GAITHERSBURG, MARYLAND -- I shipped a projector from our office in MD to our office in NJ and insured it. It never arrived. I contact FedEx who said they would search for the package but of course it was never found. It made it as far as their warehouse in NJ. I put in a claim and stated that it was insured (although they can see that for themselves) and they denied the claim. The projector was only a few months old and cost us over $1800.00 and now we have nothing.
To add fuel to the fire, I just got an invoice charging me for shipping the package and the invoice shows no delivery date! I've contacted FedEx since receiving the letter that states that they can't honor the claim but of course I get nothing but a voicemail and no returns calls.
MCLEAN, VIRGINIA -- This complaint is for FedEx Ground which is separate (and far inferior as you will see) operation than FedEx Express. Basically in the heart of all my problems with them is how they're organized or rather disorganized. Their drivers are contractors who are independent enough so as make their service sloppy and undependable. Furthermore their customer service simply sucks.
They have been delivering package to me for nine days now and counting and missed several pickup attempts with no explanation or refund given. Also the same people have missed two pick-ups in a row - just did not show up with no explanation given. Be wary of these people - specifically their Alexandria VA location managers **.
Here's is my prediction on the fate of FedEx ground - it will die off which is what will happen if they keep it up. They wasted my time - a lot of it. In the future, I won't ever do business with them. Also, I definitely will not recommend FedEx to others.
FedEx has been carrying around 2 packages for 4 days. I called to speak with a customer representative and was flat-out lied to not once but three times. I was told that ground would deliver on Sunday and on Monday (even though Monday was President's Day) "because they are so behind in deliveries". On Tuesday called twice. Was told at 6:30 P.M. that they were making deliveries till 9:00 P.M. and I called at 8:50 P.M. Was told that they would deliver my 2 packages as late as 9:30 P.M. I keep getting "Delivery Exempt" & "Delivery was attempted".
I live on a main road and there was no snow or ice to keep this driver from delivering. The driver made a delivery to the local school and I only live 1 1/2 mile from the school on the same road. I know I live in a rural area but I should get the same service as a person who lives in a town. I always get better service from UPS. From now on I will request and pay more for UPS when I know the company will be using FedEx.
PITTSTON, PENNSYLVANIA -- I was an independent contractor for FedEx ground. I have recently sold the route. Reason for post is I saw firsthand. How FEDEX management's only concern is to get the packages out of the building. What I mean is as soon as the packages are on the outbound trucks they become the sole responsibility of that contractor. That means your "package" is being handled by a driver who is working for a contractor making $75-$100 a day working in excess of 10 hrs a day.
Here is an example of the service you might receive. Sanofi - Pasteur is a shipper who uses FedEx ground (Pittston PA Armstrong rd.) a "driver" did not want to return to the terminal in Pittston PA with packages that he did not deliver. For fear of being reprimanded by management. So this driver scanned all of the packages as delivered, placed them in a bag, and hid them outside behind a rock near the terminal. These packages were later found and it was brought to the attention of management. Oddly this driver is still employed with FEDEX. They preach "integrity" is there #1 priority. Really?
NAPLES, FLORIDA -- It appears that FedEx Ground uses independent agents that are licensed to use the FedEx name, but have no affiliation with FedEx Air. I agreed to use their Ground Service because of the excellent service I have experienced in the past with FedEx Air. Anyone thinking of using their Ground Service FORGET IT! FedEx Air on its worst day is better than Ground Service ever could be. It is almost 14 days and I have not received my shipment and the carrier will not deliver when I am home. In order to pick up my package I would have to drive 80 miles round trip to their warehouse.
OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA -- I have had so many fouled up deliveries with FedEx. This is just the most recent typical disaster. Wednesday-- attempted delivery, nobody home, but FedEx driver did not leave a tag or message. Thursday-- 2nd attempt, nobody home, left no tag, but phone message saying sorry I ran out of tags but call the 800 number for more information about your package
Friday-- I call FedEx 800 number and ask package to be left on porch if nobody home. Sure, they say, no problem. By 6:30 pm package has not arrived so I call 800 number again and they say they attempted delivery in the afternoon but nobody home. They don't know why package was not left on porch as requested, and sorry, they can't do anything about it. I insist the package be delivered tonight. When it arrives after 9 pm I find out about the first Wednesday attempt, and that the package was going to be sent back, is marked "Last Attempt."
Why bother with FedEx? Why pay the extra money? Seems like USPS is more reliable. Every time I get a package sent through them I have to make a bunch of phone calls and be really insistent with their customer service just to get my package 3 days late.
PENNSYLVANIA -- Fed Ex Ground service is horrible! The problem is that they contract out the deliveries and don't care that the contractors aren't making the deliveries. I will never ship anything using FedEx Ground. How many days can something be on a truck to be delivered that day? When you call FedEx - they don't care - it'll be there tomorrow they say. It's been 2 days now that my delivery has been scheduled for today - and I'm finally catching on. Never will I order something from the internet, if they use FedEx Ground. I will tell everyone I know to never use FedEx.
Don't ever use FedEx ground for any service. They are unreliable and they have the meanest customer service representatives. Although I told the customer service several times that the delivery address is business, they allegedly tried to deliver the package at 9:30 P.M. twice. In fact, the other day I received a phone call from a woman named ** from FedEx and she told me that I will receive the package before 5 P.M. Guess what, the driver never showed up. I waited for the package for 7 seven days. Finally I gave up. Don't ever use FedEx ground.
