV!!!

KINSTON, CALIFORNIA -- I have been with DirecTV for a couple of years. Every time the wind, rain or any bad weather comes my TV goes completely out. The TV freezes up when temperature drops below 32 degrees. This has been a problem since Thanksgiving day. Even has ask me to check Dish. Really? I am not a technician. Will be leaving them as soon as I get my disability check. CenturyLink, I have no problem with.

ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA -- Had DIRECTV for one year. Today TV had message "Searching for satellite signal..." Nothing else is working. To get system going DT suggested I should get a service visit, and guess what? I have to pay for it! It's not going to happen. I am going back to cable.

AURORA, INDIANA -- We had Directv installed a few months ago. The service was decent, the price wasn't bad, but everything else was horrible. First: I recently took a job in Miami where my new company furnished my home (including my cable service). I was forced to cancel my Directv service. I did my research and I found out that it is $20 a month for the remainder of the contract to cancel... no problem. I can understand that.

It was on that day that I found out that when Directv had installed my satellite dish (I was out, my roommate was home) they had verbally authorized themselves to sign me up for an extra 2 YEARS on my contract for a free installation. Now my cancellation fee is $400+. Second: I called in to cancel my service. They argued with me and I was forced to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor said there was nothing they can do about the cancellation fee (yeah right!) but I reluctantly backed down and agreed to pay the $400+ cancellation fee.

Third: A month later I go to check my final bill (paid the last month so should be the cancellation fee) and found out they never turned off my service. I was billed for another month. I called in and they said they'd cancel my service but COULD NOT credit the last bill back. This is without a doubt... the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I DO NOT recommend Directv to anyone out there.

DES MOINES, IOWA -- I was looking for internet service, called Century Link. They told me I could save by bundling with DirecTV. I would get more channels for just a little more. So I thought what the hell I will give it a go. The tech shows up and tells me that I'm not getting any digital channels with the receiver that I was getting, that should have been my first alarm. I'm thinking I have a trial period, no big deal. So I try it out for 4 days, not happy at all.

I'm paying more money for BS channels I would never watch. Mostly Shopping and Sports Channels. I call to cancel the service on the 5 day and they tell me that I would have to pay an early cancellation fee. A $480 after 5 days of service... They did tell me that I could pay an extra $10 a month for digital service and that would make me happy. I could not get her to see that paying more money for less service was not going to make me happy. By less service I mean I went from having 4 TVs with service to 2 TVs with service and still paying more for 2 TVs with no digital. Stick to cable if you have the option you get digital channels on as many televisions as you want for one price and cheaper.

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS -- Attention homeowners and landlords - consumer alert: Don't let satellite dish companies install satellite dishes on your roof. Landlords should have clauses in leases forbidding roof installation of dishes as well. Dishes can be placed on decks, poles, or on the ground or you can get cable instead. Our tenants had 3 dishes installed on our house without our permission. One dislodged and blew over leaving open holes on our roof which resulted in damage to the roof and interior walls and ceiling. Damages were more than $3,000. The tenant and DIRECTV assumed no responsibility and we had to pay for the damages ourselves!

GUTHRIE, OKLAHOMA -- Not user friendly at all. They have a huge list of On Demand shows that take a LONG time to load and their selection of documentaries is very short. If you don't pay extra for the whole channel, you can't watch any shows on the On Demand list. AND they put the channels you don't get on their guide list with no distinction from the channels you don't get. They don't even warn you when you try to record a show from the channels you don't get. It even shows up on your recorded shows list and when you try to watch it, it says please call DirecTV to add this channel. I can't wait to switch back to Dish.

SPANAWAY, WASHINGTON -- I had a young couple come to my door and ask me if I would like to try DirecTV service? I told them that we were satisfied with our current service, they told me that I could try their service for 30 days with no obligation. So we said we would give it a try. After 2 weeks we realized that it didn't fit us so we canceled the service. We received a bill for 445.00. When we called customer service we were told that they weren't responsible for the sales people's lies. What kind of way is that to run a business? (Undercover Boss was a farce for customers.)
