ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND -- This 46" Samsung TV is a replacement for a 43" Samsung that was repaired 5 times. We've had this TV about 1 1/2 years and the picture went blank just before the Super Bowl (there is sound). We were talked into this set by our sales rep. who insisted that the previous set was not the norm. Now, we've had 2 Samsungs, neither one lasting 2 years. The amount of time and frustration we've experienced is not something that you would expect with a $4,000 set. My son told me to buy Japanese. He bought his Sony 50" before we bought our first set and has not had any problems.
LOCKPORT, NEW YORK -- We bought this Plasma TV 18 months ago and paid a lot because we thought we were getting one of the best on the market. 18 months later the thing just quit. No warranty. It is only good for 1 year. Why buy the extra warranty when they tell you that the TV should last 23 years playing 6 hours a day? 18 months is well short. Had to send it to a repair shop because they cannot work on them in the home. That was 5 weeks ago and they tell me that they are having trouble getting the parts. So for anyone thinking about buying a Samsung Plasma TV just remember they do not last and you can not get parts. This will be the last Samsung we ever own.
CHARLOTTETOWN,CANADA -- I purchased my set in March, 2007. In July I starting seeing "champagne sparkles" on the left side of my screen.
I called Sears and was referred to Samsung's service center. I called toll free number. They took my information but I didn't have the serial number or purchase date. They requested I call back with the information.
The next day I got a call from their local service rep, they had a ticket to come out and repair my set. He showed up that day, he stated the factory set the voltage too high on these sets to improve the picture quality. He turned back the voltage to the new recommended standards. The problem was corrected. I take my hat off to Samsung, top notch service and skilled techs that solved the problem and did it quickly. Great product, great service. Well done Samsung. I would highly recommend Samsung based on my experience.
After three years of service my 46 inch Samsung suddenly would not turn on, a clicking sound could be heard and the TV had to be unplugged. After researching the problem it appears Samsung had some bad capacitors. A call to Samsung customer service got me a free in home repair, replacement of defective caps, at no cost to me. Truly above the norm in today's market place.
FLORIDA -- Bought 2 50" LED Smart TV's. One wouldn't program, it was replaced. Bought 2 Blu-Ray 3D players at the same time. 1st wouldn't work had to be replaced, 2nd didn't work had to be replaced. It took 4 Blu-Ray 3D players to get 2 to work. The Blu-Ray players worked but the 3D did not! All was replaced but the hassle of going back to the store several times makes me think the quality is not what it should be.
GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA -- I was given this brand new Samsung big screen TV in 2007 in 2011. I fixed it once for $400 and in 2012 spent another $300 to fix, and now 4 pixels out. I think I got a lemon.
TEXAS -- TV is less than 3yrs. old and has already gone out. You can almost buy a new one for the what they say it would cost to fix this one. If their product will not last any longer than that, then the public needs to know what kind of malfunctioning product they are selling.
PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA -- I bought a Samsung 55" LED 7100 series TV for $2,300 dollars and it only lasted me 2 years and 4 months!!!!! The technician that came to my house said that basically it was a manufacturer defect because the whole panel (the actual screen itself) went bad and Samsung does not want to recognize it. The cost to fix it would be $1,425.00!!!! Basically I can get a new TV for that. They are making disposable TV's and charging crazy amount of money. Aren't TV's supposed to last at least 5 years if not more???
White dots started to appear on my 50" Samsung TV. I called customer support and they said warranty has expired. I understand from other websites that they have sent a repair person out to fix their TV at no cost to the customer as they have admitted there is a defect. In my case, it does not apply. From what I understand, the part cost is $900 - I will never buy another Samsung anything.
