MINNESOTA -- Terrible customer service. I questioned my bill and the rep, her name was Ian (hard to understand) was very rude and was raising her voice at me!! When you pay over $100 for a service you should have some respect! After this phone conversation, I will be cancelling my service with them!

FORT MYERS, FLORIDA -- I subscribed to Dish Network and locked in the price for two years. I went on vacation and suspended the service while I was gone. I was never told that this would void my contract. When I activated my service they charged me double my locked in rate. I called customer service, they told me my contract was not honored any more because I suspended it for that period. So I asked since they would not honor it, I would like to cancel. They told me that would cost me a large penalty. Instead tried to sell me a new package. I can't wait to drop dish.

ARIZONA -- Today 8/26/16, I spent 58 minutes off and on with a Dish representative in TX to get this new Flex pack in order to get my bill down as they had raised it to $165 a month. I selected 48 channels which included my local channels. And surprise, 10 minutes later, no local channels, and still only a $30 reduction by removing smart network support and protection plan. Therefore, I had to call back AGAIN and thankfully got a representative who could speak English well. She was able to help me with local channels and reduce my bill by $50 a month.

Where is the consistency with this company?? I do appreciate the second representative who worked with us so rated an average due to her patience, efficiency, and actually helped us. I guess it depends on WHO you talk to with DISH as well as being persistent.

PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS -- Don't ever EVER use Dish. They promote a bundle that's supposed to be all inclusive including the internet and then after they install it they tell you that the internet they provide won't work for the on demands so you would need to find your own server jacking your price up. Their customer service, if that's what you want to call them, are absolutely worthless.

Next is the account specialists they connect you to who are twice as worthless. They proceed to tell me that they never promised anything, they are right, you are wrong, too bad, so sad, then it's on to the elite 'president's office' which is the upper echelon of all problem solvers but really not. They basically say the same thing as if reading from a script.

The bottom line, they lied to get their sorry product in my home. They act stupid when you call them on it and then they want to penalize you for wanting to cancel them. If that is not enough, they went into my husband's social security disability and took out 500.00 dollars they said was a disconnect fee without authorization. That card was never given as a payment method for their services but they took it out anyway.

When I asked if they were going to pay for my husband's medicine or food, they completely blew me off and could care less. I have never encountered a more unprofessional, uncaring, rude, lying group of people like I did here. If Dish come knocking, run the other way.

BULLARD, TEXAS -- I had a new Dish system put in and their technician stole my $400 wedding set out of my room that was in my jewelry box my husband bought me while overseas and then signed my name to a contract that I never got or seen but he signed it for me. I made a police report and some theft department I am supposed to deal with never calls me back and calls me a liar when I know I just took it off before he showed up to do some yard work and put it in my jewelry box. The president of Dish says despite of the fact I am not the one who signed it they will not be disputing the signature and the don't dispute signatures. I attached the picture of my ring that he stole to this.

ROMNEY, WEST VIRGINIA -- I have been a Dish customer for 4 years. The service is terrible, the TV goes out often and the internet is almost as bad as dial up. Now, for the billing, all thru the 4 years, they have added charges to my bill, with no explanation, just a few dollars every couple of months. Most are under 6.00. Last month I accidentally paid the bill twice. I guess I hit the pay button 2 times. I contacted Dish and they WOULD NOT reimburse me. I called my bank and they stopped the second payment.

As soon as my bank did that, Dish sent emails and put things, like your account is past due on my TV screen. Mind you, I did make the payment and on time. They just wanted that second payment. After that, I got a notice saying, I had gone over my usage on the internet and charged me 10.00. Now, in 4 years, I have never, ever, come close to going over my limit. The month they picked to charge me for this was a month that I was gone for 8 days.

THEN, when I got online to pay the next month's bill, I was informed that I could no longer pay online because of the 2nd payment that was returned to me. If they would just get someone in there, who knows what they are doing, the service/billing might and that's a big might be better. I have since changed my service to Frontier. The price is 30.00 a month cheaper and I have 12 gb instead of 10.

OCEAN SHORES, WASHINGTON -- Someone needs to file a class action lawsuit against Dish Network. When current customers signed up for their service, FOX network was an offered channel. We on the West Coast know NASCAR and THE SEAHAWKS are brought to us by Fox Network. Yet for the last month and a half there has been no FOX network, thus no NASCAR. In the next 7 days, professional football starts and there will be NO Seahawks games provided to DISH customers via the Fox network.

It seems to me that this is a significant inconvenience to the paying customer whom expected this service when contractually agreed to DISH services. And, Dish is not willing to provide a discount for the inconvenience. Then when you go to a provider that does offer FOX, Dish charges you an outrageous cancellation fee of which they refuse to discount or waive due to their lack of service! There is certainly something wrong with this scenario and Dish should not be getting away with this injustice to the consumer.

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- I am beyond disappointed with Dish. I NEVER in my life experienced anything so foolish. I had to take off two days of work and had two different technicians come out to my house just for them not to install my service. I called and spoke to the manager and he was very nasty with me and kept cutting me off and talking over me. The technician that came out told me she wasn't an electrician but ran throughout my house taking nails and plates off of all my outlets!!!

I only been a Dish customer for 3 days and experienced the WORST encounter ever with a cable company!!! Please don't be a fool like me and waste your time or money. I'm going back to Comcast where they treat you with respect!!!

OKLAHOMA -- Was told I didn't have to sign a contract and the guy that came in set up my receiver's - was here for 4 hours. I didn't know what he was doing. Was frustrated. By the time he left said," Here, I need you to sign," that you didn't tell me what it was and a couple minutes later I received an email saying I signed a contract. I tried to talk with them. I've been a customer for 6 years and they said, "Well you can just cancel it and will charge you $500." They are shady and Liars. Do not recommend.

ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO -- I recently decided to get cable/satellite television, and internet. It seemed it would be best to get the services “bundled”, to keep everything together with one company. In speaking with several companies, I had decided it would probably be best to go with one particular company. However, upon speaking with a GoDISH sales agent, I was led to believe that DISH was partnered with AT&T U-verse. His sales pitch was that I would be getting DISH AND AT&T internet. Only after I signed the contract did I learn that DISH was NOT partnered with AT&T. Not only that, but I can't even get AT&T at my residence.

Since my decision was based on the fact that I would be getting AT&T through their partnership, I felt I had been deceived. When I realized that I had been duped, I called DISH (June 3, 2016) and complained, stating that I was led to believe that they were partnered with AT&T, and I had made my decision on that basis. Since that was not the truth, the contract should not be binding. I spoke with Hector, who said he would review the transcript (recording).

Hector called back on June 16, 2016, and reported that he had listened to the recording, and the sales agent didn't indicate that it was a “bundled” service; that DISH and AT&T were individual companies. He didn't explain why the agent was touting AT&T as being a partner. Because the agent did nothing wrong, the contract stood “as is”. And I would have to pay the penalty fees if I were to break it. There was no discussion of my being misled, or that it had been agreed to under false pretenses.

I have always retained good credit. I pay what I owe. And when there is a difference of opinion, I am willing to try to find a solution (which I tried to do). But when I feel I have been scammed, and talk doesn't work, I see no alternative but to dispute the issue loudly and long. What occurred, should be interpreted as “bait and switch” tactics, which is illegal.
