Thumbs Down, Don't Pay Anymore for Radio!!
By -

The worst and I am talking about the worst customer service ever! I asked if they could cancel one, we have two, of the Radios as we never ever used it and don't even have it any longer, they told me I had to call exactly on the day it was going to renew or I would be charged $100.00 cancellation fee. Or here is the kicker, let it renew, be charged the money, call back after it was charged on my credit card and only get part of the money back. These people are greedy stupid fools and shouldn't be in business. Please I am starting a campaign, disconnect your radio when it comes up for renewal!!

Fraudulent Billing Practices
By -

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- Like other posters, I purchased a new car with free XM for a period. I subscribed for one year when the free period ended. At the end of the year, I received to renewal mailings. We had decided to cut costs and didn't plan to renew. A third mailing indicted we needed to call XM "to avoid further charges." We called and cancelled. We were offered discounts to renew but rejected. It seemed all was fine. But then we receive a bill for about $20. A lengthy call to customer service indicated that the fine print on my contract was that I was a subscriber until I called and cancelled.

Now, I have a lot of purchase agreements, many are "evergreen", but I know they are, and they don't send me renewal mailings. I understand that. But when XM sends the renewals, and I opt not to respond, there is a clear understanding to me, I have not agreed to service beyond my prior year subscription. XM customer service treated me like an idiot and refused to waive the fee. Unlike most smart and customer focused companies, it seems they couldn't care less about my lifetime value as a customer.

I likely would have subscribed again in the future, had they treated me fairly and honestly. But, this billing practice is very misleading. And their customer service stance has me writing this rant. I will write more and share my thoughts on XM at every opportunity. Not fair XM!

I hate XM Radio Customer Service

OMAHA, NEBRASKA -- I have spent hours beyond hours dealing with this worthless, evil company. FYI to all of you wondering if you should sign up- please don't. They don't care one little bit about helping anyone. They gladly take your money and then send you the wrong items, turn off your service, and then won't answer the phone when you call to fix the problem.

I have spent over 3 hours just today alone trying to get a hold of someone to help me and guess what? Nothing. Can you imagine spending over 3 hours of your life dealing with incompetent people who don't care whatsoever about helping you? They are a hideous company and they need to be put out of business. THEY CARE ABOUT TAKING YOUR MONEY AND THAT'S IT!

Unbelievably Bad Customer Service
By -

LARGO, FLORIDA -- My husband and I have had XM radios for over a year now and had few problems, apart from having to refresh our signals now and again. Last week we both had a "no signal" message, and could not get in to the website to refresh - email not recognized. I called XM Radio and first had to deal with the computer voice that kept hearing a D when I said a B, for my radio ID. Finally I get a live person - India I think. This customer service rep listened to nothing I said and we went through all this useless script of making sure antennas were plugged in, changing their positions, etc. Still no signal.

Then I'm told I have to sign in to a different website to refresh the signals using all caps??? Go figure. I do manage to now sign in to original site - without caps and refresh signals. My radio now works intermittently in my office before fading to "no signal". My husband's, which is on a smaller antenna picks up no signal. It has worked for a year on this antenna in this position.

We are now four painful calls later, first battling the computer voice and then foreign customer service reps who have NO clue and stick to a script no matter what one says. Now I am being told to contact Delphi since the radios must be malfunctioning. It does not take a rocket scientist to determine the problem is their signal strength. I am astounded at how this company is run - or not run.

XM Radio Customer Service in the Philippines IS HORRIBLE!!!
By -

XM RADIO hires BRAIN-LESS workers ABROAD who constantly make mistakes and throw you on hold or hang-up on you... when you become completely irritated with them because they do NOT know what they are doing. HOWEVER, you must talk to them IF you want XM Service (which is great). I have had to call customer service OVER AND OVER AGAIN and hold for long periods of time (close to an hour EVERY TIME) because the customer service reps do NOT know what they are doing. Every single time I call, they say that I owe money when, in fact, I SHOULD have several months credit.

Every customer service representative has a completely different story about what the current status of my account is. It is like a bad joke (only because I don't have time for such nonsense with nitwits)!! COME ON, XM RADIO, don't leave us to have to deal with this inefficient outsourced customer service. It is not fair!!! Please let me talk to someone in the United States who comprehends what I am talking about!!!

Criminal Conduct

I have had XM service for the past 6 years. I currently have subscriptions in two of my cars. A third car I owned had service that expired in October 2010. I sold the car back in August 2010. I received a barrage of calls to pay for two months of service beyond by renewal date of October! They tried to automatically renew my account on that vehicle, but the credit card number had expired. XM is now having credit collectors call to collect $35.00 for two months of service that I never authorized. They are threatening to affect my credit.

If they wanted to renew my subscription, they should have let it expire at the end of the contract and I probably would have called to renew it. I will not be renewing any XM accounts now or ever in the future. Even the greatest product can be ruined by poor customer service. Sorry XM, I am afraid you have "jumped the shark" on this one. Adios.

The Worst Customer Service Ever
By -

I literally cringe every year when it is time to renew my XM service. I have had it for 5 years now with 2 radios and EVERY year get the same treatment. I get a bill in the mail for MORE than I paid the previous year. There is no explanation of what the monthly fee for each radio has gone up too. I then proceed to say a prayer for patience with this foreign person I am about to get on the phone. 5 minutes into the conversation, I am frustrated beyond belief. They read from a script that they can't deviate from. The service representative has as little information as I have. I even tried this year online and it is even worse than talking to a person.

I just WISH that XM would please, please get a better customer service department. I really think after 5 years, they are about to lose me as a customer. And I HATE the idea of going back to regular radio but I just can't stand giving my money to a company who values their customers so little! Especially by outsourcing to other countries and doing away with American jobs for their customer service that is non-existent. Please just be forewarned that it is a BEATING to do business with this company (If I wasn't so addicted to the service, it would be a no brainer to cancel).

XM may have a good product but THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS!!
By -

Use caution when looking to XM radio for your entertainment needs. They have a good product but if you ever have problems with your bill they are completely impossible to work with. They have given me four different invoices in less than 30 days and still have not resolved the problem. On top of that they charged me $2.00 each time they sent me a different bill. I have had to contact customer service more than six times and have spent HOURS on the phone trying to resolve the problem.

Have been told several times that a supervisor would call to discuss my billing issues and have not heard from anyone, other than an electronic "survey" as to how my inquiry was handled. Their "smoke screen" of they are concerned about customer service is just B.S. They may advertise as being the #1 provider out there but with their total incompetents they won't be for long…Good luck.

Canceled Service but Still Billed - Don't Give Them Your Credit Card!
By -

I canceled my service in October 2010 because I could not get my device to broadcast through the FM tuner in my car. Replacement devices from XM only made it worse. I was not billed in November 2010 so I assumed all was well. Then in December 2010 and again in January 2011 I was billed for monthly service. When I called, they had a record of my cancellation but still asked if I wanted to cancel???!! I noted that I had thrown out my XM devices and definitely wanted to cancel. I also asked them to delete any billing or credit card information that they might still have. Don't give this company your credit card number!!!

Bait and Switch Billing
By -

I purchased a new skydock in June. I called XM and was given a special of $16 for 3 months and then I would get billed $16 each month after that. The agent said the system would generate bills but to ignore them because my account was noted for this special. That day my cc was charged. I thought all was fine and dandy. NOT! Apparently they began to debit my cc but never finished. I never noticed this until I received a cancellation threat.

When I contacted XM they said I owed $38 a month. That they don't have my payment. I told them that's impossible. You can't even activate or get service without paying. They said to fax a copy of my statement but after calling my bank they said they can see a debit but it's ghost now. It's gone and they can't get all the details on it. Now the bank charge is gone and I don't have proof of the original price quote and charge.

BEWARE and make sure you print everything and ask for agreement in writing. THIS COMPANY IS SCAMMING PEOPLE. I originally got this because of Howard Stern. I hope he leaves this year and goes somewhere ethical. This is ridiculous!
