My friend and I recently traveled from LaGuardia airport to Las Vegas. We arrived at LaGuardia to find out that our flight to Oregon would be delayed and that we would miss our connection flight to Las Vegas; we wouldn't be able to leave Oregon until the next day. We both had to be at work the next day so we had to cancel our flight and book through another airlines ourselves. We talked to our first airline (the one we booked through Travelocity) about a refund. They told us we needed to contact Travelocity because they can't issue a refund. I called Travelocity and spoke with someone who put me on hold to verify the flight delay with the airlines.

When he came back on the phone he told me that Travelocity can't issue refunds, we have to go through the airlines that can either refund us or give us another flight. I'm not sure why he had to verify the delay with the airlines if he knew he couldn't give me a refund anyway, but okay. So I call the airlines 1-800 number. They tell me again that I need to speak to Travelocity. I call Travelocity again only to have to repeat my story 3x and then the same thing happened. I was on hold to "verify" with the airlines what happened and so I contacted the airlines customer relations number.

I finally received help and was told that the airlines don't receive anything but our names and flights from Travelocity and that the tickets are paid for by Travelocity so they cannot refund me. But, they authorized a refund and I just needed to speak to a supervisor at Travelocity and give them a number I was given to authorize the return from the airlines. So, I came home and immediately called Travelocity. I immediately asked for a supervisor and the girl on the phone insisted that I had already called them and they told me multiple times I could not get a refund.

I tried to explain to her that I had finally gotten approval and had talked to the airlines and she would not listen and I had to ask for her supervisor repeatedly until she finally took my phone number in case we got disconnected and put me on hold. The supervisor came on and told me I would have to be on hold for another 10 to we got disconnected and he called 20 minutes later. He said we are able to get a refund but that I won't get it for another 6 to 8 weeks so we'll see how that will turn out.

I'm more upset with the run around that I received from Travelocity and that they are no help to you at all. Had I not spoken with a helpful person from my airline I would have gotten no where with Travelocity. This is the second time I have had problems with them and will not be using them in the future. The customer service is non-existent and they keep you going in circles and I never seem to get the full story.

Travelocity Air Tickets

MIAMI, FLORIDA -- I cannot begin to express how disappointed I am in the online travel agency TRAVELOCITY. On December 5, I was planning to travel to South Korea to begin what was to be my first vacation in many years to several exotic destinations in Asia. I was excited to begin this tip in Seoul to attend the traditional Korean wedding of a dear friend I had not seen in a long time. Then I was planning to play it by ear and travel to Japan and possibly Thailand for some R&R on the beaches. As a kindergarten teacher I was very excited about the prospect of getting tickets at such a great discounted price.

While looking on TRAVELOCITY I found a flight on two excellent airlines at a much lower cost than I could find anywhere else. I made my plans, packed my bags, and waited excitedly for what was to be my first vacation in years. When I arrived at Miami International Airport and went to check in I was horrified when the very polite woman at the counter told me that I could not check in without first showing that I had a ticket out of South Korea within 30 days of my arrival.

I was aware that as an American my tourist visa was only valid for 30 days. That would give me time to attend my friends wedding and see some of the sites before deciding if I wanted to take a ferry to Japan or hop a flight to Thailand. Well, I immediately did as the cute TRAVELOCITY gnome suggests in their commercials and I called the 800 number. The woman was very polite and helpful, but after 45 talking to her and 20 minutes on hold as she contacted the airline. She informed me that I would need to purchase another ticket out of Korea before they would let me board the plane.

After all the time on line waiting to check in and then on the phone with the TRAVELOCITY agent, my flight was due to depart in less than 20 minutes. I never did get my vacation and I never did get to see my friend's wedding. I may be a 32 year old man....but I went home and cried. As a kindergarten teacher the $812.00 that I spent on my ticket represents two weeks of my hard earned pay.

Never once did TRAVELOCITY inform me that I would need proof of a departing ticket to use my one way ticket. There is no way that TRAVELOCITY can refund my lost memories, but I wonder if they will do the right thing and refund my money. If you plan on using an online travel agency such as TRAVELOCITY think long and hard before you purchase anything from them because you may pay more for your tickets if you buy direct from an airline, but they will give you all of the information and service you need to avoid a situation like this.

My $812.00 represents a single ticket sale for them, but to me it is more than a month's rent and my car payment combined. I even emailed them that evening and have yet to hear from the 3 days later. Beware of these companies that do not hold up to the promises that their humorous little gnome mascot makes in their commercials.

Do Not Use Travelocity

I am not normally one to complain but this has got to be the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I booked airfare in December 2006 for a trip in July 2007 for our family of 4. We are flying from Denver to Hawaii for my sister's wedding mind you. Travelocity overnights the tickets and when I opened the envelope I only received 2 tickets.

I call Travelocity right away and they said I would have to repurchase 2 new tickets and pay a lost ticket fee and after my trip they would reimburse me for the charges. I said to the agent first of all I did not lose the tickets, they never came in the mail. He said, "We will have to investigate this and you can call back a month before your trip and we will reissue your tickets and overnight them to you."

I am thinking OK this does not sound good. It all went down hill from here. I called several times a month just to check on the status and every time I was told a different story and not to mention the damn 2-hour or more hold times and you can't understand a word they are saying. I spoke with 3 supervisors who said they would look into it and call me back.

I am sure this is no surprise I never received a call. About 4 days till we depart I call again and the customer service agent says you have to go to the airport and report a lost ticket and buy 2 new tickets. At this point I am so over it, I think I will just go to the airport the day of the trip and see what the airport has to say.

I go to the airport the day of our flight and of course this is a three hour process, I have to fill out paper work pay fees and luckily for us the agent helping us says I will not charge you for 2 new tickets just the lost ticket fee. As this process goes along we miss the first part of our trip Denver to Phoenix.

The agent says, "I will rebook you for the next flight." We get on our flight and get to Phoenix. Travelocity and the agents failed to tell us that we would have to recheck into every airport we stopped and go through security. We get to Phoenix and are in line for security and they tell us we are too late had to check in 30 minutes before our flight in order to get on the flight. We go back to the ticket counter and she says we have no more flights going to Hawaii today we will have to come back tomorrow, or we can try other airlines and see if they will honor our tickets and let us on any of there flights.

We go to the United Airline ticket and get the nicest man, who tells us he will get us on the next flight, but we have to fly to LA. We board the United flight and are finally on our way to Hawaii. Unfortunately the fun does not end here. On our way back home we get to fly ATA please do not use this airline; you have to pay $10 for a blanket and pillow?

I have never met any ruder airline attendants in my life. All the flights go well on the way home except our luggage gets lost? I get home and get settled and Travelocity says we need your receipts, bank statements and credit card statement (my first born) in order to give you a refund.

I send all the information and have yet to receive any refund. We are in October of 2007 almost a year from booking this trip and still not resolved. I am in the process of reporting Travelocity to the BBB. My suggestion would be go directly through the airlines.

TEXAS -- 1 Star experience. Horrible Customer Service. It took me approximately 2 hours to finally reach someone in Vegas that can speak English. Then, after all that waiting and call transfers, I explained that I needed to reschedule my return flight due to illness. The BS Flight Insurance is another Scam. This Company must be shut down!

Warning, their services are charged in USD. The flight I booked was within Canada. Nowhere was there any indication that they were charging USD until I reviewed the itinerary i.e. too late. This is underhanded and I won't use them again.

Never Again!!!

CALIFORNIA -- I will never use Travelocity again!!! Here's my nightmare: I booked two tickets from Detroit to Cancun for my parents using Travelocity. I got a confirmation email indicating that the tickets had been booked. Based on that, I booked my tickets to Cancun and everyone's hotel stay and activities using Orbitz and some other online services. Once everything was booked, Travelocity called me to inform me that my parent's tickets had not actually been booked.

Later on I found out that Spirit airline had increased the fare and so Travelocity did not want to pay the increased rate, although I had locked the lower rate with Travelocity. Basically they would not honor my locked rate, and said THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FARES ON THEIR WEBSITE, EVEN AFTER YOU GET A CONFIRMATION!!!

After speaking to their RUDE, RUDE, RUDE customer service people for about 3 hours, out of which I was put on hold for about 1.5 hours, they finally decided to honor the rate I had locked. However, they had charged my credit card the increased rate ($1600 instead of $800). It took them 2 months, and numerous calls from me to finally refund the excess charge. Each phone call lasted about 1 hour!!

Then finally on the day before the travel, my parents called Spirit airlines to confirm the tickets, and Spirit airlines informed then that although the reservation did exist, TRAVELOCITY HAD NOT PAID THEM YET. My card was charged 2 months ago!!!

My parents had to basically book different tickets through the airline directly and now Travelocity owes me all my money back, because basically we were not able to use their bookings!!! The way I see it, they charged my credit card and took my money, but never paid the money to Spirit airlines so that we could actually fly. That's fraud. I am still waiting for my money! I will never use Travelocity again. The customer service people are the rudest people in the world. They will lie to you, will cut you off, will hang up on you, will mock you!!

They Really Suck. I Will Never Book Another Flight Through Them.

3150 SABRE DR SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS -- First of all I must say I have booked over 150 trips for myself and family members and friends over the past 10 years. Never really had any problems before this and this is enough to stop me from using them ever again. My figures are I or the people I have set up flights for have spent in excess of 40 thousand dollars. I will be glad to give these funds to your competitors from here on out and I hope is that people that read this will take this into consideration about using a screaming company like this. You see you don't treat the people that book your flights like GARBAGE and expect to get away with it...

I must say until June of this year I was completely satisfied with your service. I will tell the public of this because they need to know. Well they offer a 50 dollar check to you if your flight changes within 24 hours of booking your flight. Well in my instance I booked a flight and within 12 hours the flight cost dropped 100 dollars. So I called them on it. Their response was I had to buy another ticket at the new price and cancel the earlier flight. They could not just put the 100 dollars back on the credit card. This is a lie. I work in the same field dealing with credit cards and it can be done that day. And they would credit the card for that price within 7 days.

This is so they get out of the 50 dollar guarantee fee because you cancelled and re-booked. They will not have to give you that check. And this is the first time I had this happen to me with this company. Not only that the 19 percent interest on the original flight and now the interest on the second flight. I would recommend that you go to another company or straight to the company the you prefer to fly with.

For sure you lost all my business and I hope that more will follow in my footsteps. I have tried and tried to contact your company so I did not have to write this but you are the ones to blame. I have tried for over a month to contact you to try to clear this up. And you don't care so I must say neither do I.

Travelocity is a Thief, No Transparency, Bunch of Thugs
By -

Travelocity is a company of thieves, unprofessional and unfair with no transparency. Their travel agent located in India and it is impossible to get any response. I have written many letters and tried to connect with the company. Unfortunately it is very hard to talk with anyone. Here is my ordeal with Travelocity. I wanted to purchase two tickets one for me (trip ID: **) and the other for my wife (trip ID **). Traveling from Miami on Jan 14 and returning with my wife from Rochester Minn, on Jan 16.

I called Travelocity on Dec 24 to purchase the tickets. I could book the tickets, myself for less than 300 dollar. I had 272 dollar credit from October 2010 due to a cancelled ticket with Travelocity. So I decided to ask the
Travelocity agent to put my credit into effect and book me the two tickets. One week after, I found out that first of all I loose 180 dollar of that credit and I can only use 37 dollars of credit toward the new tickets.

In addition the new ticket prices get exaggerated to about 500 dollars for me. The agent explained after charging my debit account that is because "I am changing my reservation€. In summary, because I was using the credit, not only I lose 180 dollars of it for whatever reason, but also the price of tickets double for me. Please you make sense of this!

I was on phone for about six hours. Finally one nice gentleman solved the problem and cancelled the wrong charges. Unfortunately, soon I found out that he forgot to include my wife. Upon my complaint another agent took charge of the problem. He promised me everything will be OK. The problem seemed to be resolved. I had to travel. For about a week I had no access to computer.

Thursday Night on Dec 30 upon my return to Miami at about 1AM, I called to make sure that the reservation was OK. First agent could not find any itinerary of reservation on file. I called on Friday Dec 31. I was on phone for about four hours. Then I found out that the agent had booked me wrongfully to Rochester NY instead of Rochester Minnesota.

Finally after so much wait, I was able to talk to a supervisor. He fixed the problem by charging me 300 dollar extra for the agent'€™s mistake of confusing Rochester NY with Rochester Minnesota two ticket which I could book myself for about 275 dollars, end up costing me 932 dollars. This ordeal has been costly for me time wise, emotionally and financially. I would appreciate your help and attention to this matter.

What price guarantee?
By -

On April 12th after booking for myself a flight + hotel + car package (this was the only thing that went well). I began booking flights for my wife who had to be in Phoenix 7/12 from CVG, then flying to Vegas via Salt Lake 7/16 to meet me there. On the 21st we were flying together to CVG. The agent informed me that she could not book all the flights together (FALSE) & kept a running total as she finished each leg.

I was told that the total was for all flights & then after accepting found out that the flight with me to CVG for which she had given me the total for first after booking that flight was not included. I immediately was told that if I canceled all I would get was a credit. I figured since they have a price guarantee (HA-HA) so I went to Delta.com (far from being a discount site) & got a package with all flights together + all fees & taxes for a little over $400 less than Travelocity.

After my wife & I both spending UNTOLD HOURS (probably at least 20 hrs.) on the phone & filling out the same claim forms with the same info over & over (being told there was info missing- NOT) & sending & receiving e-mails we managed to get a little over half of the difference (in 3 refunds) credited to my wife's credit card. This amount DOES NOT satisfy us & we continue to climb on the RUNAROUND MERRY-GO-ROUND when we have time but am looking at contacting a local TV station & possibly an attorney to see if they can get past all the OBVIOUSLY INTENTIONAL runaround and get this straightened out.

Oh, and by the way the first time I actually got up the chain a little I was told that I could've canceled within 24hrs. & got a refund. Wasn't that nice to keep THAT GEM a secret (also not a coincidence). Needless to say I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company to others & am a little concerned that they might be all about the same.
