Rooms To Go JUNK Furniture

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS -- I bought a queen sleeper sofa in Oct. 2010. It took 9 days to have it delivered, then when it came the head part wouldn't lay down and it was like a hospital bed. The driver couldn't fix it and I needed my company coming that day to use it. Called Rooms To Go and they will deliver a new one in a week that works right. Get new sofa, it's not any better but they will send a technician in TWO weeks.

He comes out and finds even more wrong with the sofa and I need a repair man to fix it. What??? I need Rooms To Go to come out a fourth time?? Called a couple of days later when Rooms To Go hadn't called to set up a repair man appt. Oh, it will take about five days to get entered in the system. I'm still waiting to hear from them. The sofa I bought is a piece of junk and for what I paid I've been scammed. Rooms To Go has a no return policy so they never have to worry about actually getting it right. Can't believe Cindy Crawford would want to be associated with flimsy furniture and a No Customer Service store. BUYER BEWARE. Rooms To Go furniture is junk!!!

Poor Quality-Zero Accountability
By -

In 2005 I purchased several pieces of furniture from Rooms to Go, among them, a three-piece "leather" sofa set that was covered by a one-year warranty. Just 5 years later, the leather, which I had treated by a special protectant applied by Rooms to Go, is peeling off in sheets. I have taken care of the furniture by guarding it against direct sunlight, temperature extremes, and excessive/deficient moisture levels.

Unfortunately, emails and calls to customer service render no redress of the substandard quality of their products, and the furniture is virtually unusable as the material peeling from the furniture sticks to anyone or anything that comes into contact with it. Please file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau to bring the farcical West Florida RTG rating from its current "A+" to an "F".

BROOKSHIRE, TEXAS -- On May 6, 2010, I purchased a bedroom set for my son's birthday. When we went to pick up the bedroom set we were second in line to have our furniture given to us and the reason I say given to us was because we had to literally put the furniture in our trailer ourselves.

The first couple that was there got there furniture loaded up in their truck by people that worked there. But when it was our turn we had to load the furniture ourselves. Talked to the manager and asked if buying from the store or buying from clearance had anything to do with it. He said it did. So if you buy from clearance like we did be prepared to load the furniture yourself. The bedroom set we bought was 732.00 dollars. I don't know to other people but to me 732.00 is 732.00. Money nowadays doesn't come easy. We work hard for our money.

Never Buy From Rooms To Go Again!

BRENTWOOD, TENNESSEE -- I have been home since 8 am to receive my shelving unit. The first one was damaged. They made me (7 month pregnant) return the damaged shelves to the store. After several complaints and phone calls with the manager, he finally agreed to deliver the new ones at no charge. However, it took another month and a half to receive them. It is now 3:30 P.M. and I just received the delivery. My window was 8 am - noon. I took off 1/2 day, and they called me at noon to tell me the window had changed from 10-2 P.M. Again at 2 P.M. I called, and they told me 2:30. Then by 3 P.M.

They told me they had truck problems, but when I inquired about the issue to the driver, he told me they added several other stops that he was not aware of until this morning, pushing all deliveries way over the time allotted. It is totally unacceptable. This company should not be able to do business. They have no customer service and the products are below quality, if they aren't damaged initially. I am so upset right now, and I will NEVER EVER buy from Rooms To Go again. Please don't either!!!

This will be my 5th delivery from this store and it has been damaged or not the right items every time. I have been dealing with them since June 2009 and I still do not have all the furniture. They are consistently late with deliveries and the last time I had to drive down the road at midnight and pick up my furniture myself on the back of my husband's truck!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, THEY DO NOT DELIVER THE FURNITURE ON TIME, and when they finally do deliver it is always damaged!!! Don't even go in the store!!!

My son is always getting his feet stuck in this bed.

I also got problem because the bed was broke two weeks after I brought home and I have guarantee and they did not fix my bed. The bed still broke and my son keep getting his leg stuck between the baseballs bat. I do not have money to keep buying bed every 3 to 4 months. I also bought the princess bed for my baby girl and this broke too. I have guarantee and they did not want to fix the bed. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE.

Citi Financial And rooms to go have teamed up to extort the consumer!!!

OCALA, FL, FLORIDA -- I purchased a mattress from rooms to go in May of 2008. When it arrived it smelled like Rat poo and mildew. Well that was just the beginning. Rooms to Go did replace the mattress, and we thought everything was fine. While in the store I was approached by a salesman who said "You know you don't have to pay for that now. We have special Zero money down and no interest rate for 1yr, then 5-7%" or something like that.

At the time that sounded great to me. They failed to tell me anything about a 29.99% interest rate when the term was up. I bought two pieces of furniture each with a 29.99% interest rate, and now am paying them some outrageous monthly note, with 29.99% interest on each piece. I believe this borders on extortion, and am going to Sue. Will anyone join me in a class action suit? Please E-mail Me at **. Signed: Down with CitiFinancial.

Complaint About Furniture

GULFPORT, MISSISSIPPI -- Within the last year and a half I purchased living room furniture from Rooms To Go which was faulty, cheaply constructed, and very poorly made. Shortly after the purchase the sofa and recliner broke. They replaced the furniture with the same set and the sofa broke half into. At that time I asked if I could choose another type of living room furniture and they told me "no".

I called and complained furiously after the second set broke and they decided to allow me to go to another store, out of state and select another one. They would not consider a refund. I now have a leather sectional and recliner which was made for someone other than the usual person. The headrest make your head hurt and the recliners were made for aliens with short legs.

DULUTH, GEORGIA -- We purchased these beautiful bunk beds for our six-year-old son's birthday the end of May, 2009. Once the delivery persons left, I noticed the bottom front rail on the chest of drawers was broken (done during installation, and they didn't say anything). Rooms to Go replaced that.

It is now the beginning of August, 2009. A few nights ago, I sat down on the lower, full-size bed and heard a horrible crack. We discovered that the side rail had completely split where it attaches to the footboard. It's important to note that our son had been schooled on what would happen if he ever jumped on his bed - 1) his head would end up in the ceiling fan and 2) the bed would be taken away. You can hear, very clearly, what goes on his room from most parts of the house. I can guarantee he never jumped on his bed hard enough to cause this type of damage.

Rooms to Go came out, found no manufacturer's defect, and said there wasn't anything else they could do. I will NEVER buy another piece of furniture from Rooms to Go (and I can only imagine what problems we'll have in the next six months if this is what we've found in the first 2 1/2).

Poor customer service
By -

Read poor reviews of this company but unwisely shopped there anyway. Bought sofa and chair, and chair when delivered had a manufacturer defect on chair leg. Received very poor response from the store. Was told I had to talk to saleslady who told me she could not do anything about it. Called back and asked for the sales manager who turned out to be the same person as the sales clerk. Again told there was nothing she could do. "Policy", she told me. Called twice for the manager--who conveniently was not in. I began to feel like I had been caught in a small town speed trap where the cop and the judge were one and the same.

When I tried to read the terms of service, the terms are written in such small type and so dim that they are difficult to read even with a magnifying glass. A call to the national number informed me that there was no national customer service and I had to deal with the local store. Finally, after my numerous complaints and threats to post complaints, the saleslady called me back to say the manager (who I had just been told again was not in) and offered an even exchange. So very frustrating and evident that this store doesn't value customer satisfaction or loyalty.
