Offensive advertising

CANTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- Dunkin Donuts is currently running an advertisement in the Northeast that I find personally offensive. Why must their commercial for their new Italian sandwich portray a "Mafia" thug character? Have we forgotten what is politically correct? Why not a commercial targeting some of the other ethnic stereotypes? Stereotypes are hurtful, unnecessary and VERY offensive.

Dunkin Donuts needs to rethink who they hire to come up with their advertising and remind them that not all Italian-Americans are thugs who want "enemies rubbed out." As of now I, along with many of my Italian-American "amici" are boycotting Dunkin Donuts. We want an apology and this offensive ad to STOP running immediately. Please!! Offending people is no way to boost sales.

What's with all the new KOSHER Dunkin Doughnut locations?
By -

I am so mad, our closest Dunkin Doughnuts has gone KOSHER, why? The breakfast food is now terrible, and if I want to eat kosher, I would go to a Jewish deli. This is a national chain for gosh sake! While I prefer to eat halal meat I sure don't expect my local KFC or McDonald's to go halal. So why have so many of our Dunkin Donuts gone kosher? I have asked several employees at different locations and no one could give me an answer. From now on it's a deli for breakfast for me! Bad Dunkin Donuts, BAD! Sorry, all this is in the NYC area.

Service With an Attitude
By -

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- There is a female manager who works at the Dunkin Donuts shop at 5000 W. Irving Park Road, who has a bad attitude. I have noted her shrieking at customers on several occasions and butting into customer conversations in a truculent manner. She also has a habit of scowling at customers for no apparent reason... You can go into that establishment in a pretty good mood yet walk out scratching your head, wondering what prompted you to go there in the first place. I do not know what they pay their shift managers at this place, but apparently they should up their rate, so as to secure more competent, friendly personnel.

The Most Offensive Service Ever

LINCOLN, NEW HAMPSHIRE -- I visited a Dunkin Donuts in Lincoln, NH. When waiting in line, the staff were yelling profanities about their personal life back and forth to one another. Then when I receive my bagel, it was burnt. When I politely brought this to the staffs' attention, they told me, “It is only burnt on the edges”. I then asked nicely to have one not burnt. She then said, “I can't believe this **” to me. I then asked for my money back. Instead, then she said, “We can't give you your money, HA.” She finally have me an uncooked bagel. I left very offended. I visited on June 12, 2009, around 1:00 in the afternoon.

Selection and Freshness Not as Previous Comments Says
By -

MOUNTAINTOP, PENNSYLVANIA -- I visited the Mountaintop location for a number of years, only out of convenience. After a while it became very evident that, you will not find a selection after 10pm, and if you do find anything, it will not be in the best shape. In the last year, I've decided to avoid the place because getting baked goods for 3rd shifters is OUT!

Another gripe: The main guy who usually works there, and others are always on the phone. This is absolutely outrageous. If it happens once, no big deal, but this location is no typecast. The previous commenter has got to be related to be the owner or someone with a vested interest.

WHITESTOWN, NEW YORK -- On 04/22/09 at approximately 6:10 AM I stopped at both the Dunkin Donuts in Herkimer, NY because I needed to purchase 2 dozen bagels. Both stores already had their morning deliveries and did not have any bagels. I was traveling west to Oriskany, NY to attend a meeting so on the way I stopped at the Dunkin Donuts in Whitestown, NY and they did have bagels.

When I told the service person I wanted to purchase 2 dozen bagels she refused to sell them to me because her truck had not arrived yet for the day and need to keep some bagels on the shelf for other customers. There were approximately 4 dozen bagels available for sale. I then asked the service person if 24 people behind be all wanted to purchase one bagel would you sell them each one and she said "yes"!

I then asked for the manager and explained my needs and she gave me the same answer and refused to sell me 2 dozen bagels. I left the premises and promised that I would share this story with as many people as I could starting with the 24 attendees of the meeting, suggesting we boycott Dunkin Donuts.

Horrible Customer Service

KITTERY, MAINE -- Not only have they continually gotten my order wrong for three days in a row now, today I pulled up to the window and asked for butter and they said "I have to charge you 30 cents." Then the two people inside sat and argued if they actually were supposed to charge for butter or not. Pathetic... I will not be going back. Don't go unless you want to order a croissant and get a bagel - yes this happened the day before. The day before that I ordered a hot chocolate and got a coffee... BEYOND POOR hit up Starbucks or Bagel Caboose, it's right down the street. :) Little more money but you will get way better service.

Changed Their Decaf Formula. It's Weak and Watery and They Pretend That I'm Nuts
By -

PHILADELPHIA METROPOLITAN AREA, PENNSYLVANIA -- Let's start this off by saying that I've been drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee for over 20 years. I know good coffee, and theirs was amongst my favorites. I always drank caffeinated and about 5 years ago switched to decaf. It never tasted any different, and I always enjoyed the coffee. About 3 months ago I started receiving weak and watery decaf at the counter. The first time I was sure it was a bad pot, so I asked for another. When questioned I responded that it was weak and watery. I was answered with 'Well, you wanted decaf, right?"

Yeah, I wanted decaf. Good, strong, bold decaf -the same coffee I'd come to expect from DD. Not this watery crap. Being decaf - as you know if you drink coffee - has NO BEARING on taste if it's brewed the same way. The implication and attitude here toward me was clearly 'You don't know what the F you're talking about." I asked them to taste it, and they told me "I don't drink decaf."

Whatever. So I wrote off that store. Since that time I've tried another FOUR (count them) locations, and ALL have the same weak watery crap being served as coffee. When I looked the manager in the eye this morning and asked point blank - "did DD change the decaf formula" - he said, "I don't think so." Let me translate that -YES! Same response when I asked him to try the decaf -"I don't drink decaf." That's the last time I waste money on DD. I just wish DD would revert back to their original formula - it was amazing.

Inappropriate Uniform and Reaction by Staff
By -

WIND GAP, PENNSYLVANIA -- I was at the Dunkin Donuts in Wind Gap for Breakfast this morning with my 8 yr old daughter. One of the staff was wearing an I love head sticker on his visor. I was SHOCKED!!! And asked my daughter to sit down so she wouldn't see it. I asked to see the manager, and the girl who got him stood directly behind him while I explained the problem. She was then allowed to roll her eyes and argue the appropriateness of the sticker while the manager kind of just was like OK take it off. Evidently it's a skiing term as well.

When I stated that it was obviously meant to mean both things, the girl (the manager had walked away by this point, leaving the girl to argue with me) was like well, yeah. Eventually she walked away only to say loudly how ridiculous it was and not to throw the sticker away. Eventually as the staff continued to stare at us I finally left. My order hadn't been completed and I had to ask for my daughter's hash browns.

Poor Service

#28299, FLORIDA -- This is a new store and every time I have gone there the store is not open. Sign says 5:00 am. I have sat outside anywhere from 5:10 to 5:20. The girl pulls in from 5:00 until 10 after and then proceeds to do what she needs to do while the customers stand outside. When you are let in youre lucky if a third of the Donuts are out.

We don't have time to wait on this store - most of us are on the way to work and can't afford to be late like this girl. If I was late every day I would have been fired a long time ago. When I asked her the store number she said she didn't know and mumbled something else. I think the big boys should pop in ever so often and see how the customers are treated.
