ILLINOIS -- I have only dealt with Kmart pharmacy a few times. 3 to be exact. Each time, I have had bad service. I let it go the first time, second time, It wasn't as bad, and the third time was it! The pharm. assist. is very rude and unprofessional. I thought we had privacy rights. The first time I was there she had yelled to the pharmacist about 4 feet away if my prescription was even available there. As if I was burdening them, and they may not even have that in their store. Because there were no other customers around I let it slide.

Today however, she asked me for my id, and yelled to the pharmacist again "do we have any Adderall xr 20???" very loud and there were other customers passing. I took my prescription from her hand and told her I was going somewhere else. They lost about $200, and I will never, ever fill my prescriptions there again!

I always felt bad for Kmart because Walmart does 4 times the business they do, (at least). The pharmacy staff at Walmart has never asked for my id., and has never made me feel bad about my add meds. Kmart has found a way to offend me each time. The second time I was there I mentioned it wasn't as bad, however the pharmacist whispered in a low voice that he had the medicine in a special place because its a Narcotic. Yeah, I know what the medicine is... duh... I am prescribed it... I am not a street drug user, don't belittle me.

I am usually a very easy going, very fair, often taken advantage of type of person, so please don't take this as just as a complainers rant. I just wanted to share this because I know there are people out there that need prescriptions filled that may be a result of something he or she might be embarrassed or ashamed of. I thought the staff in a pharmacy should be trained to be respectful to all their customers, not just the ones getting more common type prescriptions. I guess I was wrong.

TACOMA, WASHINGTON -- On 5-25-08 at about 01:00 PM I entered Kmart in an attempt to buy a 32-inch television. I found a TV. Because it is hard to judge the size when it is on a shelf I asked the salesperson the size. She said it was a 32 inch. She added it was a clearance item because it was a discontinued "RCA" television. I asked her if the item came with the warranty. She said no. She added it came with a store 30-day warranty. I decided not to buy it even though it was priced very low.

About an hour later I called Kmart and asked for the manager. The manager told me if they could find the paperwork for the TV I would be able to get the warranty. I told the manager if the item was on their shelf the warranty should be included because Kmart is not a secondhand store and I was buying a new item. The manager said he would increase the discount because they could not find the paperwork for the warranty.

When I went back to the store the original salesperson told me the TV was not working properly. When I mentioned this to the manager he said the TV was fine. While waiting for the manager to get a cart for the TV I measured the screen. It was only a 27 inch. I told the manager I was told it was a 32-inch screen. He said he didn't know.

The manager of the store tried talking me into buying the TV. I told him it was not going to happen. I went to Walmart and bought a very nice 32-inch flat screen for a little more than Kmart was trying to sell a discontinued item that a sales clerk said was not working properly. The manager was willing to sell me a TV he knew was not the size I wanted with no warranty and one of his employees telling me the TV was bad.

I have been shopping at Kmart for about 30 years. This experience has turned me to Walmart. I will never shop at Kmart again. I don't like companies that hire employees that are not proficient at their jobs and managers that will attempt to cheat the public to make a buck. I would recommend to anybody looking to buy a big ticket item such as a TV, don't go to Kmart. They can't be trusted.

Refund of core charge
By -

EAST BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY -- On Sunday June 3rd I went to Kmart to purchase a car battery. Since I did not bring my old battery with me I was charge $10 and was told that if I brought the old battery within 7 business days I'd receive the $10 back. Yesterday I went to the store with the old battery to receive the $10 charge back. When I first went to the customer service desk a young girl tried to help me, but she did not know how so she called another young employee who was trying to refund me the price for the whole battery. I informed him I was bringing back the old battery that was in the car and should receive only $10 for it.

He then tried a couple of times to process the refund for the core amount but couldn't do it. At that point he called a third older employee who when she tried to do it she stated "Oh the computer says you already received the $10 back..." I informed her I had not received the money back and the reason why the computer stated that was maybe because two other employees had tried different times to process the refund. She got the manager on the phone who told her that if the computer stated I had already received the refund that it meant I had already received the money back.

I was furious at this because she made it seem like I was running some sort of scam and had tried to return two old batteries. I ask her to call the manager who told me the same thing which only made me even madder. I ask them to call back the employee who had tried to process the refund and he got on the computer and hit a couple of keys and the computer showed that I had not received the refund. The manager nor the employee did not even apologize for their error after they flat out accused me of stealing money just because the "computer" said so.

I guess no one believes in the word of their employees. I can understand how the manager and employees would want to catch thieves and save the company money, but if an employee is telling them that their own employee might have made the error then perhaps they should look into that issue first before accusing an honest employee of stealing. I will never spend another penny at this store!

Cashier Lines
By -

TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA -- Today I was in line at the Kmart checkout. I was 5th person in line. There was only one cashier line open. Within 5 minutes there were at least 11 more waiting to check out. And of course at Kmart, we never (except for me) shop alone, right? So eleven more people in line to check out... was actually about 20 in the line. I began looking around for signs to see if there was a toll free number and there was! I called it while I was IN line. By the time I actually got to the ONLY cashier (line growing!) I finally heard a human on the line asking how they could help me.

I explained that since I had waited on hold for that person, that they should wait for me while I checked out. (The people in line behind me were reaaally entertained by all this!) As I left the store, I tried to find someone at the customer service desk with a name tag, something to give this CSR on the phone. Guess what? NO one at the Customer Service Cash desk either! Can't blame them, probably hiding from the impending angry onslaught! Btw, I told the cashier, also, that I felt sorry that things were looking so tough for him right then. He said "No problem. It's my last day!"

I spoke with a sympathetic person in the "Sears Holdings" Customer Service. I believe he typed in every word I said. While on the phone with him I even warned a customer in the parking lot that there was only one cashier on duty inside. Long line... etc.

While the CSR was sympathetic and offered apologies, I have to say: the growing line, ONE single cashier line @ 3 p.m. on a Saturday? I thought they WANTED to remain open! I spent years and years in retailing. I know customer patterns and how to staff for sales gains. These people are so far off the mark, they may as well lock the doors and declare themselves closed and failed for lack of trying! I will either go to Kmart EVERY DAY and call customer service every day to complain, or I will never darken the door again.

This is not an isolated case. There are 2 Kmarts in my small town. It's the same at both. Weekdays weekends it's the same. Today was just the last straw. I appreciate a place to post the rant! If a company has a store open to "serve the public", then they should contribute, and fully staff the business. These people weren't at half staff. They were NOT staffed.

Kmart assaults customers
By -

CROFTON, MARYLAND -- On July 27, 2006 I went to pick up my prescription at the Kmart in Crofton, MD. I had just gone to a doctor's appointment, stopped at a Mercedes dealership to pick up brochures for my godson who likes cars, and carried the papers in my shirt, because I was riding a motor cycle. At KMART, I went directly to the pharmacy and then left immediately. As I left the store, at least 3 Kmart thugs, and that's what they are and how they looked and acted, i.e. like bouncers in a bar, assaulted me from behind. Then, a policeman showed up and grabbed my wrist from behind. One of the KMART thugs claimed I had stolen a DVD or something.

One of the thugs then told the police officer that he me on video tape stealing whatever! What a KMART thug liar! They should be proud of this management! Oh yea, and one of them, of course dressed like a bum – no tie, fat, and disheveled – said he was the STORE MANAGER. Nice management!? This happened at 7/27/06, a little after noon, so a crowd gathered on the street and sidewalk to watch me being humiliated by the KMART thugs! Finally, they ripped out the brochures from me and saw that they were car brochures.

I have been going to that store since 1993. These stupid thugs - and I know that I'm being too kind here - never even apologized. As a matter of fact the manager then threatened to have ME arrested for disturbing the peace because I dared call them dummies! So, if you'd like to get assaulted, shop at KMART, where long-time regular customers get treated like a criminal. I wonder if they check all the women's purses, which would really be how to hide or conceal things!

Wonderful Help From K-Mart Store Representative
By -

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO -- It's my first review, and I just wanted to share a very positive experience I had at K-Mart, here in Colorado Springs this morning. I went into K-Mart about 9:30 am, to stock up on dry goods. You know, toilet tissue, laundry detergent, shampoo, toys and more dry goods. The reason for the toys, is that my precious niece and nephew are coming over later to spend the day with me. They are my heart. Sorry to be off topic, but just wanted to make it clear, toys aren't the norm for me when I buy my dry goods.

I had 3 shopping carts full of merchandise. One cashier actually came over to help me unload my items while the cashier rang them up. Then after paying, I now have 3 very full shopping carts of merchandise. A very nice guy, about 20 came right over and said, "Miss, can I help you?". I was so glad he didn't call me ma'am. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I feel at **, being called ma'am makes me feel ancient. I was like "I am OK", he was like, "Oh no, let me help you out to your car".

Now mind you, having a new vehicle, I am parked in the boonies. He came out with me, pushed 2 of my wagons, then when we got to my vehicle, he loaded everything into it for me. He wouldn't let me do anything. I am very happy with the service I received this morning. I have always had pleasant experiences at K-Mart, and usually have my husband with me, when I am buying our monthly dry goods. Since today was my day off, I wanted to get it over with.

He was so nice and very sweet. Such a gentleman for someone his age. I gave him a $10.00 tip, which at first he refused, but I said, "No, please buy yourself some lunch today". It was just a very refreshing experience for me today, when people are always having negative experiences at times with stores. That's my first 3cents report, and I am happy to be able to share it here.

Return Policy and Rude Manager
By -

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA -- I have waited over a year to find a way to register a complaint about an experience that happened last summer at Kmart. My son loves playing video games and I went to Kmart to purchase several items as they are only 3 blocks from home. I had the worst experience there. I brought a bean chair, but I found a more appropriate bean chair at another store. So, I told my niece to return the chair only if she got full credit. I noted when she brought home the receipt that there was a $4.00 difference in the price I actually paid. I went to the store and the guy at the service counter said "I can't do anything she (my niece) returned it without a receipt."

I explained what I had instructed her to do and explained that the chair was not only not on sale. There was no reason to deduct because on that date I returned with the receipt. I could have at least gotten full credit. I would be OK with that. I was told no adjustment could be made and the manager was called. The manager was a ** male who was rude and loud. I explained the circumstances and he said even though this was all within a 48 hour period he did not have to make the adjustment.

I was astounded and demanded the credit out of principle as these people refused even though no return policy stated that when an item was returned in mint condition and no sale had occurred. They could still deduct approx 20% from the price of the return as some sort of return penalty. No wonder people go to Wal-Mart and target. This guy yelled at me that I was being unreasonable and he would do it to get rid of me.

I am a physician and I told him I would never talk to a patient the way he spoke to me and I want to make sure that I write to someone as this is an abusive sick group of people who would obviously cheat those like my mom on a fixed income. Later, I told my niece to follow my instructions to the letter the next time as I refused waste time dealing with this conduct or business. I HAVE NOT BEEN BACK TO KMART!!! Location Pendleton pike Indianapolis IN.

GIFT CARD FRAUD
By -

MICHIGAN -- We ordered a DVD online at Kmart.com Dec 22nd, 2003 using a Gift card. Mind you I received the confirmation email that it was ordered and that "I would not be charged till the gift was shipped" LIE a BIG LIE. Well on 1/7 I received another email saying they cancelled it due to being out of stock. Guess what, they never credited us back cause THEY DID CHARGE IT. I was told like you that it would be credited but for me was 72 hours. Well I called again on 01/14 and it was still not credited. Was told then it would be 7 days. So would be credited by the 16th.

I waited... The 19th still no credit. I called again and get this, I was told well it wasn't credited cause the customer has to call to have it credited it won't do it automatically. Gee what was I asking for the previous times. Now it is the 10th of FEB. Spent 4 hours on the phone including a 4 way conference call with Kmart Gift Card in Nashville, Kmart Customer service, Kmart Customer Service Supervisor, and Kmart.com and myself, ALL saying it falls on the other. Finally they transferred me to Kmart Headquarters in Troy MI. What a joke, they passed it back to the Billing. But told me they would look into it and respond within 7 business days.

I am totally confused on this for much BS on a 15.00 item. But now it's a principle thing. I bought and paid for a product that was never delivered and that my friends is FRAUD and I am going after a bankrupt company with all my might. Please if anyone else has had this problem, POST AND LET'S GET TOGETHER AND MAKE IT RIGHT.

Bait and Switch
By -

TUCSON, ARIZONA -- November 15, 2003. THE K-MART FAILURE: It was a typical Easter Sunday in Tucson, Arizona several years ago. Everybody was up early to prepare for the family that was to arrive about mid-day for Easter dinner. The Sunday paper arrived at 5 am. The morning was cool and crisp and at 8 am I walked outside with the paper to read in the refreshing air.

One advertisement by K-Mart caught my eye. It was a part of a supplemental stuffer that comes by the dozens in the Sunday paper. This ad was for a camera. I thought it might be nice to photograph the expected family festivities later in the day. I left my home and drove to K-Mart about three miles away. It was a large big-box store and the parking lot was deserted. Not a soul was to be seen moving inside or out and not a car was Parked in the lot.

I entered at about 8:30 am and approached a counter that seemed to be one designated for the sale of cameras. Still nobody to represent the store. I waited for a minute and then shouted, "Hello." A man and woman, both in their thirties, appeared from behind the same counter. The man had a sign, manager, hung from his shirt next to a tie that I noticed was slightly askew.

The woman, looking as though she had been caught in the nude, appeared to be angry. She approached and in an irritated voice asked what I wanted. She was angry at something, possibly that I disturbed a conversation or something that took place behind that display counter from whence both she and the manager came. I told the woman about the camera in the ad and she produced a clipboard with a list of about 25 names. She told me that they had a run on that camera and it was out of stock. If I would give me my name and phone number they would call me when an expected new shipment of the cameras arrived.

I left angry and disappointed and have never bought one dimes worth of K-Mart merchandise again. AND THAT, Senor K-Mart, is why K-Mart is in bankruptcy today. Multiply my experience by thousands of potential customers and the answer to K-Mart"s financial situation is not hard to dissect. They can do whatever stabilization of the company they want but the bad management is still there and I do not forgive them the attempt to bait and switch that camera. I guess my big complaint is that K-Mart thought I was stupid enough to just take that treatment and stand still for the abusive behavior of the company.

Misleading, Wrong Price

NY, NEW JERSEY -- Kmart is such a scam! I grabbed a beautiful 16 pc king comforter set which was originally priced @ $119.99. There was a $69.99 sale sticker placed over the original tag on the shelf. Also, there were 2 other shelves stocked with full and queen sized comforter sets with the $69.99 sticker place over the reg price. When I go to check out, it is a different story. I'm told that the price is $119.99. They point out that the brand on the sale sticker is different but all other info was the same (16pc set, reg price $119).

My question: why place the freaking sticker over the reg price. BTW the reg price sticker had the brand of the set I grabbed - very misleading! I say false advertisement. What an embarrassment; I had other items and only had limited amount of cash.

This is another story that happened to me the same morning. I purchased 2 Essential comforter sets which were on sale for 34.99, reg price 49.99. When I checked-out, I'm told the sale price is way higher than what I expected. I fought and showed them the on-sale sticker. They honored the sale eventually. Sadly, they did not honor the 16pc set I tried to buy tonight. Crooks! They know the sale sticker was a typo. The sales staff became irritated when I confronted them with this issue, but they were more worried about closing-up than actually dealing with the typo on the sales sticker or determining the real issue.
