Do not trust United Healthcare. They do not care if we suffer.

OMAHA, NEBRASKA -- Do not trust this United Healthcare. They do not care if we suffer. They do not care if we are in pain. They only care if you pay them.

I get migraines sadly a lot. The Rizatriptan pills helps so much that I don't loose work or suffer. Up until this year I could only get 12 pills a month. I could cope with that. But now I can only get 4. Yeah just 4. So suffer very much and be in pain? They have made it very clear that they could care less,.... And oh I have to pay them to do this to me.

They said to contact my doctor to get him to give me more. That makes no sense at all. !2 pills a month is not many, not many at all. So why force the doctor to add more to the 4 limit. They probably will only allow him to give me 5 pills but never 12.

Plus I strongly strongly suspect that the 4 or 5 pills will cost what the 12 before did, about 150.

Do not trust them, they could care less about us. They really only care about us paying them to be mean to us.

Wish there were negative stars available. If my migraines take over my life. I may decide that it's time for pain to end. Thanks United Hate Care ............. United HeathCare. You've made life so bad and you probably laugh all the time.

Was just trying to check their rates

MARYLAND -- All I wanted was a quote to compare rates. They are the biggest waste of time.. Absolutely worthless company in my opinion. I wasted probably an hour waiting to speak to one of their retards and dealing with their faltering phone system. The phone transfer system doesn't work.. Constantly saying they are having phone service issues. I call the number direct that someone provided.. I gave the idiot all my personal information including my address, state, etc.. Then he says he will now transfer me. So an agent picks up to give me a quote.. Then he says United no longer provides individual insurance in the state of Maryland.. But they do provide group plans.. How weird. So he transfers me to group. And you hold and hold until disconnected! LOL. A worthless company indeed. Why would anyone put their health in their hands? And I hear their rates are about the same as Blue Shield.. But trying to confirm it just cost me an hour of my time playing around on the phone..

Cancelled Policy Unjustly

N FT MYERS, FLORIDA -- I was forced to sign up for Obama Care or face a penalty, so I did in February 2014. I paid my first payment to Insurance agent the day of signing up. The next two months, which were March and April 2014, I paid a for both months, which was $86.00, $43.00 per month. I got confirmation number and never thought about it again. Received my next nil, 0 ZERO Balance and continued the rest of the year paying the 43.00 per month with a monthly invoice that stated ZERO 0 Balance. Receive December 2014 invoice again with ZERO balance, I pay the $43.00.

After shopping around on marketplace with my agent, I changed my coverage for 2015 to BCBS. I was immediately cancelled by United Healthcare due to March and April's payment not being made. I had confirmation number but the account that I paid it from had not been deducted the premiums. I was NOT notified. My monthly invoice stated ZERO 0 balance.

I now have to pay back every penny to every provider. I am being sued by several. I pay monthly payments just to keep my Primary Dr. as I have been with her over 20 years. I cannot get them to understand or admit that this is not right. Please advise if you have any information that can help me. I have contacted a lawyer and was told that most lawyers won't take a case due to payments. Ridiculous. Thank You.

MIAMI, FLORIDA -- Having worked in the medical field for many decades, I have personally dealt with dozens of health care insurance companies and medical plans. United healthcare is the scum-of-the-earth. Poison!! Literally, dealing with UHC is like dealing with organized crime. We're in South Florida, a location in which UHC has more than 20 different lines of insurance. Physicians' offices are fleeing UHC like rats from a sinking ship. The reason: UHC cheats, steals, and conducts themselves in a disgusting manner. Our office, long ago, quit/disenrolled as contracted "providers" with UHC (Reason: We got tired of all of the dishonest conduct. They were absolutely impossible to "work with"). More recently, UHC acquired a "good plan" that we do participate in. Now, in a few short months, this health plan is awful -- doctors, patients, and anyone else that I've spoken to hates it. Example: The surgical practice than I'm in knows all too well exactly how to submit any/all documentation for surgery preapproval/preauthorization -- we now have dozens of claims, for 100% fully preauthorized surgeries, in which (after the surgery) UHC "denies" the claim and does not pay-the-contracted-rate for the bill, and instead requests "documentation" (i.e. the EXACT SAME documentation that had already been submitted before the surgery, in order to get a preauthorization). It's shocking to me that this type of willful, criminal conduct is tolerated and sanctioned. UHC should not be allowed to conduct business in the State of Florida. Their pattern of abusive conduct is nothing short of willful organized crime. (Note: I certainly would have "rated" UHC as "ZERO Stars" but it was necessary to fill-in at least One Star to submit this completely honest and accurate review).

Absolutely Terrible

PENNSYLVANIA -- Recently the company I work for switched to united healthcare's choice plus plan. It has been a nightmare to say the least. They promised to match the coverage we had through Highmark, but we got scammed. We have employees who are on needed medications and have been for years, fighting for months to have United cover them. Now, as a wheelchair user, I am having an even harder time. First, I need urinary catheters in order to void my bladder. It took 2 and 1/2 months for their team to find a provider in their network for me. During that time, out of necessity, I was forced to get them from my original provider that was not in network. Now I owe them over $600 and United won't pay a dime. Now, I'm desperately in need of a new manual wheelchair. I mean every part of mine s broke and being held together with duct tape and they don't have a single provider within a 100 mile radius and will not offer any other solutions. They don't even have a provider I can order parts through to make mine last until our company throws the contract out and goes back to Highmark in January. Absolutely sick over the terrible service and BS they put you through. Also, they barley pay what they agree to pay without a dozen phone calls . Got a Dr. bill they were supposed to pay after my $20 dollar deductible. I paid the deductible then was still billed an additional $86. The total bill was only $136. So they paid what? $30. It would be cheaper to cancel and pay my providers directly out of pocket since my insurance plan is over $1,000.00 a month.

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- Last year 2016 they covered my meds. Without notice for 2017 they denied all of it. Then they told me to have Dr's office send them more info on why I needed it. Dr's office did this and after 14 days they still denied me. I asked UHC what they would cover and my doctor changed it for me. They denied what they told me was approved. Went one more round with them on what they would cover. They also denied that one. W/O my medication I started missing a lot of work days to the point my employer terminated me. I am now unemployed. Stay away from this company!

Denied Treatment - Worst Insurance United Healthcare

I am Health Insured through my company with UnitedHealthCare Since April 1st 2016 till March 31st 2017. I reached maximum out of pocket December2016. After I reached maximum after of pocket, insurance company was liable to pay for my bills. After I reached maximum out of pocket, insurance company started denying treatment back to back. I was diagnosed with sleep Apnea in month of January(my insurance expires in March'17). From doctors stand point I was supposed to start using sleep CPAP machine but insurance company denied to provide me treatment. They told me that I don't meet the criteria. When I asked if I don't meet criteria then what is the treatment, I was told that they don't know, I should check with my health provider. My health provider consistently kept saying that you should use sleep cpap machine. Insurance company asked us to re-submit the results, my health provider did that but they again said that they will not look at the new results. I went back and forth multiple times but they were non- cooperative. They kept killing time so that next year starts and they can save money. I was not treated well, They also denied varicose veins treatment to my wife. Thanks PB

Unbelievably Horrible

WEST BLOOMFIELD, MICHIGAN -- I had a wisdom tooth that suddenly decided it wanted to come out and was poking through my gums. I looked online at UHC's list of dentists that supposedly carry my plan, and after 11 phone calls, only one actually accepted my insurance, within 30 miles! And that office told me I would have to have an initial consultation first, then they had to send paperwork in for approval, and that could take 10-14 days. And it will be another week before they can get me in for a consultation. So UHC finds it acceptable for you to wait at least two weeks in a good amount of pain, so they can approve a procedure that very obviously needs to be done.

I tried to contact UHC for help. I called at 9 am ET and the message stated that if I need to speak with someone, I should call back during business hours. But you can't find business hours anywhere on the website or on the message. And how is 9 am not during business hours? And this is just for the dentist! I cannot imagine trusting my health care to these people. Pray that you don't have any emergency that they have to take 2 weeks to discuss.

I Think This Company Should Get Sued!!

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS -- First when I got approved on May 2016... I needed to get colonoscopy medical supplies... I got them all the way to October 2016! And I would pay a copay. Once November hit they started telling me that they weren't covered in my plan. Mind you I was getting them for May to October. No issues then for November and December. I couldn't get them do. I didn't. Then I needed hearing aids so I went to the ear Dr in November then it started. Dr is wrong. Wrong codes so they ain't covered. It was like that for a month.

Then December 20 insurance company sent a letter was approved. By the time the holidays kicked in the Dr was closed for then a week and another couple of days because of New Year's so I got screwed by this insurance company so I lost out! Cause for 2017 I had to change to a new insurance! It's not fair what these people were 2 months before saying it was out of network when in the beginning you were in network but they were still collecting my premiums! These people are jerks. I wonder how many did they do these to! They should get sued!

UMR Is Horrible

EVANSTON, WYOMING -- I am tired of dealing with the people at UMR. I am now receiving checks without EOBs which is fine. I do this with other insurances. But I have spent over 2 hours trying to download the EOBs. They have no record of the claim. So after all this time I have now spoke to 4 different people.

The first person (English was not their first language) would not listen to anything I had to say. He just kept reading from a script. Then he transferred me to the wrong line after holding for 35 minutes, the operator was unable to help me and transferred me again, where I again held for another 40 minutes.

I was finally able to speak with someone and she also could not pull up any information, by claim, check number, or member number. Apparently it is commonplace for them to send out checks with not entering them in the system. I deal with insurance companies all day, everyday, and this is one of the worst companies I have has to deal with. They are right up there with CNIC and IBEW, and EMI. I am tired of insurance companies outsourcing all of their jobs to other countries and having to fight to speak with someone that can understand and listen to what I have to say.
