Cannot Cancel Your Subscription

Tried to cancel the service on 1/14/09 - it didn't take. Tried again to cancel on 2/9 once they had charged my card again for a full year. It didn't take again. Finally, they canceled the account on 3/8 BUT charged me for Jan-Mar. Ripoff. Don't do business with XM.

The Saga Continues... Horrible Service

It has taken 16 days to get a reply for a new RMA# -- enabling me to return my radio for a credit refund. Everything on the RMA is wrong. XM states "only the items listed on the RMA will be accepted"!! THEY HAVE THE WRONG RADIO NUMBER LISTED. XM states "you have 30 days from RMA issue date" which is listed as 01/15/2009. GOSH! That expired 30 days ago. It's March 10th today. How can a person do business with these people??

BEDFORD, TEXAS -- I paid 1 year ahead. Then they billed me again with a higher rate in January which is against the merger law and cut the radio off. I did not want the service and they billed me for $24.00. XM WOULD NOT LET ME TALK TO THE MANAGER and I spent hours on the phone. I went ahead and sent the check to lose them. They had sent me to a collections agency for $24.00. XM corporate sucks and I will never use their service again. Service? Ain't none from XM.

Trouble From The First

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA -- I had a long hold time to activate the radio (20 min) and then found they charged me 34.95 $ for the first month. I did not give them a credit card only a gift card, but they are still charging me. I tried to get a good rate for the year but they will not honor it. Tried to stop it and was cut off 3X on hold on the phone. This is a terrible business.

XM Continues to Charge for Services After They Are Canceled

XM Radio continued to bill me for 2 years after I canceled service on a radio and transferred that service to a new radio. (They listed it as a transfer yet billed me for BOTH radios!) They agreed on the phone to refund the $187.65 in false charges but have since changed their mind and refuse to pay up. I intend to cancel all of my subscriptions with XM Radio and complain to a customer service agency.

We have been customers of XM since 2006. It has a good variety of stations, but it would always go out under bridges. We called them to cancel our service, and it took 1 hour. They hung up on us and disconnected the wrong radio. They said that the call was dropped, but many people also have encountered that happening leading us to believe they hung up on us. It is a NIGHTMARE.

When you pay a subscription for commercial free and talk free broadcasts on XM, it is very annoying to have to listen to and be subjected to some foul mouthed DJ. Channel 81 is the worst at this. I like the music but if I wanted to listen to this gibberish... I'd listen to AM. Knock it off XM.

Buyer Beware: Customers Not Allowed to Cancel

MONTE SERENO, CALIFORNIA -- Fact: Numerous customers have encountered difficulty in cancelling their service (subscription). This is not about which service is better XM or Sirius. This is a warning to anyone considering XM radio: They will treat you well when you sign up. However, if you attempt to cancel, they will hang up on you as we've experienced. XM will also continue to bill you even though you cancelled service. Buyer beware: Do some research and you'll see it's a common issue.

LIVONIA, MICHIGAN -- I have often found that activating a radio takes several tries and a lot of time on hold. The representatives are very polite and seem to want to help but for some reason it is very frustrating. I imagine they are really busy and with the merger it will probably only get worse, possibly to the point of driving away customers.

Customer Service Hold Time Is Outrageous!

I have had to contact XM a couple of times regarding billing and in both instances the hold times were ridiculous. Currently I am on hold and have been on hold for over an hour. They billed me after my service has already been prepaid and the funds have been taken from my account. Naturally, I have to speak to a representative in order to remedy this situation and I have been on hold for almost an hour and a half and counting. Thank God for speakerphone.
