I have had my phone with Sprint for almost 2 years. There was supposed to be a program to help keep people with Sprint since people are leaving Sprint, so the guy I spoke with told me he was going to set me up a payment arrangement and he really did sound like he worked there because he knew everything. I didn't give him any info that would allow him authority to change my account.

I thought my bill was due and so since at the time I didn't have a ride to pay. When I woke up one day it wasn't working. I called Sprint and found out that this man had called them pretending to be my husband and got a phone sent to him in a whole different state than me and changed all my info.

I believe he actually had my service switched for that 1/2 of a day because I can't check my voicemail and yet Sprint still haven't fixed this because I changed all my passwords and pins and that same damn day another phone was sent so I call Sprint and changed it all yet again and guess what? Hmm dumb people allowed another phone to be sent and I called them again and ask how the hell they allow a phone to be sent to the same damn person/address and they say it takes 7 days to investigate but that doesn't excuse them allowing this guy total access to my account.

They failed to protect my identity and I am looking for a lawyer because I believe I should be able to sue them for this.

Check Your IP Often Folks

U.S.A -- Hi folks as some of use now mobile phones are like walkie talkies or cb radios. Allocated services use "base stations" to communicate just like cb's do. Examples of personal base stations are cordless phone chargers 3 to 4 mile handheld w/talkies and your local police station services concrete companies etc. I guess what I'm saying here is don't think that hi tech expensive phone is secure when things like text to talk apps and Kkype are out there to transmit to the world your personal affairs and private conversations. Are government didn't create this handy little device for our convenience. Why do you think everyone can get a free one through them. Just a word to the wise. Not saying cell phones are not great devices. Just don't think everything is private as you think they are. I kind of found out the hard way as I live near a truck stop and beware of those humming transformers as they are UHF broadband. Have a nice day.

Paying on something not active

I switched my cell phone numbers from Sprint over 8 months ago. The next month I received yet another bill stating that one of the numbers did not switch over and it was accompanied by a bill. I paid that bill and sent in a letter requesting that number get turned off and my account be closed. Two months later I received yet another bill and I informed Sprint that I was not going to pay on it. I sent in a letter explaining the situation and then I received a letter back indicating that Sprint was sorry for the confusion. Next month later I received another bill. So thus far, I have paid on a phone number that is not being used at all 4 times. Now I am getting letters from collection agencies. Now this is nothing but wrong.

Bait and Switch

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON -- Here is a note I recently sent to Sprint PCS regarding a phone change during our renewal period: We upgraded a phone today regularly priced at 329.99. The instant rebate was $180. There is a $50 Mail in rebate. I inquired as to where the $150 renewal allowance was, and was informed it was part of the $180 "instant credit" that almost ANYONE can get. The $150 "Renewal Allowance" is not an "Instant Credit". If it were, you'd call it the same thing. OR, you'd be attempting to deceive your customers with these kind of "gray" marketing tactics.

We are out of pocket $99 for a phone that "should" have been free with our "Renewal Allowance", based on YOUR marketing language. I won't be renewing with Sprint in the future and will be inquiring as to how we get out of our current contract. I'll also be reporting this to the BBB and the FCC. I'll also post on my Blog." I'm not certain there is anything that can be done, however, I'm tired of being sucked in to these deceptive ads, and I'm tired of my FAMILY being sucked in, as well.

Never Made The Changes I Requested =(
By -

IRVINE -- I was tired of paying 1000.00 dollars a month for my cell phone. So I contacted customer service and upped my minutes, & to up, or keep text messages to accommodate my usage, plus to make sure my 7pm night calls would still be free (this was given to me by customer service to make up for issues at the time). I also made sure to have the customer service department verify my program changes, and I always wrote down the employee Id#. But I was still burned every single time. After receiving my bill and noticing on several occasions that most of the changes were not made and that my bill was again $1000.00 I became angry.

So I contacted Sprint's customer service who was very rude. They stated that even though I had the customer services employee Id# for whom I had talked to at the time of my program change, and even though the calls were recorded at the time of my program change, they could not deduct the overage that was supposed to be taken care of with my new plan.

This was very frustrating!! This happened to me more times than I can stomach. From that time forward every time I had to contact customer service I had immediate anxiety. Now whenever I hear Sprint's name I want to scream. I paid so much money to Sprint for their mistakes. Sprint took advantage of me! I feel they owe me money!

ELIZABETH, LOUISIANA -- Sprint along with other major U.S. corporations has forgotten what service means, and unfortunately that is the industry they are in "service." Customers sign contracts and abide by them but yet they do not hold their end of the agreement. After purchasing their products and later moving to an area where 'Sprint' did not have coverage, Sprint refused to allow me to get out of contract even though they did not meet their obligation.

Of course trying to contact them was a nightmare. They would keep you on hold for over ten minutes in the meantime charging you for the minutes since you're dialing from one of their phones. When someone would finally answer, they were poorly trained, had no real answers and were rude. The only recourse would be an attorney which would cost more than the $200.00 to get out of the contract or simply not pay which they quickly report to a credit agency. It is no surprise to me that the company's financials are dismal and their management turns over as much as it does. I will never do business with them again.

Reception is curiously getting worse and worse...
By -

When I bought my Treo in late 2005, it was top of the line then, and the plan I bought was current (meaning Sprint thought it gave them enough spending money). My cell reception virtually anywhere was great. As time has gone by, I have noticed a decline in reception. I am at more than 2 years into the contract, and was browsing recently to see if I could get a new Treo. Well, the current plans are at least double what I am paying now, for less than what I receive.

So, of course, I am staying with my current Treo (the newer versions have gotten poor reviews anyway). But, my cell phone reception now is almost at zero anywhere. I can hear others, but virtually no one can hear me anywhere. I suspect Sprint is trying to force me into either leaving because they can't rob me; or into buying a new phone with a new plan (that should include gold nuggets, based on the prices!). I am not sure this is technically possible, but if it is, I'll bet that's what they're doing.

Oh, also, btw (tangent): do you all remember when text messaging was free, when voice dialing was free, and when mp3 players with phones were actually really good players! None of that is true now. If companies could find a way to charge us for our own feces, they would do it! In fact, my feces resemble a lot of Sprint products!

Why Can't Sprint Handle Family Plans?
By -

EL PASO, TEXAS -- I went ahead and got Sprint in July of 2007. When I got the plan it was just me and I never had any billing problems or service problems. When my husband got home in December I went and added him to my plan. My first bill after adding him was almost $300. When I added him I was given a printout of what my bill would be. It was only supposed to be $135 a month give or take.

I called Sprint and found out I was being charged twice for unlimited texting and my internet package. I was reimbursed but I'm still getting charged double for pretty much everything and they won't fix it. Not to mention it took almost 6 months for me to start receiving my military discount. I know I'm not the only one with this problem though, a friend of mine had Sprint and she had the same problems as me and then some. I just don't understand why Sprint has such a hard time with family plans.

Unwarranted cancellation fees
By -

DANVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- I have a four phone family plan with Sprint. I needed to move two lines to another service and when I did that I was billed $400 in "early cancellation fees". According to them I extended all four phone contracts for two years when in January of 06 (two years ago) I changed my plan to allow evening and weekend minutes to begin at 6 PM instead of 7 PM. According to them by making that change I extended the contract on all four phones for two years.

That was never explained and the result is this charge, which I will be challenging in small claims court. This is after 2 hours today on the phone, mostly on hold, in an effort to resolve the dispute. There is no logical or defensible reason to incur this type of charge. Watch out when you're dealing with Sprint because they are inflexible and unreasonable in their dispute resolution system.

Over Charging and Not Fixing the Problem
By -

BREESE, ILLINOIS -- I had a two year service turned on through Sprint PCS on 3/07. Since then I received maybe 1 accurate bill and the rest was way wrong. For instance my wife and I received a bill for 135.00. When we have a 69.99 Plan they said we had 114 text, one ringtone download, 4 411 calls, and one game download. I had the web shut off my phones the first month of the service.

We had only 5 text messages between the two phones in a month, no downloads, we called and complained about 7 times in two days. I spent around 4 hours yesterday on the phone and got nowhere with them. They are fraudulently overcharging. What can be done about this? Maybe Illinois General Attorney's office? Oh and I forgot to mention that Sprint reps were supposed to send us a text record via e-mail and never did. This was promised twice.
