Beware of Using Bill Me Later With Rooms To Go
By -

RIVERVIEW, FLORIDA -- My wife and I have had great credit with Rooms To Go over the past 3 years. Always buy things from them. Pay them off. Never had any real issues. Then in May we needed more furniture. So I clicked everything online and they made us fill out the Bill Me Later form. I have a 7,500 credit with Rooms To Go. Didn't really understand why I needed to fill out another credit application.

I got the first bill and I am being charged 19.99% interest rate. So far I've told them both to come get their friggin furniture and I will get it somewhere else. This is a huge scam online. Don't use them anymore. I will put the furniture beside the road and let this ruin my credit. I really don't care anymore!!

Very Disappointed

PINELLAS PARK, FLORIDA -- 2 years ago I purchased The Kiara dining room set from Rooms to Go. I did not purchase a warranty on the set because I had purchased furniture from Rooms to Go prior to this purchase and never had any problems out of the furniture. Shortly after I purchased the dining room set I started to noticing pieces of wood chipping off the chairs. I had to keep adjusting the screws/bolts in the table and chairs as they become easily loosened with just sitting down in the chairs and having dinner at the table.

It's my fault that I didn't purchase the warranty, but I didn't think I'd never buy a dining room set that has such poor quality. The quality of rooms to go furniture is not outstanding, if I wanted to buy cheap furniture that is going to fall apart I could have gone to a variety of places and spent a lot less money. Ending complaint with HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED.

Please Look Elsewhere

SUNRISE, FLORIDA -- I recently made a purchase through Rooms to Go. It was a lovely piece for dining room furniture. My husband and I looked every place and this was the place that we saw to be the best. We made the purchase and had the furniture delivered. The delivery men left before I had a chance to inspect the furniture. I was almost too excited to finally have some dining room set. But as it turns out there were a TON of scratches on the furniture. Not only on the chairs on the tables, on the China cabinet, but everywhere.

I had a service technician come to my home, me taking off of work, three times. They replaced the China cabinet twice. What kind of furniture are they producing in China?? I had to argue on the phone with a customer service agent for twenty minutes to get the China cabinet replaced. So I would not recommend that anyone makes a purchase with Rooms to Go. At All! Do not purchase, look elsewhere!!!

Unreal Delivery Issues

SPRING, TEXAS -- They give you a window as to when they will show up, for me it was 10 to 4. So I take off work, no problem, just the cost of having the furniture delivered. Then 4 o'clock rolls around and still no furniture. I call them at 5 and they tell me there are 2 more ahead of me. About an 11:30 I decide to bring my old bed back inside so I can go to sleep. Every piece of furniture is in the garage because they asked me to have that done for them. Bed is made now, I'm crawling just before midnight when they call to tell me they are on their way. I tell them it is too late, so they bump my delivery back a week to Super Bowl Sunday.

This time they are there right on time at 10. The head delivery guy starts getting snippy with me because the room isn't cleared yet. No furniture, just clothes and bedding. I tell him we wouldn't have this problem if they would have delivered the furniture last week. Then he tells me it was my fault for not accepting delivery last week. Then he crosses his arms and with a huge smirk on his face asked me if I wanted it delivered still. Installed and delivered in less than 25 minutes, which tells me that customer service was lying to me the week before. Never an apology from anyone.

Furniture Delivery

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA -- This is to give everyone a warning about ROOMS TO GO. I purchased furniture on 10/12/08 with a guaranteed delivery date 10/23/08. I received 6 chairs and no dining room table due to backorders and would be delivered 11/06/2008. On 11/06/08 missing a day's work I received a call from the driver that the table was damage and have to be rescheduled.

Myself I wanted to cancel the whole order but my wife really liked the table so we rescheduled for 11/22/08. So here it is now 11/22/08 and we received a call that they have to reschedule again after they called 11/21/08 confirming an 11/22/08 delivery. This table must be coming from around the world. But what really makes me mad is the furniture was paid cash in full.

Horrible Experience With Mattress Warranty!!!
By -

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I bought a twin size stain proof mattress from Rooms to Go of Independence Blvd in Charlotte. The salesperson (Bill) told me there was a warranty on it and even type it in the receipt. Well now they are saying because it was bought in the store it was an As Is item. WHAT??? Even though the salesperson noted on the receipt New Warranty included for purchase. The sales manager (Sharon) says it cannot be issued since it was taken from the store and not ordered from the warehouse. Horrible customer service experience in my life.

Customer Care hung up on me and stated that nowhere on the receipt it showed Warranty, but when I called and said I had the receipt then it was another excuse, it was taken from the store so the warranty does not apply. Make up your minds! Do not believe what the salesperson tells you even if it is in writing!!!

Sofa Less Than 2 Yrs Old Frame Falling Apart
By -

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA -- I am very discouraged with my service from Rooms to Go. I purchased my living room set in May 2006. I live alone and never use the sleeper unless my grandchildren come to visit which is very rare. My oldest grandson came this past weekend and I noticed when I pulled the bed out that the frame was sitting on the floor. Upon further inspection, I found the wooden frame of the sofa was broken causing the sleeper to tilt backwards when in the lying position.

I called Rooms to Go customer service and the store directly to see if anything could be done about this problem. But due to the warranty expiring, I got nowhere. Why would a sofa that you very seldom use, the frame brake? This makes no since at all and on top of that, I made my last payment January 1, 2008. Go figure this one. I can't believe that a sofa less than 2 yrs old is already falling apart. Is anyone else having this problem? I would not recommend Rooms to Go to anyone.

Customer Service/Delivery

AUSTIN, TEXAS -- Rooms To Go! Ohhh where should I begin. The service is horrible. Rooms to Go was the worst furniture experience I have ever had. The customer service is a nightmare and the delivery is the worst period. The left stains on my carpet. A chunk of wood out of my $3000 front door. My furniture was destroyed. Customer service hung up on me 9 times (in a row). I'm not even going to finish writing this complaint considering how much time Rooms to Go has wasted of mine. PLEASE do not buy furniture from them. Trust me you will thank me later. Spend $90 bucks more somewhere else for a great experience. Rooms to go is horrible. They lie and cheat their customers. I will never step foot in one of their stores again.

Bleeding Dye on Crimson Sofas
By -

SAINT PETERSBURG, FLORIDA -- I recently purchased a crimson sofa and chair from Rooms To Go. My son left some drool on the sofa and I used a clean white rag slightly dampened with water to clean it. I looked down to find the rag crimson. The field tech who came out to investigate informed me it was because I had used water on the microfiber. The store rep had actually instructed me to use water to clean it. Just to be safe, I picked up some of the solvent based cleaner that Rooms To Go offers for that purpose. Again, the white rag turned crimson after cleaning.

The customer service rep I spoke with later informed me that they had received many complaints of this nature about this very couch and in fact they had discontinued the line for a while because of those complaints. They decided to carry the line once again after the manufacturer informed them it had been corrected. Again the complaints of bleeding dye came rolling in. Despite this, they continued to sell this couch and to this day, the couch remains on their showroom floor for sale.

Rooms to go sucks!!!!
By -

I have ordered furniture on 4 separate occasions and every time I had to go through weeks and weeks of customer service call and the runaround. Recently, I bought bunk beds for my three year old twins. When the delivery man came he brought everything into my kids room in boxes and opened a package of parts and said he was missing hardware and he couldn't put the beds together.

After he left I called customer service and they told me they would have the parts shipped to my house two days later and after I received the parts I could call and set up another time for them to come out and put the beds together. So my kids had to sleep on mattresses on the floor for two days and we had to cancel a family trip to deal with this situation. They were not helpful and I had to do all the work to ensure that I got the parts and set up a time to get them back out. I will never buy from them again!!!
